Really appreciate you going to the effort to make content during this quarantine thingy time
Thanks Joel. I would make more but it’s affecting my ability to travel to boats like everyone unfortunately 😤
@@jaredwatney I know☹
Soon soon
Jared Watney are you ok after that dive? That had to hurt
Hey mate good stuff, Are you ever going to do a vid on a Yacht engineers daily life/jobs/things they do etc? I would be pretty keen to see a deeper insight into that side of it.
Yes absolutely. It’s a video I plan to make many of. Usually engineers like their privacy and are used to being away from the limelight haha so to have one talk to a camera is not as easy as you’d think
Thanks to Luke for that walkthrough - that was absolutely amazing and such an insight into the whole process - truly awesome !! Thanks JW for setting it up !! Loved this !!
Thanks Joe! More to come 😁😁
This is awesome! Thank you for the killer content throughout this mess. Only just discovered the channel but binged most of it and am a huge fan.
So epic to have you here as a subscriber and I see a member as well! Thanks so much for all your support 🍻
Us young yachties are so fortunate to have you, Jared. These intimate glimpses help quench the thirst when we aren't there (entertainment), feed our excitement to push ourselves and each other forward in the industry (motivation), and remove fear of the unknowns (confidence). Keep working on your yacht goals everybody and lets keep supporting and encouraging Jared to share these gold nuggets with us.
Sick content miss the old time boat video but appreciate all the good content your still crating keep it up Jared !
Thanks Ollie. I miss it to mate, I would have been posting heaps of content now if I was able to travel but couldn’t really do anything about that
Jared Watney still loving the content man keep it up
I want to see a Captain Luke channel.
I’ll push him to make one but for now his Instagram is filled with content like this on his story!
Ive worked in a lot of spray booths for automotive purposes , but this spray booth is vrieken amazing 🙀
Yeah yachts definitely do it properly
Jared Watney quick question how long does this "maintenance period " take to complete?
Cheers to Captain Luke. Nice video.
Thanks Jukka 🍻
That was great. Thanks Capt Luke.
Ok painting my dining room now looks a whole lot easier. And for that motivational boost I thank you!
Wow I like your performance of the show is a special performance of
Thanks to all those people are in your life n the tim work
Thanks Luke. Enjoyed your tour. Very informative and fun !
Thanks for the comment!
Love Captain Luke!
You always find away to amaze me
What did I do this time 😆
00:02 Best part: the cat
Heh
I remember hating drydock, did it on two crew boats and a workboat back in the early 90's, still good memories.
0:04 that cat noped outta there real quick
He did great! We need more content from him!
I’ll do my best. He’s made for video haha
I was docked next to you in Barcelona last November.
Love the content mate! I have a question for the chef and/or kitchen staff. What is it like to do prepping (knifework) on the boat. I can imagine it can be quite a pain to cut when in heavy chop. Maybe a day in the life of the kitchen crew or the chef?
Excellent video. I love to see the inner workings of keeping a super yacht, super!
Thank you, Jared and Luke, for that walkthroughs!
Thanks Arthur. Good to see you in the comment section.
Well done, Captain Luke, and beautifully edited Jared! Wow.
Awesome video. Gives a great look behind the scenes
Thanks so much GV. I knew many would enjoy this one ☝🏼
@@jaredwatney Well you did a great job of posting it now
Great (opening) 🙄, now I want a plunge pool 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Brilliant video 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Haha it made me want a warm pool 😆
Very sick video Jared. Pass on the thanks to Capt Luke. Hope to see more from him and the channel. Keep it up mate and enjoy that sweet Airbnb.
Thanks a mil bro. He’ll be reading the comments I’m sure
Thanks you - best wishes to both of you, and the cat....
Amazing Video. I'm a Professional Spray Painter for 35 years and I wasn't expecting to see this...
thank you captain Luke
I let him know you enjoyed it
Thank you for making the effort to make contact during this time!!! Thank you!!!!
My absolute pleasure. Thanks for posting such a lovely comment and supporting the videos 😊🍻
Appreciate that you are trying to make content during this weird months
Thank you so much. Doing my best!
Brilliant video, Jared keeping us entertained, ow and Luke is ok 🤪😝🤪👏👍
Haha thanks for the feedback haha
That was very interesting and would like to see more fo that type of video from all over the world!
