Valid concern but I am more concerned when people don’t know what they are doing. His technique is deliberate and much safer, avoiding sideways knee pressure. In this video he drops his hip to the ground to avoid that danger. I am more worried about people imitating him without knowing the actual technique.
@PressurePlusTime even if you know it's a very dangerous move, in particular on that terrain. In my judo gym, it was banned for randori even for black belts

This is why training martial arts or fighting sport is really important. Helps you get grounded with reality regarding your strength, skills put against other people. As opposed to for most people who don't train, as a result most guys overestimate their fighting skills
If you're finding yourself needing to engage in physical combat in the developed world today, you may be doing something wrong. Doing it for fun, by all means, but I'm not sure that physical combat is an important skill to succeed in life. Not saying it hurts either and if you enjoy it, by all means. I just always get confused by these comments that seem to treat training in combat sports as universally really important.
This video should be studied by all BJJ people who are training like myself. Wrestling is essential in our journey. BJJ guy was good but Georgio's wrestling was on another level.
Man, but you just have to be honest, if the BJJ owner had wanted to break any of georgeo's articulation-bone, he would have done it, of course when it is about take downs, BJJ is not dominant at all
This is absolutely fantastic what Georgio is doing for the sport of wrestling. Spreading the joy of one of the greatest sports and hopefully this will get a younger generation of kids involved with wrestling. Thank you Georgio!
Actually the young guy who had wrestling experience from high school and was doing some martial arts stood a much better chance than the BJJ black belt gym owner. Traditionally, high-level wrestlers make fun of BJJ wrestling. I trained a guy for mixed martial arts who had a stellar collegiate career in wrestling and he won every single tournament in BJJ that I took him to and embarrassed the BJJ black belts and he was a blue belt in BJJ. People need to realize all martial arts are specific and that's what makes MMA so great is several different styles can win and win at the highest level.
You should def get these guys to get comfortable training, the more people you wrestle, you should teach them some moves to improve their skills and ultimately improve their interest in the sport. Love the vids bro, keep ‘em coming.

I can tell from watching your videos that your sprawl game is on point and you look to have great core strength. I see most people going down to try to grab a leg, which never works. Maybe a double leg takedown would be more effective. But betting that on a person with your experience it will be far from easy. Apart from that I would think something unconventional like a throw or just lifting you off the ground might be the only chance. And in order to do that you would need a very strong and skilled person.
I like the idea, I'll give you some advice for mats outside, go with white colored mats. They will stay cooler. Mats tend to get extremely hot and dangerous under the sun. I once went to an outdoor wrestling event that got so hot they stopped the wrestling and sprayed the mats down with water to cool them down. It failed miserably and the event was canceled before it finished.
Jiu jitsu is lacking takedowns so bad. I wrestled a little bit of varsity in high school and I am currently going for a purple belt in BJJ. I’m not sure what to do, I’m considering judo. But I did start kick boxing recently.
I think a lot folks think being trained in BJJ makes it a more even match with wrestler but that’s not the case. Wrestling is more explosive with takedowns and in BJJ, it’s not necessarily a bad thing to go to the ground in guard. Apples-to-oranges.
You're a beast man! I would love to see you take on a judo blackbelt same weight class. I think that would be a really good match! Keep up the good work!

I always thought that a wrestling tournament at the beach where a lot of average people could see it and be exposed to it, would help to build the sport. Georgio, put like tents or something over the mats, I’ve been in many outdoor tournaments. The mats get real hot. Also by the beach the mist might make the mats slippery, I’ve seen that happen before. Besides that I’m down to pull up.

I love it. I’ll give it a run or 20. It’s funniest when you have someone that’s only done jits or some sort of martial art that is focused on the “ art” aspect, and they legitimately think they can. But then if they’d only watch, you go up against champions in wrestling and school the hell out of em. lol What I never understand is why people don’t suck that leg into their chest and give it hell when ya bait. They’re always so timid. Haha
I just want to say that people that have a wrestling background that come to jiu jitsu is crazy to roll with ! It was my second week of training and this guy was able to toss me around ! But I also my friend Ross Keeping Go up against wrestlers and with was crazy scramble the whole time!
Rule set makes a big different. BJJ guy did really well. Takedown game is just one part of grappling. Once ur on the ground you’ll see the full aspects of his game. That wasn’t the purpose here
Watching the part vs the bjj guy and being reminded of one subtle difference: wrestlers slap and go, bjj slap bump then go. Bjj guy thought he left him hangin on the bump haha.
I think you should say to people " I will only defend the takedown , I'm not gonna be on the offensive" it's gonna be more enticing. We already know you can takedown 99% of the human population. Taking them down only makes the bout extremely short and the volunteers can be surprised with the sudden burst of movement in their bodies. Also there's less risk for them to get injured as they chose the pace of the bout. Karaté Bushido's Greg MMA from France is way below your level used this method to gain a lot of success in his previous street videos which boosted his channel (and he's cringe on camera sometimes, whilst you're good)
