Thx Matt/Gill - outstanding film work u boys do is something special - puts one’s mind at ease & allows for brief immersion into the fishing/environment… bones & views are unbelievable there- proper happy days 🤙🏼
So great to see the fly rods in action and that bonefish footage in the surf…just incredible! Looks like a fantastic location. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the trip went! 😀
Wahooooooo…. In my humble opinion , the most epic video, regarding location , quality of shooting, and technicality of the fishing. Mr Professor, we have reached a new level , and it really feels like it. Most enjoyable. Thank you for the adventures Chris
WOW!!! so jealous, sitting here in Calgary having a cuppa before going work at Fish Tales Fly Shop, witch is great but dreaming of this exact place. Thanks for sharing you bloody legend :)
Awesome trip, wow. Smashing the bones and you made it look easy. Really like the surf bones video- amazing. Plus, the double bones is a rarity. Well done boys 👍
Holy crap visited my island home. Hope the boys treated you well and judging by the video the fishing was insane. Love your work Matty and thanks for giving the people a tatse of what Cocos Is has to offer. It really is a magical place
I've stalked and caught bones in the Bahamas, Belize, and the Yucatan, but what you saw and experienced tops them all. I completely agree with SledorFish, below, that the three-minute sequence of the bones in the surf was absolutely stunning. Best, Chris (Maine, USA)
Nice one mate! Used to live up there 10 years ago and fly fishing was only just taking off up there, great to see its thriving! The old jetty used to have the biggest GT’s I’ve ever seen dominating the end but i believe that may be gone now. Great vid! Would love to get back there!
Also, the guide I went with said the Trout were outcompeting the maori wrasse for food, so its encouraged to take them. The maori wrasse are in decent numbers, and you're allowed to take them for a feed, except for one small green zone. Idk if I could take one but I bet they would be tasty
Great video as usual - I'm not sure, but it looked like you were doing the bimini hitch 'airside' - if you travel through a British airport security will confiscate any fishing line and the reel it is on, on the dubious grounds it could be used to tie someone up on the plane - so don't put any tackle, never mind hooks in your carry on luggage.
Pacfic bones look longer and thinner than Atlantic ones. Used to catch jumbos in Fl Keys and Biscayne Bay but that fishery has declined over the last 20 years.
Rookie error here. Should have been titled “Surviving an attack from the worlds fastest fish on a remote tropical island with my girlfriend (or a fella that looks like him)” 😂 cool vid 👌
Only real fisherman can appreciate truly and full this video unreal experience!! Glad you could share it with us cheers Matty and Gilly
appreciate it mate

Fish whistles haha first I’ve heard that one… Looks like a sick bone 🦴 trip! Look forward to the next vid 💪🏾
Bones for bones - amazing. I think I've added this to the bucket list. Awesome, and thanks for the vid.
its just one of those fish you need to catch

The bonefish tailing in the waves almost on the beach was amazing! I need to take a tropical fishing trip again.
That looks like a hell of a trip. Can't wait to see the rest of it. Love your drone work. Very solid. Cheers

Great video, Matt. Beautiful place.

I could only imagine what it was like back them.
WOW
amazing fishing mate!
love to fish for bonefish. I actually caught one on the bottom of 300' off florida east coast 12 miles. Crazy beautiful there
Such an amazing video like always😊😊❤
Beautiful place, epic fishing! How's the turtle at 31:00
haha yeah there was 100s better to stay still and let them come to you then move and make them spook the whole flat haha
Awesome mate !!
Wow very satisfying Big fish strike, I really like your channel full support from me have a nice day 👍🙏🙏 35:06
Just fantastic 🦈
Super fly an rock an roll , silver bars !
Epic Matty! Was there in June, such a cool place. Also, fun fact - the only trout species they have there is passionfruit trout.
Also, the guide I went with said the Trout were outcompeting the maori wrasse for food, so its encouraged to take them.
The maori wrasse are in decent numbers, and you're allowed to take them for a feed, except for one small green zone. Idk if I could take one but I bet they would be tasty
yeh that's what the boys said to me. if we got one the plan was to try it out for the first time
Ive been to Christmas Isl. similar fishing awesome stuff here tho.
Love heading into the weekend with a new vid! Any chance you could let us know what fly gear the gents all used?
Looked like a T&T Sextant with Shilton reel in the beginning. Nice set up!
Great video as usual - I'm not sure, but it looked like you were doing the bimini hitch 'airside' - if you travel through a British airport security will confiscate any fishing line and the reel it is on, on the dubious grounds it could be used to tie someone up on the plane - so don't put any tackle, never mind hooks in your carry on luggage.
yeah their the same here but we had our check in luggage with us at the time and made sure it all went in there
Awesome location
Hey I just wandered what the black pack you were using is? It looks mint.
its a water proof bag made by Cavy fishing
You guys should see the bones in oahu, hawaii...monsters.
OOOOOOOF! Been wanting to get there for way too long.
its definitely worth it
Grey ghosts 🤘🤘
my favorite type of fishing, tailing bones
Epic Adventure
Awesome ! Costa Rica?
Cocos islands, Indian ocean
Looks like you took the guide for a fishing trip
I did spot a few fish before him which I reminded him of regularly
Absolute bone-town out there. What a stunning 1st day holy shit
Come to Christmas Island next you’ve got a tinny waiting for you
thanks bro
Very nice!
Try to get a GT on the FLY ROD from shore, not from the boat!
Enjoy!!!
I have mate. its an incredible experience just very rare
that hookup was of its bloody head how good
Stay in Perth and try catch some western Aus dhu fish
next time if the weather lines up I will for sure
Pacfic bones look longer and thinner than Atlantic ones. Used to catch jumbos in Fl Keys and Biscayne Bay but that fishery has declined over the last 20 years.
that's interesting I haven't caught both so I wouldn't be able to compare but id love to catch a 10lb. that's the next goal
Rookie error here. Should have been titled “Surviving an attack from the worlds fastest fish on a remote tropical island with my girlfriend (or a fella that looks like him)” 😂 cool vid 👌
out of the ball park again Matty.
I cant do that, i'd be dead from a heatstroke LONG before i could hook a bone but i enjoy watching so it's all good.
weather their was dry and 27c was actually stunning
Yeah but i start feeling sick here in Norway when the temp reaches 20c:(@@PelagicPursuit89
Magnificent. Roosters next.
2024 will have rooster fish in there
They look like XL sand whiting so sick
yeah just really fast ones haha
Gotta love a nice tailing bone
Mexico or Costa Rica?
cocos islands
👍💯
In time for dinner 🤓
Bonefish paradise
🤙😎
You blokes drive with the steering wheel on the wrong side and fish with the reel handle on the wrong side 😂
