I am 23. Not planning on having a baby anytime soon. But I have watched this video and enjoyed it. Why? I found it informative and brave, because it is so important for us women to talk about these topics without making it taboo. I might not need this info right now, but I enjoy the fact that I am lucky to be part of a generation that will have the testimonies and bravrry of women to know from our own perspectives how is it like to deliver a baby. I don't need this video to deliver a baby now, but I need to hear our stories and see that a change is happening. Thank you Carly for being so real and open. Thanks to women like you other women feel more comfortable and comprehend when sharing experiences ❤
you all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me!
It's incredible how positive and upbeat you are all the time yet so honest and open about everything (even the not so nice stuff). I have loved watching you on this amazing journey! x
monthly updates on your life with a newborn + the exercise routine for a fast abdominal recovery? even add some stuff you did not have to apply, but might consider others could benefit. thanks a milion and btw, Jax is gorgeous😍😍😍
As a student midwife, its so lovely to hear about your positive birth experience...our bodies are amazing and birth can be so empowering! Congratulations on your gorgeous baby girl, we share the same birthday 😊
Oh i just cannot thank you enough for working in your industry! Oooh what do you do on your birthdays? I've always been a summer baby so im intrigued! xx
I have no children and I’m single but still watching this as I have followed you for 4 years. Lots of love to you and your family! So happy for you Carly. Hope 2019 is great for you 🥰
I’ve literally never watched a more inspiring woman you are so lovely and your attitude towards everything is amazing! The love you and Leon have is so sweet and the name Jax is incredible and I totally agree with you he is so hot in SOA! 😜 xx
Very late to watch this but what an amazing video. I remember watching a talk by a lady who is 30 and had her first baby 13 years ago. She described being completely traumatised by aspects of giving birth. She didn’t have a difficult birth but she felt totally unprepared. A few days later she began to feel angry that no one had ever prepared her for birth, not scar mongering but a truthful representation of delivery. Thank you Carly for being so open and honest. I cried when you began crying. Congratulations x
Such an amazing birth story. I’m 15 weeks pregnant and I have been so nervous to watch any birth stories, your whole pregnancy has been so positive & birth story was beautiful. I am so nervous of what’s to come but will definitely listen to your positive outlook throughout labour. Congratulations! X
I remember leaving a comment just before my 12 week scan I’m now 30 weeks and having a little boy I’m feeling so positive after hearing your story and ready to smash my labour 💙
I love that your crying I never wanted kids until I had my two sons. I can tell you I get it. It was the worst pain I had ever had but the best thing I have ever did. Hold tight to her because she will grow fast. I feel like my two sons were just babys the other day but 23 and 19 years latter how time goes buy so fast. She is so cute I cant stand it she is so sweet. Bless her little heart. Great story you will never forget it. LOL
Wow I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I found this video so beautiful I’m crying my eyes out but happy tears ! I’m so happy for you and I feel so much more at ease for my own birth now as I want a water birth too ! Congratulations you incredible woman !
Congratulations on going all natural! As a maternity nurse I like hearing women’s’ labor stories and what they think is normal or abnormal, and kudos to you for fighting through it all by yourself!
First birth is the scariest and longest in my experience. I’ve done it 4 times. Faster labours each time 7hr, 5hrs, 4hrs then 3hrs of active labour. (The contractions before that aren’t classed as “labour”) bigger babies each time but each birth is just as amazing! You can request a copy of your delivery notes which is nice to keep and read through and states when labour stage began. Congrats! 💐
I remember when you announced you where pregnant I was so happy for you and Leon and I couldn’t wait to follow your journey nine months down the line and now little Jax is here Wishing you all love xx
I'm due in 6 weeks and I actually love hearing all sorts of labour stories even if they are 39 hours long. It helps prepare me to realise anything can happen and to be open minded. Thanks for sharing.
Since having Pollyanna, I really love hearing about other peoples birthing stories - everyone's is really different and it really is out of our own control. You done amazing, congratulations to you all xx
Oh my goodness, Carly! I was sobbing when you were talking about the bond intensifying between you and Leon and the bond created with baby Jax! You are ‘Carly: Warrior Woman’, you’re amazing!
