That shot the blonde man looks creepy as hell. And seeing how his right hand as miraculously reattached itself back onto him you know he's the Thing.
@Tyrell Suraiya At 6:40 he swings with two hands.
Actually never noticed that before when I read this 🤦♂️
The thing has got to be the greatest alien monster ever to be created by fiction.
The predator may be my #1, but the thing is a close second.
It’s the Michale Meyers of alien monsters
@@DaikaijuDiscussions I'd rather encounter the Predator...
@@gjtrue hell no. The Predator is God
@@GLARebel when is the predator going to be a hero in the movies?
Claim: Rodmar is immune to assimilation by the Thing.
Evidence: the Thing would never be able to assimilate balls that large
These people of old days really had the balls alright. Fighting that "thing" with only swords, spears and axes.
I mean it's not like they had anything better tp fight with xD. Sadly they don't know much if anything about cells and such so they're at a major disadvantage, and as we've seen that sealed their fate.
Imagine The Thing in a world of dinosaurs!
Late to the party, the guy at the end was The Thing, he got exposed several times and there are several hints to him being Assimilated from early on; at the beginning when he reached out to the first victim, when he kills the only survivor at the camp and the blood starts flowing towards him, when he denied his wounds being sealed with fire and hot irons, at the beginning of the battle he swings with both hands so it already regenerated/re-attached, he got hit and made skin contact during the battle and at the end he shows the other while being alone in the campfire that his hand had regenerated/re-attached, I am inclining more that he was infected when he reached out to save the guy in the water at the beginning, as the blood of the lone survivor he kills flows towards him and he declined being cauterized with fire and the battle next day his hand had already regenerated and re-attached while he was with the main group during the night so he didn't get near the women Things during the night, which means, he was already infected from the beginning.
It's an interesting concept for Vikings to encounter the Thing.
So the Earth was always screwed. You got Things landing all over, Greenland, Antarctica. Who knows, we could've all been assimilated from birth.
codafett Yo, did you see Volume 1? and Climate of Fear is now online.
codafett well that sucks
"Chariots of the gods, man! I mean, they practically own south america...."
MP R none of this is real pal xD
we are assimilated...why bother to kill what you allready..'inhabit' after all ^^ , no but serriously though if the thing got hold of any host capable to withstand the artic cold it would jsut have simmed of and assimilated/devouerd the planet so comics like these...mhee...great effort voiceing it though gets my thumb up.
Not sure I like the idea of the Thing taunting him at the end. Whenever the thing was alone with someone, it would abandons the need for speech, as if it saw speech as only necessary for blending in, and as soon as yet didn’t need to blend it, it didn’t need to speak. So Hord would have just straight up attacked and assimilated him.
A lot of the comics do this because its exactly what happened at the end of the movie, you would think the Thing would have just attacked, but it's been confirmed that at the end of he movie either Child's or Macreedy is a thing (it isn't confirmed who though) so it must enjoy doing this
@@JimmyJowns That was debunked actually
@@TyRiders2 no. It is not debunked. Whomever made the debunk have not taken into concideration of what the movie makers have said, and what Carpenter himself said on his own Twitter account. I have seen them myself, and by taking into account of what they said, and paying attention to some details, you will know that Childs really is The Thing.
@@PsychoticLuke The fact that Childs wasn't wearing the same clothes after he chased Blair outside earlier.
And the famous "I made you drink gasoline in a bottle which should have been for a molotov, and you drank it raw you fucking monstruosity".
Then MacReady laughs, surely in despair.
A great end indeed. Just as Prince of Darkness' and In The Mouth Of Madness' ones.
Yeah most of you all are right, but if anyone think it’s been debunk, I would recommend “Climate of Fear” sequel shows what happened to Childs.🔥
0:22 That picture made me realize how much necromorphs and "the thing" creatures are look alike, i hope EA was inspired by this classic.
José it actually was
The people who made Dead Space were inspired. EA is just a parasite who leeches on the success of others.

perhaps he landed next of north Europe before managing to go in antarctic
Love the voice acting this would make a great movie.
Would've been better than the 2011 prequel.
