Very encouraging to hear Cathie‘s recovery story. I’m 68 and definitely need to hear other people are recovering at the same age. i’ve had chronic fatigue for 10 years and after lots of pushing and crashing I’m determined to get it right this time with the help of CFS health. Thank you for your wealth of wisdom!!
I can really relate to her story as I too am a long-timer. My initial onset was around the same time, but in '98 for me. I too am clinging to the baseline to try and end the push-crash hamster wheel. Thank you for posting!
I Would do it tomorrow if I had any money., When u have not worked for over 10 years because of chronic symptoms you cannot afford to pay for any courses . Thank you for what u share online for free
Baseline is what you personally can do in a day without feeling worse for it. Then stabilize at that activity level for some weeks before very slowly increasing capacity. For some people it might be just getting up for meals and brushing their hair or whatever. For others that aren't so bad it will be more activity.
And know that your baseline can change day to day... depending on things like how well you slept, what your nutrition is like, how much stress you are under, or if you overdid it the day or week before... among other things. Learn to forgive yourself. Let go of guilt. Become flexible and adaptable. Adjust your baseline for more rest time, meditation, better nutrition, a night time routine.❤
So, your program seems fonctionning really well. I heard the woman said there are phonecalls in it. I m french and do not speak well English. I wonder if that will be ok to follow the program for those who are not native person.? Perhaps it will not be complete without phonecall. Would you answer, please ?
Got cfs in 1992 and still have it in 2023. I am 75 and have been experiencing severe cfs since November last year. It usually goes in a 6 month cycle, but not this time. My G.P. suggested Ginseng which helps somewhat. Any ideas? 🇦🇺
If only it was that easy. Did you watch the whole interview? Cathy shares some key insights into her personal journey! Obviously there was more to it than what we covered in this short podcast. Cathy did a lot of work on a holistic approach to get to where she is today.
There are times in live, when everything is too much. When I was there last winter, I called a crisis hotline. They knew nothing about my illness, but they could help me with this feelings and thoughts. And I was so proud, because one of the most difficult thing for me was to ask for help. The first time, I talked to the person for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The lady helped me through a very rough evening. I called them two more times. I am very glad that I had this help. For me a very important part of recovery was to open up to people around me, how bad it really all was.
@@CFSHealth I did watch the whole interview, and other than eating and sleeping better and various ways of thinking positively all I heard was stick to you’re program… Wich is apparently lots of videos, Probably telling me to eat better sleep better and think positively… So nothing actionable, just the generic “improve you’re lifestyle” that doesn’t help at all… No energy, can’t sleep, no appetite, constant pain But I should eat sleep and be happy anyway…
Very inspiring. No matter how long we've had it, we can learn new, healthier habits and mindsets.
Absolutely!

Like Cathy I got CFS when it was not considered a real disease.
I relate to putting your chin in your hands. I used to do that a lot.
Me too!
You gotta make it fun and eat an elephant one bite at a time! I loved that. Cathy's story resonates with me so much. Thank you both. 😍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great story :) I'm trying to get a handle on my baseline right now, and it was great to hear that it was key to her recovery. Gives me hope.
You got this!
Oh these guys really made me smile. Such kind demeanours and common sense help and information. Thanks.

Omg... 😂"Yuppie Flu"... i had totally forgot that one! Yes... That was my diagnosis in 1987.
Have fun doing the little things one step at a time. Very encouraging. I relapsed from stressful events but I know I'll recover again

Great testimony. Would like definition of 'baseline' to understand the context of testimony. Thankyou.

So eat and sleep better and be positive?
… the universal cure for people with a condition for wich there IS NO help…
I don’t think I can keep going

Btw if anyone can do these things and it helps… I’m glad!
But for me it’s basicly saying I might as well end it
