Love how he wasn't afraid to name and shame. Helps stop everyone else getting scammed
Rev just casually taking hits and calling out the scammers. Hat off to you, brother!
DRAG THEM
He gets paid much more than he loses. He ain’t a messiah
@@darkcarnage5239still
but we talking about 1.5k $ loss 😢
@@NesleoI don’t think he’d be doing this if it financially hurt him 😂
It’s a shame there’s so many unreliable people in the hobby. You’re doing a lot for the community just by raising awareness to it. Thank you.
Including the pokemon company itself!
@@planetlimbo5981 Yeah why trust the pokemon company when we have the PokeRev?
including the government itself!
Bc half of the people in the “hobby” don’t actually collect and are only in it for money
@@claymills771 yeah I’ve noticed a lot of profiteers on RUclips and seen a lot about Whatnot and even heard about people doing live TikToks making immediate money. That isn’t even making a comment about the “investors” who are probably way worse for the hobby than people realise because sitting on product to sell it after it is discontinued only to sell it for profit is pretty shady and if the only arguments for it are “you could do it if you want to” or “money, bro” then it’s pretty obviously just scamming people for no reason but more moneys.
I would love to see part 2 where you would show contacting those sellers and seeing their reactions to being called out.
He's not going to contact them lol. He can't prove anything.
@@PapaJodsterno point in proving just contacting them and pressuring them is enough so they understand.
@@CJV69 Honestly, they won't care.
@@CJV69if the shop front gets shutdown, they reopen under a new name and a random address. Ebay/Amazon don't really care as its still getting the revenue at the end of the day.
@@PapaJodsterof course he can prove it he has video
Appreciate you shining a light on the names of the scammers and calling them out!
Lol Nigerian scammer
well spoken
I only seen 2 scammers. The resealed packs are the only sellers you can call scammers. The rest you can't prove anything just cause there wasn't any hits.
@@adammonahan687 2 out of 6. Bad chances.
they'll just change their handle names and continue doing this. stop buying loose packs.
I'm glad you name the sellers as it helps the community buy from the good ones and forces accountability of the sellers.
Thanks for the tips rev🙏
how do you know they're not all weighed?
@@ianturnbull7 Thats the other problem for sure!
@ianturnbull7 you don't, that's why Rev usually buys booster boxes rather than singles
Props to you keeping the seller names public! we need more awareness in the community for things like this from happening :]
Rev no video posted so going back just watching older videos and man rev you really have takin some BIG hits for us and personally you've taught me some very valuable things and now days I know what to look and watch out for buying packs and different stuff for my son and/or myself or both. Thank you for everything you do for us here at the pokecave
I'm so glad that there is someone like you in the community who truly cares about the rest of us!
Doing this community a service. You're a legend Rev.
Thank you for calling out those scammers! You're always looking out for the PokeCave fam! We appreciate it!
Such a shame that this hobby that comes from our childhoods (or for those currently living their childhoods) is so tainted by greed and dishonesty. The community really appreciates your integrity and that you use your massive influence for good, Rev. It's also a testament to your character that you empathize with those who don't have the opportunity to even buy these vintage packs in the first place. Respect.
Thanks for looking out for all us common folk, It's appreciated. The length scammers go to is insane!
I’m feel so sorry for all the people spent a lot of money on older packs and got scammed
@@anthonymercado8126yeah no thanks it’s more fun getting a surprise
Thank you for doing this. Removes some temptation to buy expensive loose packs, especially with the lack of pulls being a big risk too.
Videos like these are so important! It was great seeing some older stuff, but knowing that people are straight up ripping you off and belittling this wonderful hobby into a mere money making scheme is just so sad. Thank you for calling out each seller and hopefully the word can spread on the ones who are taking advantage of people. Keep up videos like these exposing the darker side of the hobby!
It's truly unfortunate that there is people out there scamming like this, as Rev said, just imagine saving for a more expensive pack and just get ripped off like this.
Do not trust anyone. A lesson that many people have to learn the hard way.
These videos are so important to the health of the Pokémon community! Thanks Rev!
Your expertise is so vital to helping us more casual collectors to avoid scams or overpriced products.
Pokémon TCG reminds me of so many other large scale, saturated product markets. If there’s any hacks/cheats/get-rich-quick schemes in the wind, a large percentage of the players are going to gravitate towards easy wins at the detriment of other people.
There’s different levels of bad, but thankfully there are good people like you out there fighting the good fight.
Thank you for raising awareness for these kinda issues in the community Rev, really respect you for including names too
I love how all the sellers have their own shape and form of protecting their packs 😂
Thank you, Rev. You help a lot of us by using your income from the channel to do videos like this. You're appreciated!
Thank you for naming the sellers!! You're doing a major service for the community ❤
I like how you named the sellers so we can know who to buy and not to buy from! Love your videos Rev!!
I hate to see ppl getting scamed its so annoying ppl do this crap to ppl. You are doing a good thing taking hits for the community much love for you rev
Thanks for taking the blunt end of the stick for us Rev! We appreciate you're diligence to the community and the hobby❤
Crazy seeing how common it is to get scammed as someone just getting into this hobby. Really makes me think a lot about buying old packa
sad part is you cant trust ANYONE and its quite a bit of money to buy one pack of something thats more than 5 yrs old of pokemon product
Just don't buy older packs. The chances of getting resealed/weighed packs is just too high for it to be worth it. Sealed booster boxes with the Pokemon seal are probably fine but you'll be paying a pretty penny for that.
