- How to Use Chopsticks - In this video I show you how to hold chopsticks correctly using your right hand.
Many people hold chopsticks in a variety of ways but this is technically the correct way to use chopsticks properly and the best way to learn how to use chopsticks for beginners. The style of chopstick can vary a little, be it Chinese chopsticks, Japanese chopsticks or Korean chopsticks but the technique for holding chopsticks is the same. Sometimes called Chinese sticks or Chinese food sticks learn how use Chinese sticks easy.
As well as showing you how to use chopsticks correctly in this step by step chopsticks tutorial I also show you how to practice and get the repetition and teach you how to eat with chopsticks too. Once you learn how to use chopsticks properly then its just practice and you will be able to eat with chopsticks in no time.

I guess he thinks we're all as dumb as a box rocks. The supposedly left hand version nothing but this same video but he's flipped the image.
I made no secret of this. In-fact not only does it say so in the description, and why, I also literally showed the screen being flipped at 14 seconds in. It makes no difference, the outcome is exactly the same, ie it makes it easier for left handed people to follow.

I have tried for over 40 years to use chopsticks. I never succeeded until I saw your video. What’s even better is, I just ate about 10 chocolate covered raisins…with chopsticks! How awesome is that. I didn’t have any toffee or caramel popcorn, so I figured chocolate covered raisins would be good practice. Thank you so much!

That's the idea, doesn't really matter so much what the snack is as long as it's something u enjoy, so the practice will be enjoyable, as to learn them it's basically just practice. I have never been able to use chopsticks and I literally nailed it straight away with this video! For me it wasn’t what I was doing with the thumb that was the issue it was what I was doing with the middle finger. I was resting it on the bottom one and just using the index finger to control the top, instead of using them both to control the top one! Thank you so much!

Yeah, it was the same for me too, but it does get better and easier with practice, thankfully. I think in the beginning we hold them quite tight to help stop them from slipping, but as we get better our hand naturally relaxes, plus it gets stronger. Good luck!

@@dianiniii make sure you’re relaxing the hand when you’re first learning. You might just be subconsciously tightening muscles in the hand that doesn’t need tightening

I was taught the method where you hold the bottom chopstick on your middle finger and only use your index and thumb to hold the top one. I was struggling because it was slipping and would never allign. The extra finger on top helps so much with strenth and alligning the chopsticks. Thank you! Next time I get sushi I won't be embaressed and cramped in the hand!

Thank you. Well this is technically the 'correct' way to use them but I'm of the opinion if you can already use them a different way then you're fine, native users use them all different ways too.
