    All these complicated streamers out there and then you have this beast right here that just flat out catches fish. Love this pattern.

    Of course, after I tied 12 of the others, I found this! Both are epic !

    One of my favorite big fish flies . Awesome pattern .

    Much better than the original video Brian! This is actually exactly how I tie them but with the addition of the Polar Chenille on the hook shanks.

    Haha I watched the other video a while back and it cracked me up because it sums up my fly tying attempts.... this pattern is awesome! Great videos! Love the work and especially the streamer crons!

    Brian- you definitely redeemed yourself from the first vid with this one. After I watched that, I went to Mike and bought his tying sequence because those multiple stacks made it look very difficult. This video makes it look soooo muuuch easier. Good stuff

    I always think tying it in like that hold every back more, makes it sleek. Do you lose anything not building it up at the front like others.

  • @idahok9trapper470
    @idahok9trapper470 7 лет назад

    Tied mine in the front with black over pink with white on the bottom and looks just like a rainbow trout .
    Still looking for the perfect color choices for imitating a white fish without tying it in all white . This is a big fish killer and if I could only fish one pattern this is it , tied in a assortment of colors for different conditions is all i would ever need . But night fishing with a big ole mouse fly is the Bomb . Thanks

    What do you go off of to make the length of the tail consistent?

    Any recommendations for a salt hook on these? I've had decent sized striped bass open those 1/0 B10S hooks like a can of tuna. Thanks!

      Oh, wow......I have had Stripers up to 50" on 1/0 B10s. You might try a Gama Sp-11 3L3H www.feather-craft.com/gamakatsu-sp-11-3l3h

    Hay I was just wondering if you could tell me If it matters if you put the second Clump of bucktail

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  7 лет назад

      As long as your taper and proportions are right....it doesn't matter.

      Sorry I didn’t respond but wouldn’t that make it swim upside down

    If im right do you guys typically fish your streamers down on the white at norfork and bull shoals? I fish near the beaver dam tailwater. I have wanted to fish streamers other than woolies. I really enjoy tying streamers, especially the articulated streamers. Have you ever fished any of the articulated streamers with any luck near beaver dam?

      TheCracraftExperience Big streamers will catch fish in any body of water. You may have to back off on size a little depending on the fish present in the system, but they will catch fish. This style isn't a numbers game though.....be prepared to have your hat handed to you quite a bit-----but when it happens, you will never forget it.

      I have tried a smaller articulated streamer. I might try a couple different patterns and just get out there on the water.

      TheCracraftExperience Time okn the water is about 3000% of the deal. 👍

    Brian: I know this streamer is made of streamer staples and is one of your go-to flies on the North Fork and White Rivers. That said, have you talked to Feather-Craft about putting together a bundle or kit, for lack of a better term, that includes the core materials for tying your more popular streamers? The Double-Deceiver is a perfect example.
    I'm asking because truth be told, I'm lazy and I hate to shop. It doesn't matter if it's online or in-person. If one click gets me all the stuff I need and I don't have to pick out the correct size hook(s), color Schlappen or Chenille, etc. I'm buying it that way. It saves me time and takes out the guesswork. As a side note, they should also embed your RUclips video, or at least link to the video, on the bundle page. You'd get more views and they'd get more sales. My 2¢.
    Keep up the great work! Love this reimagined way to tie it and am looking forward to tying my own soon.

    Would you change the hook size at all for smallmouth? Also are you throwing this on a sink tip or some other line? As always best tying videos out there!

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  7 лет назад +1

      Austin Mitchell Depends on the river. I usually lean toward the mantra of small stream = smaller flies....larger stream = larger flies.

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  7 лет назад +1

      Austin Mitchell I fish these on at least an intermediate line....but mostly T3 or T6.

    What’s embarrassing about the first? I’ve tied several like the old one and caught tons of fish on them. I do like this one tho. I’ll be tying a few of these next. Looks like they’ll take way less time than the previous version

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  7 лет назад +2

      This version swims WAY better too!

      flyfishingtheozarks well I whipped one up last night in a bit of a brown trout looking pattern. Definitely quicker to tie. They look really cool too