I'm 34 with a 16, 11 & 9 year old & I never tire of hearing lovely birth stories like yours. I enjoyed all my pregnancies & enjoyed all 3 of my different births. Congratulations Carly & Leon x
Such a gorgeous video and what a gorgeous baby you have made. It sounds like Leon was just thee best possible friend/partner/support/motivator he possibly could have been and I can only dream that I one day find a man that I can have a bond with like you guys do. I love you all so much and you have such an amazingly beautiful family inside and out xxxx
Congratulations, dear Carly! You did a great job! I had a 27 hours labor. I started to shake, when I was 7cm open and I had my contractions every 1min apart. So I asked an epidural. I had it around 1pm and my baby girl was born 5.49pm. The best thing, that I could rest and had enough energy to push after an epidural. I was very lucky, because I pushed just 9min (in fact 3.5 pushes) and she was here! All the nurses were surprised. I am not a very sporty woman, but I did yoga and a lot of walking my whole pregnancy. I teared too, and it didn't heal well, so they had to cut it and stitch it again. After 3 years I can still sometimes feel that area, but it is just uncomfortable. I also consider my labor story to be a good story and that feeling when your baby is on your chest is the best in the world! Congratulations again and I wish you good luck with breastfeeding, because this is another amazing feeling and the best for you and your baby. If your breasts sore just feed your girl as much as you need to, even if you need to wake her up. Have a good luck!! Hugs and kisses.
Congratulations on baby Jax. It was beautiful watching this Carly. My daughter is now 4 months old and I got emotional with you knowing the exact feeling your describing in this video. I too did hypnobirthing. We planned for home birth but ended up delivering in hospital but the hypnobirthing elements came with me to the hospital and made my labour so relaxed and progressed so well. The hospital staff commented on how chilled out the room was when they came in to examine me. So excited for your journey that is motherhood. You should be so proud of yourself and what your body has done. All the best 😀
finally got round to watching this with my fish pie tonight! i cried when you cried. you amazing woman. birth stories never cease to amaze me - all women that do this are amazing xx
I’m 35 weeks and honestly giving birth is always on my mind. I’m ready at times but I still don’t know how my body is going to go through it. It’s terrifying and exciting however watching your video is so positive and uplifting. You’ve sparked such a different kind of positivity for me. A kind that makes me realize I can do anything if I just push through it and have the right mindset💕😘
My goodness Carly you’re absolutely amazing. I feel like so many first time mother’s could not have remained that positive throughout such a long labour. I love the message of this video, how even though your labour definitely wasn’t easy, that you’d do it again and I love how you are able to see the bright side of how your experience brought you closer to your husband. Thank you so much for sharing!
Carly, im pregnant and i absolutely loved hearing this. Its good to know that even tho things might not go to plan, it can still be a postive experience and you can be ok!!! If u had to rate the labour and delivery pain out of 10 what would you rate it xxx
You do whatever you can, pain out of 10, it was the hardest pain i've had to deal with so i'd say 10 but it's not a pain pain, its not like your arm being cut off, its your own body xx
Yea i hope i can stay this calm and have this mindset when its my turn. I once heard Davina Mccall say that labour is Safe pain and i loved that idea. Ps bring us alllll the mummy content. I cant wait to see your journey. Id love to see a baby names we loved but didnt use video to!! Xxx
Girl.. I love you.... Such a real video... My son is 23 and I can tell you that the feeling of love and protection for your little one NEVER changes... :) So happy for you...
