I’m definitely not an expert, but I watch a hell of a lot of videos. Mike is one of the best, if not THE best metal shaper in the industry. Definitely one of the best on RUclips. Not only does he have the creative eye for design, but he has the technical skills to make his vision a reality. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.
And with the wave of his wand he says the magic words " TADOW!!!!!" A new sail panel that looks like it was meant to be. It dont get much better than that. Awesome show Mike and big Steve, Carapilla , Thanks for the ride.
You know it's good when you hang on the edge of the chair intensely watching Mike bend, use the hammers and go bend again then back to the hammers producing a perfectly fitting compound bent pannel. Completely mind blowing work.
Man, you have a great eye. To be able to match such complex shapes side to side is art, baby. Love the process of ‘sneaking up’ on the final fit until it’s perfect. Respect 👏💪
Just discovered this channel. It was captivating to watch how Mike brought that panel to life. Halfway through the video I hit the subscribe button. Geez, I just realized that I was wasting my time watching that guy in Nova Scotia (I won't mention names but you know who) that butchers good classic cars. I can see how Mike takes pride and time in his work. Watching from Durban, South Africa 😎😎
As a lifelong car guy I can say with confidence that Mike’s panel gaps and general fitment FAR exceed those on my brand new Tesla Model Y. Mr. Bello can never be replaced by a laser guided robot. Maybe it is time for Tesla to program a bit of Lokochon in their “state of the art” coach work?
A Bit late today as we were at The Dog Rescue Centre looking at our latest rescue a 5 year old Labrador in need of urgent rehoming So Beer in Hand sitting back watching the Metal Masters at work Greetings to all from Pembroke South Wales
Most of our dogs are rescue dogs, plus we rescue farm animals and adopt out chickens when the farms don't want them ! I'm sitting watching this having a beer in my shed in Auckland, New Zealand ! Been to Wales a lot, my wife is from Colwyn Bay ! And here we are across the world watching Mike Bello chopping a 35 Chev and doing a fantastic job of the metalwork !
Man you gave your homies car a whole new look, roof, front end, back window, made me fall in love with a 35chevy . Closing up the hood was classic. The only Chevy with suicide doors factory. Badass!!!
Man, I would love to see you and Karl Fischer from Make It Kustom do a project together. Both of you guys do amazing work, and to see something that the two of you did together would be sick!
When Karl gets another 10 years' experience, that could be a possibility. Today it would be the Sorcerer and the Apprentice. No shade on Karl, but there's no substitute for time.
Awesome work! It would be cool if you make quick mention as you go of "too low here" or "too high there" or "need more curve here"... and then gave us a subtitle to tell what each hammer is doing like "big shrinker", "little stretcher" or (If I have this right) "Plencher to smooth things out"... that kind of stuff. I love your channel. Cheers.
Love How you take the metal through many complex curves shrinking and stretching to bring it to form and fit with the flow of the body that was originally stamped steel. AND you make it look easy. Awesome.
Really enjoy the longer videos, you are an artist and a genius when it comes to metal work my friend. I actually wish the videos were longer !! Ha thank you for being alive my brother.
lol dont learn from you. I liked the way you always left steel cut square to make it easy for the next guy. That is the nicest collection of power hammers I've seen. Not good having a scrap yard next door you will be dragging stuff home all the time lol. Cool video camera man showed some skills got some good angles to edit 😁🇬🇸👍
Nothing but the best from Mike and his crew big Steve and Carapila! Like everyone says and I have been saying since the start: Mike is a master of metal art. Keep it real Holmes - es todo lokachones.😊❤
It takes a lot of talent, skill & experience to be like metal fabricator Mike, very nice work again my man! Cheers for the video again Big Stevo, great content mate keep it rollin'
