If we go into the playoffs next season being predictable with the analytics and matchups we will be out the playoffs fast again. I hope and pray we have a different approach because once again the roster loaded, but doesn’t mean anything if the team isn’t managed the right way. Seems like dave roberts is always never sure of himself.

Love daves honesty. People who thought we lost shohei because of his comments are delusional

I don't know why Shohei could not play outfield, he's a great athlete and would do great in the Outfield.

Bcuz he pitches. Once he stop pitching, he'll be at first base or RF. Ppl are so funny thinking ohtani will be only a DH once he stop pitching. Ohtani is super competitive, can't imagine him sitting and just waiting for his at bat and not having complete impact on the game by also playing defense

How can a player say 'no' being recruited by Ohtani?

if he's the type that wants to be the big dog in the house.
with ohtani in town, everyone else no matter how skilled gets overshadowed

If Dodgers also get Yamamoto, the rest of the league is in trouble.

Otahni is so far ahead of MLB and the Dodgers on this and all future deals that maybe he’s the best businessman currently in baseball, too. In 2033 when this deal ends, what kind of deal will he sign then? AND the Dodgers have to start paying him $68 million a year for a decade. Maybe Los Angeles just gives Shohei the franchise to stay.

Well he'll be 40 yrs old when this deal ends so that will prob be it. Maybe he'll buy a team and honestly I don't see many guys deferring money like this. Most players are in it for themselves when it comes to money. Ohtani makes tens of millions in endorsements now and he absolutely wants to win and didn't want to soak up their declared payroll now. I don't think he would have stayed with the Angels if they offered $800 mil. He knows the dodger brand and their willingness to get great players is better.

Ohtani has an opt out if Friedman leaves the team, but no mention of Roberts in the contract.
So, I wish Dan would have asked, "Who's really going to manage the team.....you or Ohtani?"

Roberts. Nice guy but should've been fired a year ago. His pitching decisions have cost the Dodgers at least one, probably 2 WS titles. If he's not replaced, LA will continue to contend but never win it all.

Identity woke politics they’ll never fire him because it’s a bad look to them, he’s their first asian/black manager. When his contract is up at the end of 2025 hopefully Dodgers choose to move on.
