Grace Under Pressure really is a stellar album. Top-notch even. Its only crime was coming on the heels of the transcendent Signals, the best thing they ever did, in my opinion. So whatever they did was going to be a letdown compared to it. If they had done Grace the album before Signals, or a couple of albums after (cannot skip the masterpiece that is Power Windows), I would have been completely smitten by it. Still, Between The Wheels was one of the highlights and one of their best songs to close an album. This was a really powerful rendition of it.
Justin, to bad you missed the bus...A Rush Concert is where everyone is your friend and they are loud as F**k!!! The visuals are the cherry on top...Over 100 shows under my belt and they only performed Between The Wheels once!
Here’s a thought/curious observation/question. Who puts a tremolo ON A GIBSON?🤔Alex F’N Lifeson🤯does🤣and how about songs you might not have liked BUT THEN after witnessing it live, gives you a whole new appreciation of it. Songs you liked(Dreamline)from the first listen, then REALLY LIKED after seeing it live, songs you liked, UNTIL YOU saw it live.🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎹🎤
GUP has special meaning for me, and "Between the Wheels" is the perfect album closer to a darker record. Such a dystopian, apocalyptic feel.... Chills!
One of my favorite songs off one of my favorite albums by them. As you say, jarring and dark as the song lurches to its end. This one really showed off that elaborate light show. IIRC they do some super cool stuff later on in the show during Alex's outro solo in Witch Hunt. Cheers!
One of My cousins was a fallen away rush fan for years. I showed him this on dvd cranked in the theater room. His response, I must go see them again. Well as luck would have it I hooked him us up with great seats at the Chicago United Center for the Time Machine tour. To this day he thanks me. Unfortunately as we all know now the end was near.
@@markandersen5187 Yeah I get why epics like LVS and Natural Science would be considered better efforts overall. I'm just most impressed with how well BtW works as a send off for the GuP album, it's just so well done, catchy, and as it fades out it totally gets under the skin in a way thats so appropriate for the entire tone of GuP.
Phew. And 3:45 -- is Geddy a GOAT or what? They could easily have had Alex handle the backing synth pedal parts, but no. Geddy is like "That's OK, son. Even though I'm already playing bass, keys and singing I'll take that. No problem."
Yes. It may be a bit slower. That or this is a good example of what @katskillz mentioned in a comment (will be in The Comments Section... #4) about how in later years Neil played more behind the beat as opposed to on top of the beat (driving)... which would cause the music to feel like it's dragging. This may be a combination of both, slower tempo with a 'lazier' feel.
Just a great live track. It was a sleeper. They brought it back, the fans responded and they kept it in the set across several tours.
Alex's best solo of all time. Goosebumps on goosebumps.
I WISH they would've brought out Red Lenses! Having said that...Between the Wheels is awesome (so is Mission)! 😛
Can’t hear wheels live too many times - made to be played live - one of the heaviest darkest in the catalog

I like Signals for most part and Grace Under Pressure. Power Windows meh. Much prefer Permanent Waves, 2112, Hemispheres and Clockwork Angels.
@@debbieplato5107 Personally I think Power Windows was a masterpiece. My top three though were Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves, and Clockwork Angels.
this concert is f,,kin good ,the sound, the visual ,everything is perfect, professionals at work ,great DVD, next one,🤘🌎🤘
Amazing! This live version is brilliant. One of the best. No doubt

I like this one!
Geddy playing some of those single-fingered triads 😂
Circumstances and Between the Wheels in the same day! Sweet!

Love this song. Glad they kept it in the set from R30. Yes, Red Lenses would have been great instead of Mission. Marathon too!
So great live!! Just an excellent song!! He got those notes right on too! Loved it! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!!
“Red lenses” hahaha would be cool to see it was better than anything on Hold your fire…..the enemy within would be cool with all fear series parts……
Cool watching Geddy play his Jaco fretless - he did a lot of sliding into and out of notes and chords. Great version all around!
The first set song choices from this tour may have been the greatest first set of all Rush first sets.

Chills!
Last track on GUP and what a song, live I grinned until my jaw hurt and I didn't care, I love this.
Stellar version...this song resides just outside my top 10...so effin good!!!🤘

HEY WHAT HAPPENED TO TODAY’S COMMENTS VIDEO?
Probably won't be a daily thing
GOOD JOB ALEX!!
Yup. Great song. Great live performance.
Geddy with Alex's RRHOF acceptance speech on his tee shirt. 😂
Yup. Intermission. Time to get into the absurdly long lines for the men’s restrooms.
Not big on Between the Wheels, no song on GUP REALLY grabs me, probably about how much Cinderella Man grabs you😅
Alex is an AMAZING guitarist yet nobody talks about how unique and great he is! I love his style nobody plays like him!
This entire album is 🔥. This song is no exception.
Another great performance of this song. More Piano Stabs please!
My favorite of this album...
I love watching your head bob with that "stank" face when you are reacting to a song you like!
yeah the piano st@bs are really interesting ...

I soooo agree very under rated song.
So dianent and Stavinsky esk.
I like the R30 version better. They slowed it down here
Always a favorite played “live”.
reminds us what a truly great record p/g is!!
9th
Great performance even though Geddys tempo was a bit slow in the intro.
Industrial Rush at its best!
Huge favorite
P/g was a great tour. Y&T was a great support act too.
🔥🔥
best rush song
BETWEEN THE WHEELS 🛞 LETS GET TO THIS…BAM!
Best version.
Hands down best song as an album closer, ever. IMHO. And yes even against Working Man, Cygnus X1 and The Garden
Close for me...incredible song...only LVS and Natural Science top it

@@katskillz I'm on board with that!!!
Brilliant song and performance!
Never gets old, it’s my favorite song from GUP

I am definitely not a musician, but this seems to be slowed down a bit from the album version. Justin?