When you're talking about her head popping out and the thoughts that were going between you and Leon I thought I was going to cry! I've watched you for a long time and now seeing you as a mummy, I literally have tears in my eyes. This is such a lovely video and I'm so happy you shared your story with us xx
No real words to describe my feelings. Just sheer appreciation and gratitude for you and your story and your willingness to share and your outlook. Thank you
I’m glad your labour wasn’t traumatic, mine was about 2 days slow labour 13 hours active 5 hours pushing then my stitches collapsed because they cut me open, I’m so glad your little princess is happy and healthy! your doing amazing! xxx
Wowww this made me cry, at the point when you were talking about your connection with Leon once Ajax had entered the world. What a woman. Love you Carly 😍❤️
I cried a little watching this! My first was a difficult labour but my second was incredible. So much so that I would love to have a third baby and my second is only just 9 months. I used hypnobirthing too and that together with having a doula gave me a polar opposite birth to the first experience. I agree re the eating thing. First time I didn’t eat and became exhausted quite quickly (I too had long labours at nearly 3 days each time). Second time it was Sunday roasts and jacket potatoes all the way. Plus lots of flapjacks to snack on throughout. Hypnobirthing and the breathing techniques for me ensured I stayed calm and zoned out so I could ride the waves of the contractions. I would thoroughly recommend to any other expectant Mummy’s. The doula also gave me the confidence to believe in my body when I questioned it several times and also reminded me that I had choices throughout the labour and didn’t have to be dictated to by hospital policy. She also helped my husband feel he had a purpose but gave him the freedom to shoot home knowing I had her with me and see our eldest after we’d been away from him a while longer than planned. I’m so glad that whilst your labour might not have been as you had anticipated, you still feel it was a positive experience. All I can say to other expectant Mummy’s is to surround yourself with positive, empowering stories like this as it really is possible to have a positive experience too.
Wow! U did such an amazing job Carly! U r a true warrior! Sometimes labor plans can go out the window, and that’s when “momma bear” mode kicks in and u do whatever is best for baby. U are an amazing mommy already. And kudos to Leon! 💕💕
Just lovely. My youngest is 25 but you never forget the births and I cried with you. Love and best wishes to your new little family (ps I became a grandma on the 6th of Dec) x
Congratulations! This is such a beautiful story. I had my first baby January this year, I wanted a water birth in a midwife led unit but unfortunately ended up in emergency c-section but what I’ve learnt is that you can’t fully plan for anything and just have to go with it. I practised hypnobirthing and even though I ended up c-section it still really helped me in the 28 hours before from my waters breaking, it’s an incredible tool to learn x
I didn’t think I could love you anymore and then I watched this video. You are one amazing lady!! Love how you keep positive through even the most stressful times! ❤️
This is the most gorgeous story, I cried and laughed with happiness all the way through. I hope you love being a mummy and enjoy every moment together xx
I cried so much watching this as it bought me right back to the birth of my second daughter who was born on December 2nd, I also did hypnobirthing and she was born drug free at home. I would definitely recommend a home birth to anyone reading this it was the best experience of my life. My first was born in hospital with an epidural and I found that labour far more painful and terrifying. This time I was only in active labour for 4 hours, I got to 10cm in my shower then birthed her on my bed holding my partners hand whilst my eldest slept across the hall. I felt so relaxed and in control - I genuinely wish I could do it again exactly the same way.
If I had seen this prior to having my little girl I'd have been so much more calm. I pretty much had the same experience with tearing, panic, and paracetamol but over 54mins instead of almost 40hours and no gaps between contractions. Which sounds great, 'poof' she's out, but my god I wasnt expecting it. I planned to hypnobirth and get in a pool, instead I was wailing like a banshee over the back of a hospital bed for pain relief but couldn't have it. You're so honest and open about birth it's lovely. Your little one is adorable, you're doing so well, hats off to you
Well Done you absolute superwoman!! Such a raw true story of labour and birth which I’m sure will help so many parents to be. Your storytelling is always so engaging perhaps you’d consider also doing a breastfeeding video in the future as I’m sure this will help so many people too 💕
Congratulations and thanks for sharing how Jax came into the world. I found out I am pregnant today and not going to lie I am shitting myself for the labour already as its my 1st. You have put me at ease no end xx
Loved the vintage vibe of the thumbnail 💗 My labour story...my water broke just after midnight... didn't realize..went to work. Left at 2pm to hospital..thought he was not head down...was waiting for an OR for cesarean...got checked..was in the canal & I was 4cm. By the time I was wheeled to a labour room, I had fully dialated & he was out in 3 pushes! He was born at 35 wks so it throws you off a bit!!
