It was produced and arranged by Finneas and Dtephen Lipson. Hans Zimmer did the string arrangement. You can listen to the demo of Billie and Finneas its the same without strings :)
Billie and Finneas wrote the song at the end of 2019 when Billie was 17 about to turn 18 [B.D. Dec. 18, 2001; Finneas B.D. 7/30/1997] - on Dec. 19, 2019, the day after turning 18, they were flown to London to record with Hans Zimmer and Orchestra. Received the GRAMMY for "Best Song Written for Visual Media" in 2021 and due to lateness of the Movie getting into Theatres -due to Covid - they did not receive the Oscar for "BEST ORIGINAL SONG" until March 27, 2022 - Billie being the youngest OSCAR winner in the 21st Century. When Billie and Finneas won the Oscar for "What Was I Made for?" from the BARBIE move - winning on March 10, 2024, she became the youngest two-time OSCAR winner in the Academy's history and Finneas the 2nd youngest. I'm a 70 yr old Billie admirer and fan, so I may not be completely objective, but I love your reactions to Billie's songs. In 2021 her song "Everything I Wanted" won the GRAMMY for "RECORD OF THE YEAR" - though Billie said in her acceptance speech, she believe MEGAN THE STALLION should have received it - still amongst many other, that's one to react to. 15 year old Billie wrting and singing 'idontwannabeyouanymore" either THE COLORS SHOW video or the OFFICIAL VERTICAL VIDEO on the Billie Eilish channel is - I believe - a great ballad by a young teenager.
If you have the time there is an excellent interview conducted by Chris Willman with Billie and Finneas, Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr on the making of this song - it is on this channel: NERO The Making of No Time to Die (Johnny Marr, Hans Zimmer, Billie Eilish and Finneas) Dec. 17, 2020 - there are several good interviews, but this is excellent!
Check out all Billie Eilish reactions 😊 :
