Streetcar Museum - Maintenance Minutes #1

On episode #1 of Maintenance Minutes, our Master Mechanic Gord McOuat shows you how to replace and test the C-6 air brake valve on London & Port Stanely interurban car #8.
This large radial railcar was built in 1915 and retired in 1961. It was acquired by our museum in 1971 and has been operating here seasonally ever since.

It almost looks like the New York Westchester and Boston Railway interurban streetcar and that railway ended on December 31, 1937 because it went bankrupt and never went to Boston. The New Haven R.R.went ther first by the 1850s and electrified their line in 1907. Also the New Haven had both local and express tracks to NYC. But am glad to see one big interurban R.R. preserved and running.
