    I recently went to the Immersive Van Gogh show..one part is wearing a Virtual Reality headset and literally entering his paintings. I kept thinking afterwards…I hope he is watching all this! ❤

    Van Gogh could see, or at least he painted it, the quantum field, alive and constantly in movement , his paintings were so Amazing and he continues to influence Artists to this day 130 year After his death, Thank you Jill for this education of Van Gogh. I have always loved his work, since 9th grade art classes, You too are an inspiration, your blend and style, of Cezanne, Van Gogh, and a bit of Matisse

    I think you would be a great writer so thank you for sharing us British find all of this hard as we are raised to reserve our personal feelings. We do write more than talk

    When I was an artstudent I loved Van Gogh's passionate and compassionate works. I also experienced the exhiɓition where the paintings and letters were screened onthe walls and you felt you were in the picture! Amazing experience here in Israel. I also tried doing a copy of a painting but found my brush strokes were very inferior.😢 Thank you Jill for your personal experience!

    With deep respect, this was fantastic. There are actually 2 museums of Van Gogh's works in Holland. The earlier collection is in Amsterdam, to which Jill Steenhuis refers, the second is out in the countryside (forgive me, my friend drove & it was 33 years ago, so cannot say exctly where) and contains many of his later works. Well being ~

    Why do they keep misspelling Van Go’s name . What’s with the gh at the end of his name? Is a silent gh?

    • @conjurebones
      @conjurebones 11 месяцев назад

      His name was Vincent Willem van Gogh.

      @andrewjohn4876 Nobody is "misspelling Van Gogh. It is a Dutch name which every American I have ever heard fails to pronounce correctly. Both the G and the gh are very subtle in pronounciation, the gh is never silent. There are many videos available where you can hear this, do some research.

    Van Gogh also suffered from bipolar disorder the reason he would get manic and disturb the people of Arles

      Yes, in reading his letters it does seem that he was also bipolar.

    I was hoping you would not talk about his ear…I was hoping it was more technical focused, but no, you lead off with that. I had to switch to something else.

    • @jillsteenhuis4337
      @jillsteenhuis4337  11 месяцев назад

      I agree wholeheartedly. Sorry for the “ear talk”, it’s truly so insignificant in Van Gogh’s life as an artist. I always feel like I have to address it and get it out of the way before I enter into the truth about Van Gogh. Maybe in the future I should ignore the “elephant in the room”. Too bad you did not hang on to listen to the rest. If you have specific questions or comments about his technique “fire away”.

      @@jillsteenhuis4337 He was so tortured, and has been so misunderstood - addressing the issues is important. I stayed to listen because this lady flounced off.

    You poor darling you had very disturbed parents which I know it is not easy. Yes Van Gogh died broke nothing like today when people seem to use art for business. The two dont fit together.
