Venice will never be the same. Not nearly as many people as before. The energy was always electric. Even the homelessness (before it got out of hand) was always a part of the beach vibes. The drum circles that defined a perfect Sunday afternoon is no more. I will always be glad that I've lived during a time when Venice was VENICE!
Agree. Venice used to be shoulder to shoulder crowded by tourists from all over the world. Since the homeless encampments, the water stink, and the soil was contaminated. They have done an excellent job cleaning it back up. 👏
I agree, I visited Venice about 15 years ago & I think it was so much more crowded but of course even before social media like everywhere Venice was definitely off the chain BUT when I went last year it was nowhere close to the excitement & crowds of decades ago.
The drum circle was the place to be at sunset. BUT Venice is still Venice.
The U.S is not the same in general.Its modern day Babylon now what do we expect.I got the great memories of the 90s that keeps me going.Alot of black unity back then 🕎🙏🏾

Thanks for sharing this video with us, Czech. Venice and Redondo Beach used to be my two favorite spots when I lived in Las Angeles. It's good to see that they've cleaned up all the homeless encampment that once existed.
I dont really miss Cali, but I do miss the convenience of walking out my door, just steps from the beach.

@Czechineffect Yes, I lived there for many years. I relocated several times with my job. I would love to go back to visit, but time won't allow me to. Videos like yours keep me up to date on what's going on. 🤘❣️

I miss Venice Beach. I grew up in Venice and it is very different than it used to be. But I see it still has that vibe and energy which is always electric. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Great memories of Venice Beach during my 14 years living in Los Angeles, especially in the 80s and 90s when performers did their thing. I lived in Carson and San Pedro but I’m originally from Miami (NW 24th Avenue) and the ladies 🔥💯

My father lived in Cali until he passed in 1999. I used to make him take me to Venice Beach every time I visited him.
And you said it Perfectly Bro, my Grandma is from the Carriabean originally and she even admits that Cali weather is the Best, she's been living out here 50years and never moved back to Puerto Rico 💯

I love California and living just fine. Most people that I know that left ends up boiling down to they cannot afford it. More then half want to now comeback but are not able to. As equity is not enough to buy in California. So now they have to come vacation to do things. Each their own but makes no sense if still constantly coming back or wishing you can.

I disagree. Old Venice had the perfect mix of everything. Even the homeless was a part of the culture albeit it did get out of hand.

Damn Czech, I probably just missed you at Venice Beach. My wife and I live on the East Coast, but we visited California two weeks, and went out to Venice Beach and Santa Monica pier one day. After walking around sightseeing around Venice Beach, we had some drinks and food at one of the bars on the boardwalk! It was definitely a vibe! People say it’s changed, but I love Venice Beach!

Back in the 80s my family would set up at Venice at 6am some holidays. What a time. “Throw my azz in the glass” was the brotha performing on the boardwalk where he walked on crushed bottles he collected from the restaurants.

I used to live in southern california for two years. I even went back for a few visits over the years. I like the laid back vibe that I got. Cali is a big place and lots of sides to it. San Bernadino, San Diego, LA, Oakland are all very different.
I love the beach so no doubt cali and me get along well. I also like sunny weather. No knock on Florida but California people to me just seemed so much hipper.
In California you have the wealthy areas ad then the not so wealthy areas. I suppose that you will probably show the different sides. I have never been to LA skid row but I am told that it's the worse in the US. I did visit Watts while in LA but not South Central or Compton.

@@mkkk33that’s true but unfortunately there are no HBCU’s in the state of California…we been living in California for 5 years now & we miss our HBCU games back home in the south…majority of my cousins, aunts & uncles either graduated from Norfolk State University or they are currently going now, California is a nice place to visit / vacation but it’s not big on black culture….Oakland & South Central Los Angeles use to have very big African American populations back in the 80’s & 90’s , I still visit Oakland often to get Soulfood because there isn’t any soul food restaurants in Stockton, Lodi, Modesto, Manteca, Tracy, etc etc…so my family & I gotta drive 55 minutes to an hour to eat Soul food or Jamaican food.