So here is what I believe happened: The thing landed in Greenland and when one of the village women decided to explore the wreckage she was infected first. She infected the other four women. They likely began slowly infecting others, but were discovered by Bjorn and the other humans.A fierce battle ensured, and though the men outnumbered the things, they ultimately perished, not before only five thing women were left and one man Finn who hid.He likely hid in a barricaded part of a house, so that they couldn’t get him.One other thing survived and hid under the ice, taking one of the viking men.As for the blond man who tried to save him, I posit that he was slowly infected from the first encounter or maybe by touching one of the thing imitations. The women were all infected as they didn’t wear any shoes, seemed far too calm and robotic, and tried to inch closer to the vikings.During the night one of the thing women, knowing from memory gained or perhaps basic intuition the ability of a female to seduce a male, lured Eric into the Barn where he was assimilated. But for whatever reason the thing decided to be another woman, likely because it knew women were seen as less suspicious or dangerous then men would be.After the discovery of this, the battle between Finn thing (who was infected during the night or possibly when the blond man pulled out his axe from his body), and Astrid thing and the men ended with only two men left. When the blond man reaches out and taunts him the thing does this knowing there is no point in fighting as it has won, and so rather then transforming or even attacking him it merely seems content to leave him to freeze or die, because he can’t win anymore.
You’re telling me 2 ships crashed on both side of the planet?
The things clearly cannot steer well.
This is a good point. It is possible that the Thing has attacked in the past too.
Great story. I really like expanded and creative ideas that go beyond the original concept of what The Thing is.
4:22 is the blood moving? He was a thing? That's some attention to the details.
But he didn't notice at that time the creature moves and infected him, thats why at the end he regenerates his hand. But probable in the night he became a thing. That explains his difficulty to speak fluent and slow phase transition and lack of aggresivness.
The part where they cut off his hand when the first guy went down was probably actually a pretty smart move considering the thing probably did touch him in the water with that hand. Though even if it’s cold, doesn’t mean it’s dead. I feel like there’s more than one of em out there in the Antarctic. 🥶
Did a herd of buffalo blow up the flying saucer?
Intorsus Volo Yep. Drove off a cliff and onto a UFO. Bam!
Buffalo is a beast i wouldnt categorize IT as prey as its a real beast
The long haired guy got infected at the beginning when he reached in for the other guy
And hmmm, his hand was cut off in that scene, but it's back at the end? (Look at 6:42 when he uses both hands to use an axe)
@Fulcrum55 when the guy was trying to escape and killed at 4:14 hand was already healing
For all those asking if this story is canon or takes place in the same universe as John Carpenter's the Thing from 1982 and the Thing from 2011 this comic was published for the promotion of 2011's the Thing prequel. This takes place in an alternate universe where the thing landed in the 12th century instead of a hundred thousand years ago so yes it did happen but not in the main universe. According to what is established the Thing was a creature captured and placed in an alien ship. It escapes and takes over. The ship goes out of control in the chaos and it crashes on Earth for a hundred thousand years. This couldn't be the same universe as the alien ship gets destroyed here and also it landed in North America which is nowhere near to Antartica. Also, the race that captured the thing and the thing itself must be extinct everywhere but Earth.
What if there are multiple "things"? One that landed in Antartica 100,000 years ago and was discovered in 1982 by the Norwegians and later the men of U.S. outpost 31. Then this one that landed in Greenland some time before/during the 12th century.
What an awesome little Thing story that is, wish it would have gotten a physical release instead of just online
thanks for putting these up
luni003 Two more to come!
That was a good twist
6:07 So Manly😓😓
You never seen guts until you face some guys fighting with the thing. With they bare swords and guts
2:32 Welcome to Hard Home: Population - 100,000 undead, 4 White Walkers, and John Carpenters The Thing.
That was awesome! Wish it was more then just a one off, the characters and setting were fantastic.
So from what I understand from these comics is that The Thing just wants to get off this crazy planet? I don't blame it
Hord could have been either assimilated during the night pass on watch or infected. Infection seems likely but he got his hand back attached after the night came about when the women starts revealing themselves.
Or sometime before. When Rodmar suggested to cauterize the wound, Hord said that it was unnecessary because his wound was already healing. And before any of you ask "how is it if Hord was assimilated/assimilating so early that he would still be complaint with Rodmar?" That was explained in the Thing comic: Questionable Research. Where one of the scientist explained that the brain is the last part of the body to be assimilated due to its complexity, meaning a person could infected and not realize it until it's too late.
@@mathlete855 Ah, that could be highly true then to what can happen. Forgot about that.
kind of a shorter comic. still pretty good though. not as much paranoia as the other comics though
That was pretty good! As much as I want to watch the rest of the Thing comics, I think I'm gonna buy physical copies of them off ebay instead.
Adam B One of the main reasons I made these was to raise awareness of their existance!
What happens if they made the thing in 1940 ww2 but the Russians come and investigate Finland base
Love it! An archeological discovery gone bad.
