So nice to see your film, i spend all my holyday on the Island from 1974 - 1999 because of relations and friends there. I used to stay at West Lane , very close to the old railway line you are walking there . I am 63 now . Your film brings back great Memorys of a splended time .
Just found this older walk. I remember going to Hayling island back in the 60"s as a street outing. thanks for the memories. A sausage roll sounds great. Thank you both.
That was a fab walk and so lovely watching you two having such a lovely time! Especially Logan's frolics in the sea!😊 Very interesting Dave! And what a great level pathway! I could ride my buggy along that wonderful stretch of Coastal path! Thank You!
Hi Dave. Just watched this following Kevin's live chat last night. Looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to visiting. Good to see Logan enjoying the blackberries. If I'd have seen this video before last Sunday I would have known how much he likes them!
well worth a walk around the conversation area just before the bridge. 2 pubs , fascinating tiny chapel, puds, an old mill, an unexpected pond with awesome birdlife , a walk along Chichester harbour
Nice walk Dave and Logan...very familiar to me as i'm from Havant and spent my childhood up and down the Billy Line on my bike....if you ever go back it's well worth checking out Northney Church as you like to visit churches.
@@DaveFord you could also have a look at the wadeway too because the ends at Northney and on the other side in Langstone are still visible. Langstone is worth a look too. Nice Mill and 2 pubs!!
Great video Dave. Langstone Harbour is my go to place. Sunrise & Sunsets are great times to visit, you get some fantastic reflections on the water if the conditions are good 👍😊
Takes me back to the lovely warmth of last summer. I didn’t know about the oyster beds in that area, but I do know of the old railway. I traveled this line as a child with my grandmother. I recall changing trains at Havant for the Hayling Billy, waiting in the bay platform. Also the rickety old Langstone bridge. Wasn’t there also a ferry crossing from Hayling to Southsea? I was thinking of making that trip one day, but it was suspended. I don’t know if it’s back in action now.
Happy New Year Dave! Was wondering if you know anything about the nature reserve on Copythorne Common , the US army where there prior to D-Day. Maybe you can take a walk there one day with Logan and see what you can find 👍🏼
Thank you. Yes indeed, I have already done the research for a super walk that includes Copythorne Common. Just waiting for better weather & good light before Logan & I do the filming. All the best for 2021 and thanks for watching. :)
@@DaveFord Excellent! I’ve been there a number of times as it’s very local to me and found a few things that could be something. Would love to know where exactly the troops buried one of their tanks there , I think I’ve found it but not sure. Cheers
Happy New Year Dave, we live just outside Salisbury - have done a few of your walks - is there any you can recommend that won't be too muddy at this time of year? The Forest looks a bit squelchy in parts and the car park at Telegraph Hill always seems to be full . Any suggestions ? Thanks
Thank you Susan & all the best for 2021 to you as well. I am not sure which Tier you are in but Martin Down (Tier 4 I believe at the moment) should be OK as it is all on chalk so should drain well & I would have thought will not be as muddy in the Forest. ruclips.net/video/rNi7zaAokxc/видео.html The Hayling Island walk certainly has no mud as it is all along a disused railway track & a hard surface. In the New Forest, a walk with little mud would be Burley ruclips.net/video/OH7T6Nfc_sI/видео.html as that is all on gravel tracks but of course that is some way from Salisbury (as is Hayling Island)! Thanks for watching.
@@DaveFord Thanks Dave, we are in tier 3 here in Nunton , Martin Down is just down the road , so will try that one first. I like it up there - great archaeology .

Lovely that you have such a long connection with the area Frank - a great place for a holiday. Thanks for watching.

Thank you Lavinia. Both Logan & I are always on the look out for a pit stop that involves a sausage roll!

It s a lovely walk along there .... and not too undulating as well.

Thank you David (Always looking out for a "refreshment" break!).
Oh for a paddle in warm sea water under a clear blue sky. A great antidote for January grey. Thanks Dave.
It seems like a long time ago now!
Thanks, Dave. Have a nice trip.
Thanks for watching.
Never been there but will now! Thanks for posting this walk!
One to do on sunny day!
Another great walk,

Good evening dave I managed to do this walk today with my dogs thanks for all the information easy to park lots of rabbits for them to chase.
Glad you had a great walk there Craig. Weather was not to bad for you either.
Love Hayling Island and my dogs also

Thanks Andrew. I can imagine that it must be quite magical at those times.:)
Great walk Dave and Logan hopefully you’ll get to do the whole walk one day I do like a trip on to the island 👍🏻
Thank you. It was just a little bit too hot for Logan.... will be going back in the Spring for sure!

Yes... the sea might be a little too cold for a dip for Logan at the moment!
