Exotics eight legs UK thank you. Like I said in the video I wanted to show some of these “tips” because I struggled to find information when I first got into the hobby!
Hey I just had two questions for you. I'm planning on picking up a Cyriopagopus lividum female. I really like your set up for your female. I just wondered two things, firstly what substrate mix did you use for her? And also do you happen to know the name or have a link to the terrarium you have for her? Thanks!
Arachno94 Hi! Awesome that you are getting a C Lividum! The substrate mix is coco fibre with vermiculite. You can’t really get the ratios wrong but I use about 80/20 coco/vermiculite. The terrarium is Komodo Nano habitat at 21x21x30cm I’m not sure who has them in stock at the moment though! Mine was from a local reptile shop. Hope this helps!
@@ArachnoDan @Arachno Dan Alright! I haven't kept a Fossorial species before, so for an obligated burrower, a substrate that holds it shape works best. So I'll be sure to grab some vermiculite. Also thanks for the terrarium dimensions. I would use something else, but having clear glass is the best way to go. Also, do you use a heat pad or lamp to keep the temperature around 80 degrees for her?
Tomas Edson Alfaro the mix is coco fibre and vermiculite. I find it holds it shape very well I know a lot of people add peat as a 3rd ingredient but I haven’t found the need to yet as long as you compact the mixture when you put it in the tank. The mix is around 70/30 (cocofibre/vermiculite)
@@ArachnoDan thank you for the helpful info. more power to your channel. hope you show how to breed tarantulas and give me some slings😁. fan from Philippines
Arthropod Ambassadors thanks a lot of the housing is experimental I would like to find a good enclosure for each type and have them all uniform in the future!
