Buying the Misty comic on a Saturday morning was my treat for the week. I can't believe you can still find it 😊
Ah fantastic!
I appreciate that you almost always find at least one nice thing to say about a book but you're still always honest. You say why it didn't work for you if you didn't like it. I also like that you read what you want to read, I'm so tired of book snobs. I think I've followed you long enough now to figure out if it's something I'll like too. Keep it up, you're doing a good thing.
Yeah I think the trick is getting to know other people’s taste so you know where it overlaps with your own 😊
What a coincidence! A coworker just lent me Saga and I'm enjoying it so far as well.
I’m a massive ‘Judge Dredd’ fan. He still seems underrated nigh on 50 years after his initial release. Great review.
Thank you! And yes, such a great character
I’m gonna check out Scream and Misty and Commando. IDW TMNT are great. And I love Batman/TMNT. Comics look great on my 12 inch Lenovo tablet. It has light behind the art! Great vid!
Ed Brubaker is exceptional for crime comics!
Cheers! Will have to check him out
@@CriminOllyBlog Brubaker's collab's with Sean Phillips are really worthwhile. Check out CRIMINAL (set to become a tv series), FATALE, WHERE THE BODY WAS, and the RECKLESS series.
@@magnusskallagrimsson6707 Thank you!
I had seen the original invasion of the body snatches at least twice before reading the book and it still worked for me. It is one of those books you can still enjoy even if you know the story.
Yeah I was surprised not to love it.
The novel has so much unintentional innuendo in the dialogue it could be a drinking game.
Great video Olly! Invasion Of The Body Snatchers was a fun 70s movie. I have not read the book but will probably give it a skip based on your review. Island Red does have a wicked cover! The Corpse Whore Pasties looks and sounds hysterical. Saga sounds fascinating, added to my tbr.
Thanks Cliff! Saga is really really great!
Love me some Saga. And Honey in His Mouth is an awesome title. I might steal that for something some day. Cheers!
My mind immediately went to saucy places with that title, but the actual meaning in the book is less fun 😂
When a review comes with having to explain pasties... Glad you had a great reading week. I always say that Christopher Golden is the literary equivalent of a sigh but I think I've read all his standalone books. The House of Last Resort which came out this year has been my favorite and felt very 1970s.
I might have to try that one!
I didn’t want to presume my audience would know what pasties are as you’re all so cultured and respectable
Lester Dent wrote a lot of the Doc Savage pulps. He’s a blast!
Yeah a really fun writer
Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
And to you, my friend!
@@CriminOllyBlog Thank you!
Well done, Oliver! *NICE*
Thank you 😂
The fact that you read in a garden is what I aspire but I know I’ll quit in 5 seconds
The climate here is just right for it at the moment.
Commando comics and MAQ !!! Now if we could just get some more sport on the channel 🤭🤭
Ha ha not happening
I loved Saga was a lot of fun.
I’m loving it so far
2:09 I’ve seen the ‘Tom and Jerry Tales’ version which is quite hilarious.
Just got a haul of The Executioner series. 9 for $9.
The earliest one is #4. Is it necessary to read #1 to understand the Character origin?
You can get away without starting with one, Pendleton gives a little overview of previous events at the start of each book
9:00 “Bear with. Bear with. Bear with.”
Lmao
1:02 Nice 👌
😁
still missing Alan Grant...
Amen
What’s “humble bundle?“
It’s a website that sells bundles of books (and other things like software and games) at a big discount.
@@CriminOllyBlog cheers, will check it out
