I really hope the iPhone 15 has super fast usb c (hopefully thunderbolt). Getting files off my iPhone currently is so frustrating, especially editing on pc.
can you please talk about the moment t-series lenses ? I love the excitement of the new lens, I'm just not happy that it is not compatible with my small rig and moment cases, I feel like I have to buy a whole new system when I already have the 18mm the 58mm 60mm and the anamorphic lens, it'll cost me a fortune to replace all those in the T-series T_T
I’ll be getting a set, hopefully in the near future and can talk about it more then, at this point I know as much as you. :) But I am glad that they’re releasing new lenses for the newer generation phones because their previous ones as I’ve covered on the channel don’t work that well from the 13 on.
@@iphoneographers I suppose you're right, it doesn't mean the lens I have is meaningless, in fact I used the 58mm on the 2x tele on the 12 pro max but definitely I can see some vignetting on the 13 so I stuck to the 12 pro max last night when I was at a concert, I just completed my moment lens set, and now I gotta buy another one LOL and they dont ship to canada very well but I can't wait for your testing, you always offer a better perspective and I believe you're right its exciting for the new stuff to come at all, thanks for helping me be less pessimistic and more patient, I love moment lenses its just going to cost me at least $2k for the exchange rate to get the full set but mostly that tele and the anamorphic I like and the 18mm wide :D so maybe ill just get my favourites and it'll last a long time
Watching iPhone15 USB content on RUclips has often pointed out that the new connector will be Thunderbolt4 (similar to USBC) which will definitely bring the download ability to a more realistic level. The challange of course is whether the user's computer is capable of supporting the interface (apple moving their product line in that direction). There is even discussion that the cables will have to be certified for support of the enhanced transfer rates (40gbs).
Yeah, Thunderbolt would be great like on the iPad, but you never know what’s going to happen with Apple. Regardless, anything is better than Lightning. :)
Thanks for the video! I’m new to the editing world. Noticed something in your video and was wondering if you can cover a simple way to remove the reflection on the glasses (example when you are infront of the green screen and we can see the tripod reflection… 1:44)?
@@iphoneographers ah I forgot about that completely!! But thanks for letting me know! I truly believe that it will make life easier to have faster transfers speeds ❤️😍
For budget friendly setups the Rode Wireless Go or DJI mics would work well (adding a wired mic to the transmitter). Like this or Rode just released a “Pro” version… ruclips.net/video/cXnFMOog6l0/видео.htmlsi=XV6eknhOyuKwJHKP
Dolby Vision is HDR captured in HEVC, which is a more compressed codec. It is 10-bit, but 4-2-0 color. ProRes can be recorded in HDR or SDR and is 10-bit 4-2-2 color. It’s also great for post-production. DolbyVision is a baked in look and not really designed for post work (it’s a distribution codec).
Hi Louis! I wanted to ask you what is better or what final quality would be better. Record Prores Proxy Vlog3 with Filmic Pro or is it better to record dolby vision? Thank you!
If you want to color grade then ProRes is better, but I’d probably shoot LT. Dolby is good for quick turnaround stuff and especially if you’re uploading HDR.
Yeah, I prefer to shoot in SDR. And shooting ProRes log is SDR. You have options using a third-party app like Filmic Pro. If you use the native app it’s ProRes HQ and Rec 2020 (HDR) automatically.
It can look very good, definitely, but it’s not 422 it’s 420. And for lots of stuff that’s fine, but if you’re doing heavier color grading or compositing, etc. - or if you’re shooting in high contrast or lower light situations, ProRes performs considerably better.
@@iphoneographers I feel that moment log looks extremely good and not like iPhone footage. If moment log was 10 bit 422 it would be a good competitor and more dslr like
Why doesn’t anyone talk about the fact that there is no manual video exposure on iPhones?? Even if you lock manual exposure, ios will mess with it because Apple does not allow any app to turn off dynamic tone mapping. This is true for any iphone and any app, including FilmicPro, CinemaP3, etc. Ridiculous!

This movie looks beautiful think I assume it was color graded if so kinda excited about iPhone 15 potential

Excellent video. That's how everyone should do it. There's soooo much crap on You Tube that's it's nice when you get to watch a professional video.

would you still recommend the 14 pro max or is it a skip year for you?
The potential upcoming USB-C on the 15 makes it a tough one to skip, but until I see the camera updates not sure. :)

h.264 and h.265 also have 10 bit 422
No they don’t. H.265 can be 10-bit, but it’s 4:2:0. And H.264 is 8-bit 4:2:0.
which mic you used to record this video?
Sorry for my ignorance but could you help me understand the difference between ProRes and Dolby Vision? Thanks!