Shame that cat at the start of the video had a lekke fright 😂 great vid man🔥
The cat wad like " ahhhh what a beautifully peaceful morning. Perfect for relaxat..."
Haha yeah whoops my bad 😂
Awesome video! I work at Feadship myself, the whole process Luke showed was very familiar haha
Ooh, Red Bull. I want some
The Cat at the opening!!! Lol
Again an Amazing video
Levente thanks for being here man 😁 glad you enjoyed it
Funny, when a Yacht goes into the shipyard the budget and work list grows! When a US Navy ship goes into the shipyard, its like how much can we cut from the repair budget and defer!!! 😒😖🤭
Question : how come during normal maintenence do you not see pressure washers being used? Like during normal daily cleaning?
Seems like you see hose water with brushes.
You would think pressure washers would be quicker and easier.
Saving on labor.
During this video we saw pressure washers but the boat was pulled out of the water.
Looked like yearly maintenance regimen.
A great video. Funny and informative.
I must say I also had a few good laughs
That was sweet. I didn't realize the crew worked during a refit.
This was awesome!
Thank you so much 😁
Hey Jared I’ve been a fan since 30k
I appreciate that so much. Thanks Luke
Nice fill in while your stuck in plandemic mode! Luke did a stellar job with this one. Lots of insight on getting a paint job. It’s only money!
Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it.
Jared, you have a great channel! I have to admit I have been binge-watching your videos. Would it be possible to get some content out there about female deckhands? I'm curious about women in this field and if there is still a gender bias between the interior/exterior crew. Keep up the great work--cheers!
I can't even fathom how many millions this paint job and work will amount to, yikes!
probably even more than 4,000 dollars
Probably around $100.000
Should have taken it to Earl Scheib. He would have painted it for 99.95!
What is the first song called?
What would happen if u started the engines while it was in the scaffolding
Bennett Wilke It would damage the engine
Haha what made you think of that.
There will be a huge range of safety precautions that would not allow the boat to start.
Jared Watney 1 cant believe U responded I’ve recently become obsessed with your content and just how positive you are. But I don’t really know y I thought about it. I guess I wonder what is would look like with no water going to the engines and the propellers spinning freely. I grew up around boats. My grandfather has had his 55ft pluckebaum coastal cruiser my whole life but has decided to sell it. I haven’t seen my best friends from the lake in years
Great Video !!!!!
Thanks a mil Barry
No question - the BEST video you have ever done Jared.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That’s funny because I wasn’t in it 😆
@@jaredwatney NOW your getting it ............... (heavy on the sarcasm in this line)
Keep up the great videos.
That was great!!!!!
Thanks Zach!
THANK YOU, very interesting
Happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment
Can you ask him to do a few more showing the progress of the refit?
No wonder these refits end up costing millions! Especially with new paint jobs.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah starts to make sense when you see it like this hey
An aussie!
Indeed
Super vidéos merci 👌
So how many claw marks did you end up with from the cat for splashing him? I know from experience they absolutely do not like to get wet!
I'd liked to have seen the list of fixes Capt Luke ended up with. I hope the owner appreciated his meticulous care.
I see what they mean when they say the price of a yacht is just the beginning of the cost of owning one. The outlay of money is constant and never ending.
kitty got splashed! lol
I felt so bad when watching the video back haha
Those sunglasses make that guy look like Mugatu
Great vid SOOOOO cool
Thanks Albert
Money may not buy happiness, but I'd sure like to try!
Hello Jared, you are available to join the crew of a new yacht in summer season in the Mediterranean?
love ya vids
I’ve always had the question. If youre a crew member on a yacht, do you spend all your time on the boat when it’s being used. Or like if you go to the Bahamas or something, can you enjoy some vacationous activities...
If there’s enough off time, e.g if the guest is off the boat and the captain grant you time off you can go exploring. I am from the Bahamas and a lot of boats travel here and they do have some time off
Cameron Adderley thanks😁
Green Gay you’re welcome
Usually when there are guests on its all go go go and very little time off. When the guests leave and the boat is docked then after work / weekends you can do as you please if you are not on watch or preparing for guests
Jared Watney sounds fun thank you 😃
Holy crap! What a mission. How much would the poor owner have to fork over for a little touch up like this? I now understand why they say that the purchase price of a yacht is not as much an issue as running costs and maintenance.