So many people tell you how terrible giving birth is, thank you for sharing your positive story. I have 7 month old twins and I had to have a section as they were both breech. I was so disappointed at first however when I got my head around it and did my birth plan I was happy that I could still have the things I wanted. We had our own playlist and my husband got to see them being born and be the first to find out the sexes. I had such a positive birth that I think it is so important to share these stories xx
Hats off to you. I’m getting teary with you and it’s so nice to hear how strong Leon was supporting you. You guys are awesome. Labour must make you literally feel like superwoman. Huge congratulations and thank you so much sharing such a special experience. Kisses to jax too, what a lucky little lady to have you two as parents xx
Beautiful story! Labor and delivery never goes as planned. You can never really plan it all out. You can educate yourself and try to be as prepared as possible but as you now know things can go so out of plan from the start! Overall though I think you had a great experience and remembered everything you educated yourself on :) great job momma! Your baby girl is beautiful!
Wow, this made me very emotional. You have a way of talking that is quite special. I can imagine the bonds and feelings you describe. A million congratulations
Congratulations. I've enjoyed so much watching you on this journey so far and you have a wonderful way of telling stories in a very positive but realistic way. Probably one of the most positive birth stories I've seen xx
It just shows that no matter how physically fit you are or how prepared you feel, you can never predict how labour will go. Every birth is different. (I also think it's ok to be honest about the difficult parts, it helps other women to know they're not alone if they go through the same things.)
My first son was huge at 9lb 10 so after pushing for 2.5 hours I was taken to theatre! They tried forceps and vacuum extractor but I ended up having an emergency c section! Weirdly it’s his 18th birthday today as I write this and he’s an amazing young man! Damn kids make you proud! Congratulations on baby Jax and loving the name as I’m also a huge Charlie fan! Xx
Congrats!!! She is beautiful!! ❤️👑❤️👑 I did natural birth (no drugs) with my first baby. The other three all came with an epidural....I rolled in asking for the best drugs they had after the first, lol. And, I had an episiotome for those three also so I didn't tear like the first. Healing was a little harder for my first than the others. The epidural allowed me to sleep during labor and it was so helpful to be able to rest before the pushing. My first was the most difficult birth because I had to be induced. I went into convulsions and I was in labor for 14 hours. I had read all the books that touted natural/drug free birth and felt so much pressure to "do it right". I refused pain meds and relied solely on lamaze/breathing techniques which made the labor and delivery so much more intolerable. With my other three, I was able to enjoy the laboring and have better recollection of the experience since I wasn't in agony for hours. And, like any mother will tell you, I would do it all again because each experience brought my children into the world.
Congratulations :) So emotional I started to cry :') Carly you are so strong! I'm so happy for you and Leon, you sound like an incredible team and Jax is going to have such amazing parents xx
So happy she is here! She is gorgeous ❤ I am so happy you got her tongue tie revised because it can impact on breastfeeding and can create so many other issues. Wishing you all the very best start in life!
You’re story is quite like mine. I was in labor for 34 hours then ended with a emergency c section as my pelvis was too narrow and I couldn’t dilate past 6. Like you, I wouldn’t change one bit of my experience. It was the hardest thing to date that I’ve ever had to do. I now have a gorgeous 14 year old healthy strong young man. It’s all worth it. Great job Mama. Jax is amazing. Xo
My labour was 15 hours and mostly went to plan. She got stuck at the end and I ended up having an episiotomy. Pushing for nearly 2 hours was definitely the hardest part, but she is so worth it. She is 2 weeks old tomorrow and testing us every day!!
So so over the moon for you both, Jax is completely gorgeous! I’ve loved your honesty throughout your pregnancy and now your birthing story - I’m in total awe of your positivity! Wishing you all the happiness in the world 🧡 Sounds as though you’re both on cloud nine, hope you continue to enjoy every second! xxx
You are a rockstar! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm not pregnant nor planning to be anytime soon, but I love the honesty in your video. Congratulations on your little one! 🎊❤
Wowzers Carly, i don't know why but I have my legs crossed very tightly listening to this lol its just mad how you think birthing goes and how different it is for every woman. Just love Jax and the sweet jibber jabber noises she made during this, defo worth it. Respect to Leon he sounds like a perfect rock, bless him 👌🙌 xx
Thank-you so much for sharing your story. It was really incredible to hear your labour story and to hear of the importance of working out and staying fit and strong through your pregnancy. Just hearing too that labour can be different from what you planned and maybe a bit scary, but still be a very positive and is very helpful to hear. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!