That would be awesome
Or Halo infinite could change things up
By 10 marines and they see a abandoned covenant research base but they figure out that they don’t know who’s non-human or Non-Alien creature
By my answer I say the covenant that were left behind would help the marines to stop this infection well it’s dangerous it needs to spread to earth but earth is already destroyed by the elites
So maybe they have to find a way to get on
But the ending...u decide what it can be 2 survivors and one alien that gets killed
Or
1 human that survives victory and puts a needle inside to check himself that he is not infected
Damn, Dark Horse makes some good shit. And so do you my man
I didn't think much of it to start but that's good because it caught me well of guard & turned out to be really good, brilliant m8 i really enjoyed it
Nice effort. I don't buy comics began for the price you pay for them you get very little bang for your buck. This was a nice way to enjoy the story, thanks!
Fantastic! I'd like to see a movie prequel like this, and a full blown sequel with Kurt Russell. I doubt that either will happen though. On a note, these shapeshifter's really creep me out beyond the norm.
This comic is better than the 2011 movie it tried to promote.
Thank you for posting this !You did a great job!
HahotoAtanas Hey! Climate of Fear is now online.
4:14 Dead giveaway that he is already one of those THINGS, for where his hand was severed is already healing after that hand had to be chopped off, because of frostbite and the start of gangrene?
this was a glorious comic, thank you
just fucking awesome!
You know, this story is very similar to the one my dad tells me about the route he used to take to school everyday.
Damn, your old man had some balls on him (survived assimilation and everything)
I got a theory; 4.7 billion years since the birth of the Planet Èowyn and before the birth of planet earth, The Basque (a first Human Civilization from Outer space) speaking Homo-Lupo (Humans and Wolf-people) people wage a space war against the Scaralians also known as the Dark Gazatag (elves) while one of them named Arkaitz Txibas created his experiments to wipe out life on every planet such as the one from Slither and one day his future project will be Necromorphs. Arkaitz (after obliterating the Dark Gazatag race causing them to refuge on Èowyn and Luctod 89 to be renamed as Dark elves and secretly launched a silo on the planet Parton causing the his creature to move to planet to planet and finally infected a Varltosian aircraft causing it to crash on earth leading to the thing) launched a seed (by dropping his silo) on a wolf-man who celebrated his return all the way from his ship after his arrival at the Captured planet of Lucifer IV, infecting him causing the fusion of thousands of Colonists. Arkaitz brought skulls from people he secretly killed, disgusted the Chancellor renamed him as Himnazul froze him and his creature forever. He waited to get free once again to possess a Human body until his future Necromorph project will be completed if one Tolarian was infected with the thing's virus turning him into a slasher. After the Necromorph project Was completed, Arkaitz will fuse himself with his fellow Necromorph creations to create he Brethren moon to Assimilate , infect and consume all life in the galaxy.
This comic is so sick, thx for sharing
Love the voice over!
We will have coward's balls for breakfast!
how did hord right hand back in a minute at the end? is hord is infected?
Yes
Jonathan Mendez well look like they gonna die.
+Jonathan Mendez How exactly did Hord become infected?
Rowan Sales he probably touch the thing blood on his weapon.
I guess you do have a good point.
It's Game of Thrones, but only with the Thing!
:D
No more like For Honor
Just imagine they make this video games the thing and the Viking.
6:07 bring me the finest hairdressers in all the land
A.D. 1121. THING WAS BEGINNING.
good job guys
Vlado Buster Climate of Fear is now online!
This is probably one of the better comics out of the other versions to be honest.
I wish Rodmar would survive :'(
i think the reason the thing keeps building UFOs, is because so it can go back to it's home planet.
Zambie Slaya2016 or, so it can go to the rest of civilization, and take over the world.
Thedemonhater i like my version better lol
Zambie Slaya2016 if we would just let it build it's ship maybe it would go home... maybe
Another common theory is that the ship may not even be the Thing's. It can be the ship of another alien race that the Thing took over, hence the crash landing.
Shiiiiii.....
That *Thing* don't want to go "home", it wants to leave the Arctic and infest the rest of the planet...
This is awesome
Kappa Thanks!!
Not bad adaptation to Vikings meet the the Thing dialogue of what might be or happen.
Love this! Subbed :)
When you realize that the thing is what created Among Us
The Thing can kill Superman.
Yup even worse is one touch and the thing gains superman level abilities. We'd all be fucked.
If superman knew about the the risk he could take it out easily with his heat vision though.
