Most of the Names are German and "Shiganshina" where Eren lived, is a German City it's called "Nördlingen."

The names and the whole story come from German language and nased on folk German myths legends and tales. As well as Norse Mythology. This is why they have peculiar sounding names.

16:56 the names are german! Most of the characters are german so thats why they look european and why they names sound like that, expect for mikasa im pretty sure shes japanese (thats also why jean said “i just thought you look different from the rest of us, your hair is really pretty) :)

@@RaphAngy No problem, also some of the theme songs have some parts sung in german and also the soundtrack that was put on when Eren’s mom died is all sung in german. Eren’s last name “jaeger” also means “hunter” in german! Shiganshina (Eren’s village) was inspired by a place in germany. Sorry for just spitting out some random facts lol😂