I decided to get an epidural because I was overtired, shaking and really cold. I was almost 8cm when I did so needless to say I took a very very short nap before I started pushing lol thank you for sharing this with so much truth. I think it’s so important to talk about this !.
I had a similar birthing story. Mine was 36 hrs. Every time I went to the hospital I was so disappointed because I was so tired and in so much pain. But I would do it 100 times if I had to. The minute you hold that child is just incredible 💕
I was pregnant at the same time as you . I was due end of January unfortunately I lost my twins in September. I had to be induced for labour. I feel a bit jealous of you right now but happy on the same time you have your little girl. I had vanishing twin and the little girl survive the longest but still had to say goodbye at the funeral.
Absolutely beautiful! Congratulations! Giving birth was the best experience of my life. Cherish every moment because it goes so fast! Much love to you all. xx
Hey Carly!! I love how amazingly positive and happy you are. I would love to see vlogs. How you are adapting your lifestyle with Jax. Such an amazing moment for you to share with the world. XX
I absolutely loved this video! Baby Jax is so beautiful and you’re such a warrior! Amazing job, mama! I’ve been following you for quite some time now and we were due around the same time! I had my baby girl on the 22nd and had a very similar birth story. 💕 There is nothing like this feeling! Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. 💛💛
You are absolutely incredible. You should both be so proud of yourselves and thank you for being such an inspiration. Your openness and authenticity is a breath of fresh air! Sending love to your new family of 3 (+ doggo) xxxx
Sounds like you had a good labour, I’m 27 weeks and I hope my labour is similar to yours, you made me feel a lot more comfortable and less stressed about it, hopefully everything goes well I’m due on the 19th of may
Could we have Leon's perspective/delivery story?
Of course, ive just asked him and he said he'd film it! xx
This would be really good to see/hear!

You guys asked for it, here it is! What would you like to see next?
Carly Rowena I would be interested in seeing a Day in the Life with a Newborn or a Morning Routine! X
Day in the life also how is Leon doing?
I was actually thinking of filming that this week! xx
Taking the baby home! How it felt? How it changed your life? How you and Leon have bonded?
monthly updates on your life with a newborn + the exercise routine for a fast abdominal recovery? even add some stuff you did not have to apply, but might consider others could benefit. thanks a milion and btw, Jax is gorgeous😍😍😍

I've watched you for a long time and now seeing you as a mummy, I literally have tears in my eyes. This is such a lovely video and I'm so happy you shared your story with us xx
Oh im so sorry i made you cry!! xxx
No real words to describe my feelings. Just sheer appreciation and gratitude for you and your story and your willingness to share and your outlook. Thank you
I’m glad your labour wasn’t traumatic, mine was about 2 days slow labour 13 hours active 5 hours pushing then my stitches collapsed because they cut me open, I’m so glad your little princess is happy and healthy! your doing amazing! xxx
Oh im so sorry to hear this but so happy your little one is happy and healthy xx
Exactly, you just do what you gotta do! xx
These made me so emotional and brought back memories of my labour! You did amazing! Thank You for sharing your story xx
When you started crying so did I 😭 wishing you and Leon and Jax a lifetime of happiness 😘
Your storytelling is always so engaging perhaps you’d consider also doing a breastfeeding video in the future as I’m sure this will help so many people too 💕
Beautiful, just beautiful!! I cried when you cried cause those were tears of love and strength. Congratulations to you and Leon!!