I see guys use sweeps and profile guages and mark out the shrinks and stretches in the template stage, and Mike just jumps in and goes for it. It's interesting to see the comparisons of different techniques, but the end result is what matters, and how you got there doesn't really matter. Anyway, top-notch work and vision as always! 👍👏
Perfect timing, love watching while I enjoy my Sunday morning breakfast. Your talent amazing as always. It’s so meditative watching you work on that power hammer. Videos look great too. Thank you for sharing your time & talents.
Imagine what today's vehicles would look like if you Mike worked as a auto designer back in the 1920s and 1930s awesome metal fab hats off to you keep these sweet videos coming
Having all the tools you have is one thing but knowing. How to use them that's the part that is important I've worked in body shops and been around some talented men with metal but you are the best I've seen I've seen guys with all the first class tools but couldn't do shit compared to a few of the old timers I was with when I first started in the mid 70s I knew a old man that could cut a quarter panel off a car with a cold chisel and a hammer as good as other guys with the best tools you could buy he would put door skins on like a machine perfect every time no Bondo just a hammer and dolly. Great video mike
9:30, that's what you call body work 😂 Always enjoy your insight, expertise and the fact that you don't know what you are doing 🤣 And the Spanglish 101 makes your videos very educational too. Have a great day
Mike knows what all of his metal-shaping machinery can achieve and uses this knowledge to the limit on very complicated jobs just like this one, the evidence has been proven to us all many times here on RUclips, thank you Mike for showing us.
I commend you on you videos. There are a lot of people that don't realise just how much work goes into chopping a top especially the later roofs with all the compound curves.
“Dude”. When nothing has to be said except 1 word.. I might be a little extra but the reflection of the shop lights running up that quarter through the sail panel and onto the roof…. “Clean, clean, pinky ring”!!!!!!
I totally agree. And he’s a one man show.
Whats the hrs it took to get this complete? Windows only
He is very good, I thought he was going to have to fab each side in 2 to 3 pieces. One piece is amazing.
Amazing work, the “teacher guy” voice always cracks me up ! 😂
If it doesn’t line up and curve perfectly, it’s not a Mike Bellos creation!
Nothing but perfection, baby!! Dig it!
Exactly what I wanted to watch on this Sunday morning!!
Yeah, right. Mike doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s forgotten more than any of us will ever know. A master at work.
😅😂😆😝😁 ..”when you go and cut the metal….” In your Professional Voice got me bustin’ up OG! Lokochon forever🤙🏼
For a guy that says he doesn’t know what he’s doing he sure knows what he’s doing, great job Mike
I get a kick every time that Mike inpersonates the " sheetmetal instructor voice ".....Great work, Mike.
And with the wave of his wand he says the magic words " TADOW!!!!!" A new sail panel that looks like it was meant to be. It dont get much better than that. Awesome show Mike and big Steve, Carapilla , Thanks for the ride.
Mr. B. understands the tolerances of his shaping machinery. There is no shortcut to quality. 😂
and they wonder why it cost so much to chop a top, watch this and you'll know why. good work my man!
Hey…no matter what is used to create, Mike is a person with the talent and skills to conceptualize and make creative works! Simone!
Master! I have used paper patterns in the past, but you make it look so easy. Thanks for letting us peer over your shoulder!
Nice work Mike. You sure know how to use all those machines.
it's like Mr.Bello's high school shop class- por que "make sure when you cut it - you stay on the line" - - - - - - - Bueno Domigo Lokos !
LOKOCHON Picasso at work!

Man, you have a great eye. To be able to match such complex shapes side to side is art, baby. Love the process of ‘sneaking up’ on the final fit until it’s perfect. Respect 👏💪

Always waiting Sunday mornings to watch Mike do his thing 🤙

Yes Mike you are a true metal Man. Chapin panels like that is like playing chess you got to think five moves ahead.
Yeah buddy. Best viewing of the day!!!!
Mike, I am always impressed by your work. You are a true craftsman.

You just can't find those machines any more. That planishing hammer is mint.
