Such great variation of airlines back in the 1980s and 90s with all the classic beauties such as the dc10, tristar, A300s and 747s
Some most interesting shots around 4:20. Numerous Skytrain DC-10s, Delta L1011s, even a Pan Am L1011, which had gone to Delta by about 1986. Some very rare footage.
I fondly remember my aircraft spotting days at Gatwick. Those classic aircraft types were wonderful. Out of all those many airlines of the day I believe only a handful now remain 😢
Me too, I went loads as a child in the late 70s early 80s, great times watching from the balcony. Great Airlines in Dan air, British Caledonian, Britannia, Braniff International, Air Europe to name but a few
This all takes me back especially the Thames material of Heathrow. I remember it so well from my youth.
Have to say I really like this channel. I'm running an espionage RPG game set in the 1980s and these videos really help me with visual inspiration for the 'look' of the game.
Some excellent footage of Dan-Air and British Caledonian. And nice to see a TriStar in the British Airtours version of Landor livery (before it became Caledonian).
Air Europe, Britannia, Dan Air will always be golden days. Whoever destroyed Britannia should live in shame.
My favourite decade
Me too. On a different note, you do make exceedingly good cakes. ;)
MM0SDK many thanks!! Hours baking to receive nice comments like that!!😂😂 and that decade things just seemed simpler.
Great to see my first airline Dan Air especially the airbus A300B4 that I did my first ever flight on, I was one of 5 stewards they hired after always refusing to have any
Very interesting video. Especially all the BAC 1-111’s. I may be a little partial as I flew a corporate 1-11 back then. Flew into Gatwick several times.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the password. I love any help you can give me.
@Houston Brysen Instablaster =)

Thanks so much, you saved my account !
@Houston Brysen glad I could help =)
I worked at Gatwick from '83 to '90.
Shame to see Air New Zealand no longer flies to the UK!
6:22 " Queen of The Skies " Garuda Indonesia 😍😍😍
"Gatwick Airport in association with Canadian Club Whiskey, welcome you aboard Gatwick Transit"
"While you're in the North Terminal, don't forget to visit The Avenue shopping mall..."😅
Good old ‘Dan-Air’ we called it Dan-Dare….😊
DAN AIR WERE THE BEST
Amazing insight to Gatwick during this interesting period in time, its all very posh public school accents, gosh, how things have changed.
Glory days for plane spotters - such a variety of airlines.Its a waste of time now.
I use to work as ground crew and how things have changed for pilots how they used to be treated like kings now there like dime to a dozen and a lot more airlines going down the drain with the covid for a long long time
Stop 10 not around anyone inappropriate
