Colin Bell should surely be up there with all the English Greats along with Leed's Allan "Sniffer" Clarke and Derby's goal-scoring phenomenon, Kevin Hector.
Aek fans, Thanks for this excellent 90mph Manchester derby-both teams going full tilt with Lee and McIlroy particularly impressive for their respective sides!
Fascinating to see this. Standing up behind the goal that became the North Stand seats; (obv) no segregation them days; BUT clearly trouble expected on the terraces - police sat all around the ground; the end of the era when men used to attend in shirt and tie - you can see one or two still but if you see similar games by the mid-70's this had more or less gone.City in trad shirts, United sporting a new type. Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant game. An all time Manchester classic - if you're over 55!
Francis Lee getting furious at Best for diving, he'd be furious the whole match these days! Ahhh, the days when the ref didn't blow for a foul every 10 seconds and no one pretended they'd broken their leg every time they got tackled. What a shame it's got like it has.
You can feel the atmosphere even now 49 years on....fantastic stuff.
I don’t watch football anymore... if they still played it like this , I would
Not a chance, there hairstyles would go out of place .
Overrated, overpaid and full of self importance
What a great player was Colin Bell of City! Franny Lee wore his heart on his sleeve.
Great to see, United still great to watch city possible the best team in England then.!!!!
And now, come on City!
Colin Bell should surely be up there with all the English Greats along with Leed's Allan "Sniffer" Clarke and Derby's goal-scoring phenomenon, Kevin Hector.
If this game was today, the ref would have blown for about 50 fouls and ruined the game. A man's game back then and both teams were excellent
Fantastic match. Well done both
Aek fans,

What has happened to football this the game we fell in love with not the afraid to loose dross we get now.
Was there that day- great game.
That's how football should be played, both teams served up a great game, not like the dross the overpaid so called modern players put on show.
Right, well said!!!
Spot on, actually dribbling the ball not pointless passing back or sideways and proper tackling
What a vibrant and amazing play...that's entertainment...folks!!! That's authentic football...

I went to Belle Vue after the game a ritual at the time! Happy Days! great game!
Brilliant game, it had everything... no crowd segregation back in the day.
Gran espectáculo. Antes el fútbol era deporte
Colin the KING.
Remember this when I was in the infants at primary school
I think I was around 9 at the time.
If I didn't have my mute button, I wouldn't be on this medium, Thank god for small mercies.
I was 3, but remember many of these names on my panini stickers when I was older. This was also when the city crowd was noisy - come on the blues!
Not quite sure if I heard this right from commentator Gerald Sinstadt "that Francis Lee was to give £50" or "lose 50lbs"!
The 70's game was much better in many ways than the current set up, we have always had divers and cheats, But today, they are all over the pitch.
What a game! Lee complains about Best diving then dives himself for a penalty.
Franny " the firebrand" Lee!
lol it's 1970s but the movements of the camera are better than my country's football league broadcaster in 2020
Why was there no kids at main road? Because their mums used to say, keep away from that main road!
billy bunter cheating a penalty as was his usual game!
George Best?
