  • onescytherevolution.com/index.... Mowing mature goldenrods, and grass, and young bushes, to gain more pleasant access to a wild apple tree. I am using a brand new, 50cm Fux Light Bush Blade, and adjustable Swiss snath, and I am periodically honing the blade with a Black-blue Bregenzer whetstone. Available at www.OneScytheRevolution.com Of interest to Natural Farming enthusiasts, is that this apple tree is a wild apple tree grown from a naturally dropped seed. One of many in the area. It has never been pruned. It just grew that way naturally in the wild. It produces a great tasting crop of apples every other year. We are afraid to mess it up with our good intentions, so we leave it the way it is.

To me it dosen't seem that much slower than using a weed whacker but I'm a city person and are probably looking at this through rose coloured glasses. I would love to give this a try just to see how hard this is, I've been watching these videos for a couple of days and I've seen lawns being mowed in less time than I've done it with my petrol powered mower. Also I love the silence, I work in an operating theatre with so much ambient noise that when you turn off all the machines that go bing, the wall suction, the radios etc. All you can here is the silence, it's deafening! I sit here with headphones on with one in the house, with no music or TV on just me and the silence. Thank you for posting this.

This was a very relaxing video to listen to, and sporadically watch, as I prepare for bed. I love what came of your efforts, that apple tree sounds like a gem. Thanks for posting.

I'd probably start with a Falci ditch blade like the 151.

Do you handle the sharpening stone you use for this blade?

I was using a Black-blue Bregenzer whetstone in this video. It was my favorite for the light bush blade at the time. The mine is now closed, however, so I can not get it anymore.

Soo this really is Guy and His channel dedicated Soully to Scything?
I guess there probably was and will again be a time when this was a demanding and dedicated profession and like any profession, youll find those who are dedicated to it, but....

Hello, do you know if a scythe will take down raspberry canes? I have a huge area of cleared land that only grows raspberry canes (no fruit). I’d rather take back that land for a veg garden. Thank you in advance

      My light bush blades will.
