    Bro! Former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo chats with Dr. Chris Featherstone for a very special edition of Writing with Russo. And this week, Featherstone asks Russo to book Tiffany Stratton's cash-in on Nia Jax. This leads to a conversation where Russo opens up about how Jax appears to be a legitimate heel as compared to Finn Balor, who is a much more diminutive WWE Superstar as compared to Damian Priest. How did Russo turn any WWE Superstar heel? Find out in this special podcast.

      No they probably don't care, but that's their loss. Let's face it, they're all midcarders with no charisma who get an occasional title match and nothing more.

      @@TheNextStep851 Midcarders making 7 figures that wasn't even heard of during the attitude era....I'll take that, I don't see Finn complaining because if that was the case he wouldn't had resigned. You're giving Russo too much credit.

      @@GeDiction223 7 figures or not, they're still midcarders who will always be midcarders.
      I give Russo the credit he deserves. He knew how to make stars. He wrote the shows and gave the stars the material to shine. It wasn't until he was writing that Austin, Rock and Foley became full-fledged main event stars with crossover appeal. Without him we don't get midcarders instantly looking like main event stars on their debut such as Kane, Jericho and Big Show. Those were his ideas.

    • @GeDiction223
      @GeDiction223 21 день назад

      @TheNextStep851 Actually, he was gonna destroy the whole Undertaker vs. Kane storyline before it even began. He wanted Taker to come out and chokeslam Kane through a table the night after Badd Blood. Vince Russo had ideas, but you had a Vince Mcmahon there to tell him, "No, let's do it another way." That's why when he began writing for WCW or even TNA, it did nothing because he didn't have anyone higher than to tell him, "No." Austin, Rock, and Mick was just being themselves. That's what got them over. As for as today's like I said, these midcarders are making 7 figures. It's nothing wrong with being a "role player." Everyone can't be in the main event. Obviously, they are fine where they are at.

    • @TheNextStep851
      @TheNextStep851 21 день назад

      @@GeDiction223 There it is. You listened to Cornette and parroted his story verbatim lol. I'm shocked at this brand new (false) information. Ironically, you're taking the word of the guy who couldn't get anybody over when he was booking.
      A movie can have a great cast but if the writing/direction sucks then the movie sucks. This is what happened with WWF in 1993-1996 and 2001-2005. Why is it that the ratings peaked when Russo was there and not afterwards when the roster got even better?
      He improved Nitro's ratings by 0.8 in less than 3 months when he was fully in charge during his first run. In TNA, their ratings were improving each year and peaked at over 2 million viewers in 2011. Once he left they declined each year. If he's so bad at his job then why were the ratings not at their peak without him? In fact why weren't they even going up without him?

Even when they did push him they made him look weak. Look at his feud with Seth and Edge two of The biggest feuds in his wwe career and throughout both those feuds they made him look like a joke and then he lost. It'll be no different with Priest. It's hard as a Balor fan to see how he's been treated over the years but at least bros making big bank so there's that🤷🏻‍♂️he probably makes more cash than alot of dudes who gets pushed more than him.

    And never mind some bad takes, like we’ve never seen a heel take on big face? (regarding Finn/Priest)
    Or the idea of people having an idea where Liv/Dom/Rhea was going being bad. Not everything has to be a swerve, sometimes a story that follows logic is sufficient when you care about the characters.

    Fin balor is what makes regular people that used to watch become uninterested. The divas wrestling is garbage, nobody with a life cares, then you got Feminine Fin. 120 pound, 5 foot tall, wears paint and becomes a "zombie", shit has always been trash. Let him go to aew with the rest of the cruiserweights. Shit sucks when he is on tv. Wtf he have a match with Edge in a Hell in The Cell for? Like who tf cared. Finn Balor was buried as soon as he returned from that injury in 2016, Finn is a great talent. Demon King Finn is awesome we finally get that with heel Finn they tried to ruin it with Edge, Finn was a heel back than too but he's an even more heel now after what he did to Priest, but as for Tiffany Stratton she will cash in on Charlotte Flair when she return and beat Nia for that WWE Champion and Nia will end up turning on Tiffany sooner than later after that.

    Russo just talks out of his ass, that's all he's ever done throughout his career and he's possibly the luckiest man in the history of the business because he had much better writers around him in one of the best periods in wrestling that actually had experience and knew what they were doing unlike him. Everyone can give Tony Khan all the shit they want for his booking but at least the guy's not gonna book himself and a celebrity to win the World Title because he knows he needs to stick to promoting and he's not a gigantic egomaniac like Russo was in WCW, which by 2000 was already a shitshow before he came in and made it downright unwatchable for so many people, so it's no wonder he doesn't see any value in people like Finn Balor because they're actually talented.
