2:48 How to prevent kidneys stones
5:00 Learn more about the benefits of apple cider vinegar!
Today we're going to talk about a simple way to prevent kidney stones, and it has to do with apple cider vinegar.
The most common type of kidney stone is a calcium oxalate stone. In this situation, you have high oxalates and calcium and low citrate.
You may have high oxalates from consuming too many high-oxalate foods. Oxalates are in a lot of foods, including keto-friendly foods. High calcium in the urine can be due to a genetic mutation.
Your body makes citrates, which bind with calcium to lessen the amount of free calcium in the body. Free calcium is what can bind to oxalates.
Drinking more fluids during the day is one of the best ways to prevent kidney stones. I suggest drinking at least two and a half liters of fluids per day if you're prone to getting kidney stones. Another great way to prevent kidney stones is to add electrolyte powder containing potassium citrate or magnesium citrate to your water.
The best natural remedy for kidney stones:
    • To help dissolve kidney stones, add four to six ounces of lemon juice and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a large glass of water, and drink up! For kidney stone prevention, add the juice of one lemon or just one tablespoon of lemon juice and two tablespoons of ACV to your water.

I had 3 stones in my left ureter and 1 in the right and i started a low oxalate diet and also took 3 glasses of lemon water mixed with apple cider vinegar daily and miraculously all the stones have gone and i just have 1 stone left which is 8mm and im still working hard on getting it out naturally so from personal experience yes lemon water with ACV works !

I had kidney stones over a year ago just before starting your healthy version of keto, I wasn't eating right to begin with and extremely over weight. I was worried about getting kidney stones back by eating 10 cups of dark leafy greens so that's when I watched your videos on what to help with kidney stones and immediately start drinking apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and water 32oz at every meal and I have been very fortunate not to get them back, knock on wood! Thank you Dr. Berg for helping me through getting healthy and losing weight the correct way!

As a 60 year old stone former you had me taking apple cider vinegar with the mother for almost a year now however, it had nothing to do with stones. I was taking it for other health benefits. This is such good news to me knowing it also helps for stones.

YES! I went to urgent care about 12 years ago and after a scan or x-ray, I was told my pain was being caused by kidney stones. While I was dreadfully waiting for them to pass, I started to seek out remedies that people have tried and ACV came up in my research. I was not looking forward to passing the stones, nor any kind of sound wave treatment, so decided to give this a shot. Not only ACV, but I would also take a little baking soda each day. The pain went away, never felt any passing of stones, and the follow up visit and x-ray showed I was stone free!!! I now take ACV on a regular basis.

I’ve had kidney stones for years. I just passed a 4mm size stone. I was surprised because I thought I was doing so well. I have never had any of the pain typically associated with stones which I thought was odd, but did have MAJOR FATIGUE before passing the stone. My problem is HIGH sodium, DEHYDRATION (I’m usually NEVER thirsty.) and just an overall terrible diet. (Mostly processed foods (Groceries) and Fast Food. ACV has saved me over the years. I have to force myself to drink at least 3 quarts of water a day. Interestingly looking back, every time I’ve had kidney stones it’s during WINTER months. I have to remember to DRINK during those months. 🙂

Wish it was always so simple. In our culture the high consumption of coffee is the biggest culprit. Coffee is super high in Oxalate and high Oxalate is a major factor in stones. I agree though. Drinking enough water is very important above anything. Chase your cup of coffee with at least a cup of water.

I would get kidney stones when I was an active alcoholic. When I would run out of acv, I would get one in a few days, I'd stop at the grocery store while working (hvac so mobile) and within 20 minutes the pain was bearable and within a day or so no pain and I didn't even know if I passed it or not. That happened many times while actively drinking.

In another short video on kidney stones you showed how to do accupressure, which I thought was "hokey"! Well, I've been doing OMAD for one week and started getting this pain in my upper back, under shoulder blade and started wondering if it was Kidney issue. I watched several of your videos, added lemon to my daily ACV & water AND reclined in a chair using a tennis ball as my pressure (I am alone with no help), for about 30 minutes I moved this ball about every 2-3 minutes, just layed on it to apply pressure (floor was too hard and painful, chair had some "give"). LO AND BEHOLD, it worked! the pain is gone. I also used a book to push in under my ribcage on the side that hurt, moving it around a bit, to dislodge stones. The pain left last eve and this morning I am not feeling any and I will just keep up accupressure with the lemon/ACV water about 3 times a day.
OH, since I started binging on your videos 2 weeks ago, starting OMAD, along with weight I had lost beginning of month, I have lost 11 lbs in one month. I have not been able to lose weight even though I was doing IF since last year. I'm doing the extreme method to lose 20 lbs I gained since spring 2020!!! nothing was working before. NOW I am adding in 48 hours fast, but with bullet-proof coffee (since I'm still losing weight drinking that). thank you Dr Berg

I forgot to add, one month ago I started 7 types Magnesium BiOptimizers, its too expensive so I take only 1 of the pills along with Magnesium Threonate (I need to use it up), alternate nights I sleep well for 3 weeks, does it need to build up? For the last week I have slept deep and in delta wave (been years since I've dreamed), so I am sure that is also helping me lose weight.

    Dear Dr Berg,
I do hope you reply to my query. I’m a 62 year old diabetic who suffers kidney stones. I think I’ve had them a lot longer than they have been diagnosed, as I remember passing what I would have called was a roll of barbed wire back in my twenties. The relief afterwards was euphoric!………
My last stint has involved several botched attempts to paddle about in my urinery system playing laser quest. In the end they managed to dislodge a large stone that was causing a serious blockage and where they had previously only been able to blow a hole through, so as to be able to get a stent up into my kidney - where the next largest stone is. That stent was in place for almost twelve months, along with all the associated problems that gave me,
I discovered you on RUclips and you talk a lot of sense. I’ve started to drink freshly squeezed lemon juice first thing in the morning and diluted throughout the day along with increased water consumption. I’m probably not drinking enough of it in it’s raw state from what you’ve said in the above vlog - but every little helps as Tesco says!
My query is that with ACV you don’t say how much, how to take it and when to take it? Can it be added to the lemon juice first thing or must it be consumed separately.
Having gone through five laserquest sessions, lithotripsy, two weeks of sepsis where I begged to be allowed to die, a twelve month stent stone necklace, numerous UTI’s, an epidural, restricted airway operations, catheters (devils spawn) and canulars galore and I’m still left with five kidney stones and two gallbladder stones, I’m desperate to try anything that keeps surgeons and their sharp implements away from me.
    Please reply
    Nick

This morning, I ate some coconut oil and drank some apple cider vinegar and a lot of water, with some ibuprofen, and the pain pretty much went away, until this evening.