Congratulations and thanks for sharing how Jax came into the world. I found out I am pregnant today and not going to lie I am shitting myself for the labour already as its my 1st. You have put me at ease no end xx
OMG im so excited for you don't worry i felt the same!! xx
Oh thank you, we took our first photo on a polaroid and so i wanted to use it! omg you are amazing xxx
Wine guns and paracetamol! That's what I take for a bit of a headache! Well done.
hehe, thank you xx
No need to apologize for getting emotional!! Thanks for the share! What a wonderful story!
Well, my heart just grew 3 sizes 😭 Raw and emotional, congratulations beautiful Bustin family. ❤️
Your positive attitude is just SO amazing and I'm so happy that Jax and you are healthy and happy! (and Leon of course)
It certainly does, i felt like a warrior! xx
Bloody loved this! I haven’t got that awful overwhelming feeling like I usually do when people explain their labour story x
So happy you enjoyed it! xx
Carly Rowena 💖💖💖
My first son was huge at 9lb 10 so after pushing for 2.5 hours I was taken to theatre! They tried forceps and vacuum extractor but I ended up having an emergency c section! Weirdly it’s his 18th birthday today as I write this and he’s an amazing young man! Damn kids make you proud! Congratulations on baby Jax and loving the name as I’m also a huge Charlie fan! Xx
Congrats!!! She is beautiful!! ❤️👑❤️👑
I did natural birth (no drugs) with my first baby.
What a beautiful birth story. Who else cried the minute Carly did? 😭❤️
Congratulations :) So emotional I started to cry :') Carly you are so strong! I'm so happy for you and Leon, you sound like an incredible team and Jax is going to have such amazing parents xx
So happy she is here! She is gorgeous ❤
I am so happy you got her tongue tie revised because it can impact on breastfeeding and can create so many other issues.
Xo
You are amazing xxx
My labour was 15 hours and mostly went to plan. She got stuck at the end and I ended up having an episiotomy. Pushing for nearly 2 hours was definitely the hardest part, but she is so worth it. She is 2 weeks old tomorrow and testing us every day!!
Wow just wow! Such a beautiful emotional story! You are truly glowing.
Why am I absolutely sobbing? I’m so so happy for you both xxxx
Oh charlotte im sorry i made you cry! xx
Thank you for being so open and honest, this was so lovely to watch and I had tears in my eyes! Congratulations to you both! xx
What a beautiful story about Jax- brave lady!!!! Well done and so much love to the three of you x
So so over the moon for you both, Jax is completely gorgeous! I’ve loved your honesty throughout your pregnancy and now your birthing story - I’m in total awe of your positivity! Wishing you all the happiness in the world 🧡 Sounds as though you’re both on cloud nine, hope you continue to enjoy every second! xxx
Thank you so much!! xx
LOOK WHO'S BACK! YAY!
My Fiancé and I are planning on starting a family next year after we are married so I found this so informative. Thank you! 😊
I decided to get an epidural because I was overtired, shaking and really cold. I was almost 8cm when I did so needless to say I took a very very short nap before I started pushing lol thank you for sharing this with so much truth. I think it’s so important to talk about this !.
So much love for you and your little family, Carly!! You are a warrior!
How beautiful ❤️ congratulations. I had a little cry with you when you were describing how the birth bonded you all as a family.
Much love X
It really did, everything has changed xx
Same! I remember the gushing love I felt for my husband at that moment.
I had a similar birthing story. Mine was 36 hrs. Every time I went to the hospital I was so disappointed because I was so tired and in so much pain. But I would do it 100 times if I had to. The minute you hold that child is just incredible 💕
Same, so proud of you for doing it! xx
What a beautiful, perfect little being you brought into this world. Merry Christmas!
I love how real you were with this. Glad you're all ok x
Much love to you all. xx
I can't believe it's already been 3 weeks! x
Congratulations you superwoman ! Welcome to motherhood, thanks for sharing this personal journey with us all.

Such a honest and positive birth story, been looking forward to hearing it!! Well done Carly and Leon! Jax is gorgeous 😍 xxx
Oh thank you xx
Sounds like you had a good labour, I’m 27 weeks and I hope my labour is similar to yours, you made me feel a lot more comfortable and less stressed about it, hopefully everything goes well I’m due on the 19th of may
