Definitely the best soundbar out there. The rs5s take it up 100 points and the 360 spatial sound mapping with 7.1.4 speakers make it sound absolutely fantastic

I love my A90J 65 and I think this HTA7000 soundbar is the one to go for along with it’s much larger subwoofer. However you have convinced me to buy the smaller rear speakers in addition to the larger ones which I had in mind and I may snap up the HT A9 system to complete the entire package!!! 😊

What a great detailed review, thank you so much! Just got my A7000 today and it sounds amazing! I’m undecided where to connect my PS5. I also have the A90J and I’m wondering if you recommend hooking it up directly to the 4K/120hz HDMI input from the back of the TV or should I connect the PS5 directly to the soundbar speaker. I heard VRR is not supported on the A7000 which is the feature to take full advantage on the PS5 to the A90J.
Hi Justin. Nice video. One question. My living rooms sidewalls are not equidistant from center where I will place the soundbar. Does it drastically affects performance? I am planning to buy the same setup as you have shown. Will the sound optimization sort this out?

I just ordered this setup yesterday (but with the larger sub). I’m in an apartment, and a dedicated system just isn’t going to be the best option. My Elevate does a great job filling the space, so I’m excited to see how this compares. But damn, it’s a lot of money - a literal leap of faith. Cheers, everyone!
UPDATE: just arranged for the return of all of it. The right rs5 crapped out after less than 3 weeks. Amazon won’t exchange, only refund (even though they’re in stock). That tells me that Sony knows there’s a problem with them. The 7000 wasn’t worth it’s price tag, either. This whole setup was an unfortunate bust. Sony should just stick to TV’s.

Question, when you turn the TV off does the sound bar also turn off?
Hi. I have this Soundbar, the HT5000 coupled with the A90J. I have an issue with the quick settings menu in that although the additional Soundbar settings become available and on the whole work very well, the sound mode setting is greyed out and hence not selectable. The only way to change this setting to to revert the speaker setting from audio system to tv speakers. Is there some hidden setting I need to allow this to become available?

I would of went with the a9 it’s $2000 same as the a7000 with the new Dolby rears but sounds so much better minus the center channel that’s still better on the a7000 but for the best Dolby atmos the a9 is the way to go I had the a7000 returned it got the a9 and wow what a difference

The rear speaker with combined 180W sounds quite powerful.. it looks just like the HT-A9, just that in a nice black shade. Wonder if 4 of these speakers are the same with HT-A9 but without the “brain” unit/module
No a9 are bigger and significantly more powerful
how would you rate this setup against the sonos arc, with 2 sonos ones, and the sonos sub?

I went on a 2+ year search for the right living room sound solution. I tried every high-end sound bar, including the HT-A7000. None of them were good for everything. On that note, your upward firing speakers are worthless with that space you have them in.
I SO wanted to be happy with a packaged wireless solution, but it just isn’t there. I finally broke down and tried what I considered “old school” wired speakers, processor, amp - and it sounds exponentially better than any sound bar system, especially for both TV and music.

Soundbars are for people who have smaller space or want to deal with the wiring / setting up. Especially the older people. Apartments you can’t set a sound system but the soundbar works perfectly for it lol

Sony has a system that does have 4 speakers that you can use with a sub but it is expensive.