Nah hed just fly into the sun XD
Fucking A!
These vikings did better than McCready with only swords lol
Umm okay i dont get it. The whole point of the Thing was to escape in a ship it built. Here we have 5 women Things who already have a ship and are chillin in a village.
And then theres the fact that their alien ship breaks apart like a paper plate when a heard of animals stampede on it. The space ship is presumably made to withstand the pressures of atmosphere and space. Yet it cracks in half and blows up when a buffalo steps on it. Im just .... I dont get it...
i think the ship broke because the animals when they fell on it made it unbalanced to it crashed into the side of the moutain.
This isn't cannon just a short story meant to build hype for the thing prequel
@@buttermilk2145 your name and pfp perplex me lmao.

Agreed
What did i miss, why did the ship blow?
They chase a herd of bison? into the chasm and onto the UFO emerging, forcing it to crash. It took me a minute to figure it out too.
Ah. I didn't realize it was taking off. I thought it blew by the Bison running over it. Thanks. And good work. Enjoying your THING motion comics. Appreciate you taking the time to make them. Like your vid intro too. Creepy as hell.
+Bryan Esquivel many thanks! We'll have a new one done around October.
@slowmutants So what is the opening for your video from?
Cameron Willson I filmed a fake movie trailer called Children of the Dead. I used some of that footage as my logo when I first started filmmaking.
what I just dont get, is how it survives in the water, when it freezes in snow
If you go to the Dark Horse comic site this comic can be downloaded for free. ✌️🙂
Thank you for the video but could you slow it down even just a little please? Didn't get enough time to take in the images and it meant that I could only partially follow the action unfolding at the end. Had to rewatch on 0.75 speed to really appeciate it. But nonetheless thank you again for making this!
The only issue here is having trees in Greenland. The climate was and is too cold for trees to grow, and logically it makes zero sense for there to be a forested hillside.
Is Finn the lead voice actor from How It Should Of Ended?
CleverStudios Ha, no. All the voice actors are just friends I cajoled into helping me.
you should get hired that was good and creepy you can just feel the fear in the way they sound and act
Thanks josue betances, I did contact Dark Horse, but they weren't interested.
slowmutants just goes to show how stupid some people are once you send them a video and let then see how creepy that it really is with voice acting
josue betances You're barking up the wrong tree, pal.
Wait how did the alien spread in the Viking age wasn't the ice block alien frozen near the ship
Steven .B This was a one off, meant to add hype to The Thing prequel. Looks like a different ship, different location scenario.
So that means that there was more than one alien that crashed landed probably in Greenland
Steven .B rewrite your question man. Its totally unintelligible
Wait? the thing was around the old ages?
question why did he look at his hand ?
heather lewis Because earlier he had chopped it off!!!
Ah i thought so thanks for the response. I saw your latest video it was awesome
Great! Two more are left - Eternal Vows, and an older one from Starlog magazine.
hi this is so good the acting is well done

is this comic canon? or is it "what if"-story
DatAsianBoi It was published for promotion of 2011's The Thing, so yes would be my answer.
slowmutants your voice actors are awsome! i know another series you should do. its called LOCKE & KEY.
slowmutants the first volume is called Welcome to lovecraft.
Robbie Quinlan I love Lovecraft! But after Eternal Vows, I'm going to focus on producing a horror film I'm writing!
slowmutants im not talking about THAT lovecraft! im talking about the comic series, named Locke & and Key! let me find a link
Oh those Finns XDDD
Wow. So this canon right? If so then that means that this thing was active even before the main story.
That or possibly there are more things out there unbenounsed to any. After all, this ship was north in Greenland, the ship that we saw in The Thing 1982 was south in Antarctica.
Mathlete oh shit, your right! 😨
@@mathlete855 could be an “life boat” from the main ship that separated prior to the crash in the Antarctic.

The old age huh?
The things been around that long, my god.
Yes
It's weird how you can take a shape-shifting alien, that'd infect a human with just a small dose of it's blood, and put it into a century long before they even had guns and even a flamethrower. It's like mixing Alien in Lord of the Rings, it just doesn't make sense. o_o
It doesnt fit at all
having a hard time believing the thing had just been surviving since viking era and could never leave until the movie..
the ending is even stupider I guess this comic isnt canon then
and their spaceship was undamaged and they decided not to try to leave until the other vikings came back? come on...
-Hopeless situation Warrior- well in the end one of them was a thing
This comic was made to hype the newest movie. There were supposed to be multiple aliens who landed on the Earth.
Ah yeah i forgot about that but still
