I'm not sure about Pritzker, but Bruce Rauner is full of crap. Pritzker, knows the steps how to get things done unlike Rauner. A lot of what Pritzker says is true. Rauner has been making up a lot more lies as well.
I am not thrilled with Rauner but I don't think there are any other valid choices. I know he has moved away from his Conservative base on issues, and that isn't helping him out. But JB is not the solution. He has entertained the idea of a Vehicle Mileage Tax, he wants to move to a Progressive Tax system, and he wants to restructure how property taxes fund schools. JB hasn't provided any specifics with his plans. However, he wants to implement a Tax Plan that emulates neighboring states. Well in those Progressive Tax Systems, anyone above 60k salary will see a 1.5-2.0% increase in their individual tax rate. Anyone that says we can increase Public School funding while reducing Property Tax doesn't really know anything about taxes. Unless you talk about Pension Reform and Reducing State Gov't Bureaucracy, you aren't addressing the problem. We have something like $160 billion in unfunded state pensions, while running a $1 billion annual deficit. That is not a sustainable system, we need to move away from state pensions and adopt a 401k system retirement plan for state workers. We also need to reduce the amount of State Gov't, we have 2-3 more units of governments than three of the largest states (CA, NY, TX). In each unit of government, they have their own structure and administration. I don't think a School Superintendent should be making $350k/year while earning a retirement package worth $8-9 million. And in some of these school districts, there is only one school.
