That was actually very helpful advice. It showed me things that I needed to adjust to squat better. I watched the video about her a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. So seeing that she was featured again I immediately clicked to watch.

So ... two workouts, now, trying to get knees and quads back. I bought knee wraps like yours and did not act like I could go back to 500lbs, like in the 30+ years ago. The workout was successful in two ways: 1) I learned that with the wraps, I can do 320 on the squat machine, and 2) I can't do any weight on the hack squat machine without hearing popcorn in my knees as my unstable knees give warning signs. I had to learn where the line is. I used to teach Shaolin Kempo and could do horses stances so solidly that one could stand on my knees as I was in the position as they gave a lecture ... which my Sensei did. Solid. TODAY, though ... yeah. So ... I think I need to start off with NO weight to lock in the motion, then just the bar, then a little weight. That may take a few months, but ... better than rushing it and having my wife have to come ride with me in an ambulance. I am indeed, a work in progress ... thank you for the inspiration. I'm working and working safely. Peace and Harmony.

I used to squat 7 plates each side in my 20s and 30s that resulted to spondyliosis and costiocondristis. Power lighting is great but when you get to 40 you start having issues
Did that at 53 years old after a 26 year long break from BB. My l4 and l5 are messed up and suffer from horrible sciatic nerve pains in my hamstrings. I still train high intensity but don't squat heavy anymore
Getting older doesn't mean you automatically have to stop squatting heavy. However, it's good while you're still young to develop the habit of prepping yourself properly for a squatting. For example, many think you can warm up by just squatting lighter weight, and that's just not it.