Maintanence costs on yachts are pretty insane. No way around it unfortunately
The maintenance on these yachts must be staggering.
More than most could ever imagine
Lovely video! Can a freediver with a small boat take over the video? 🤗🤔😏
this was cool
Thanks Frank.
That was pisscool indeed!
Thanks Riaan. Appreciate
Wow is that your house? Incredible pool and view! I wonder how much it costs.
Air bnb, go back one video I think to see it.
Thanks Zander. Yeah I wish it was mine
No hard hats Skipper?
Ohh, me likey - very interesting.
Thanks David. Appreciate the comment
Hey jared . Few questions are you hoping to get back o a boat whe your back is better/ if it already is after this pandemic, and did rebeca leave ariense at the same time or is she planning on working in the boat this season?
Hey Tyler. I have a load of different boats lined up to go on for filming and documenting like I usually do. No plans yet to go as crew. Becs may take some seasonal work if she chooses to but likely be with me as a part of what I’m up to next. She’s highly requested to feature in mire videos so I need to work on that haha
How long does it take to redo a yacht like this (from out of water to back to water)?
why does it say 5 seconds ago
Just posted it
@jaredwatney When are you going to do a live again bro?
I’ll do one soon. Thanks for asking mate
was that ariance in the port by the cruise ship?
Shouldn't the shipyard have quality control people to inspect and catch things like sloppy paint jobs before the customer comes and see's it?
Do the crew stay onboard during dry dock and is there yard workers to do the work or does it depend on the job where the crew or the yard does it?
No the crew usually don’t stay aboard the vessel during yard time. Usually the vessel hire professional to do the yard work.
They hire professionals to do the main paint work and crew often fix and do jobs that make the work space better for the next season or repair small dings and holes etc. they also make sure the contractors are being careful not to damage anything else during this time as many contractors are not as careful as crew unfortunately. Depending on the job, crew will either stay ashore or on the boat depending on the jobs being done
Jared how often is the paint done below the water line, is it a 5 year certification that the yacht goes thru & is it usually done at the same time?
Hey John. The antifoul is done every year or 2 max. There is a big 10 year survey that gets done and a few earlier surveys at 5 years and some done yearly.
Luke would be able to give you a better answer when he reads this
@@jaredwatney that be one of those "hidden" costs that aren't usually discussed, like the outrageous cost of internet connection, thanks for getting back to me so quick, you & your lady stay healthy.
Antifoul is spoken about pretty openly but yeah these all add up to crazy prices boat owners need to consider
Did you leave Ariennce to go on this boat?
No not at all.
Song at the end?
Hello 👋
Hey 👋
What's the name of the shipyard? It was exceptional.
Rybovich marina. I have made an entire video it. Great marina
@@jaredwatney I was very impressed with the quality of the prep work. I'm just curious about the boatyard's methods and how much these repairs cost. Thanks
what engine does she haul
Hopefully in the future a video about the captain when he is on duty
Like if you want..
He already said he’d do it 😁
Perfect, 🙏🤗
You hook me up on yachting industry and watching beautiful life of yacth owners and yacht crew life and then you say f off im off flying my plain...
Do you have a job lined up on another boat or are you taking time off to be a content creator?
Lots of boats to go onboard and film BTS content and charter video content. I’ll be making my way around the world to film on a variety of boats. When the world reopens 😤
👍🏻
👍🏻👍🏻
14:41 is that Arience??
Yeah it was and I was actually standing on the swim platform 😆
Good eye!
I think so
Lol I said the samething
Come on man you scared the cat
What happened to a boat being painted by a man with a 4'' brush?
Thought u had a bad back 🤿🏊🏩
It must be painful to the crew to see her in that shape. This also reminds me that I would never want to crew. I've worked in food service in large hotels for thirty years. We have to be "on" and professional, but not for the amount of time each day that crew has to. my hat goes off to all of you.
Hey Jared what’s the song at 0:54 ?
Song: You know you want it. Artists: Orca
Poor Cat!
Haha yeah it wasn’t to happy haha
👍
👍🏻👍🏻