Didn't use to be this bad around early x/y era and b/w but there's just so much more money in pokemon cards now so there's bound to be more scammers
Can we just appreciate what Rev is doing for us?
Rev just getting paid by the big card sellers
@@duffy5079that’s rude to assume maybe he’s not 😮
@@NadiaRafz_ tbh what Rev and others are doing right now is what EVERYONE is doing they are trying to get people to buy from them since the market is changing right now. And honestly Rev is also out of ideas. Most poketubers are. Now it's just a big finger pointing competition to show just who is screwing over others the most
@@NadiaRafz_ Rev is just trying to keep his audience. Don't get me wrong my favorite poketubers are definitely Cooltrainer Ryan and Rev to a lesser extent. It's just getting kinda old
@@duffy5079look I’m not trying to start an argument but he’s got a lot of fans and maybe he isn’t getting paid to review the stuff maybe he just wants to do it for fun 🙂

Huge respect for calling people out. More people need to be like you
This man is a legend. His content never fails
Incredibly frustrating to see. We all hear how risky it is to buy loose packs online but this really drives home why. Thank you for doing this.
It’s so sad that this stuff happens. Not okay at all! Thanks for letting us know 🙏🙏🙏
Happened to me my first month back into collecting and you aren’t wrong. It’s very discouraging, especially if it would be a young collector just getting into the hobby.
It sucks that you always have to be worried about getting fake packs 😢
It’s easy to tell
@@Dinoco-42 u can’t tell from the pictures unless the sellers really dumb
@Dinoco-42 It can be but not always. Plus not everyone will show good pictures
Thank you Rev for doing this for us! 💜
So tempted to buy an EX era pack that was my era and I'd kill to open just one more but as a college student I just can't risk getting scammed so I'll just watch you open them for now 😅
I really wanted to get into pokemon cards again, but the amount of scams out there was ridiculous. My first purchase had a booster pack of entirely commons, and then when I got a normal looking list of pulls, it was still obvious that the booster had been checked because they failed to reseal it. Another unfortunate scam I learned about was that people would open boxes, and once they found a rare card, they would sell the remaining knowing that there wouldn't be anything else of value in the box.
sad to see so many resealed packs, but as someone who just got into collecting thank you so much for doing these videos!
If not for you, Pokémon pack opening and buying would be a completely different world. Thank you so much for you work over the years Rev!!!🎉
Wow! Can’t believe you are willing to spend so much to help the community! Thanks for everything you do
i mean, he probably makes the money back off the video revenue so its not THAT much of a risk for a content creator
He still does it though
@@viewing3768 obviously
Just like your local hobby shops, these online retailers just scalp their products, scalp the booster boxes, get the hits, and then sell the remaining packs knowing there are not hits left....
If you get a hit at your local shop, and know they dont scalp their product, just shop their... I remember hitting a Case hit on a Yu-Gi-Oh and I was so relieved and happy to continue shopping there
they changed their names on eBay so we can’t see their accounts anymore
Bs that they allow people to change their username
You really don't know how much we appreciate doing these videos! So helpful for the community!
As someone who just got back into collecting, I love seeing all these older sets. You are the man Rev!
Love that fact you call them out. Lets me know who not to buy from. Thanks for taking the L on those big ones.
When you have to worry about fake packs -> 😓😥😞😣😢
Bro I just bought 3 Spanish god packs for £1500 each. Turns out the were all fake. The shop even has no returns.

You’re doing our community a huge favor by doing this! Thank you so much!
The Whites spots on the reseales indicate reheated original glue.
Always appreciate you taking the hit for us Rev! It’s sad how many scammers there are out there.
I just started collecting and pulling good stuff is so hard. I really like Pokémon cards and the suspense of what you’re going to get but it’s always nothing! 😂
Pull packs like Crown Zenith and Scarlet and Violet base set to start. They have high pull rates and lots of great art.
Also look at buying singles for cards you want. Hard hit rates, I think, is good for collectors because look how easy pull rates are destroying SV English sets. But don’t give up, it makes it much sweeter. Took me a year of ripping ES until I pulled the moonbreon. My son pulled the dragonite V Alt Art from a Lances Charizard box this morning. So it can hit anytime.
This is the stuff that makes me hesitant to try to build old collections. It's such a risk
Imagine buying a single pack for 230$ which was most likely weighed
Makes no sense to me. A booster pack will be worth a lot of money, half the price of the desired pull, just for a small chance at getting that pull.
Props to you for taking the hits to help the community avoid scammers.
Me and the family love watching your videos. Thank you for showing us what a pack should and shouldn't look when you buy them.
Mad respect for calling out these sellers. This should be a weekly or 2 week video format to test the odds, test more sellers and warn people about certain sellers. Especially if these are bigger ones with many reviews, they can't just simply start a fresh account and be at the same point again, that would help against them.
Love the more aggressive style of commentary, the amount of money that people can be scammed out of is insane. It destroys the hobby for so many. Thanks for calling them out, respect man.
Thank you for naming both bad sellers and good sellers too. Yugitubers never do either even when they get scammed and it's really annoying. It's nice to know names to avoid or trust before you start buying online.
Scamming in TCGs is a huge problem im glad it’s getting addressed.
The prices for packs made in the last 10 years is absolutely insane. It’s not real. Especially when it’s obviously weighed or worse. Crazy.
Honestly thank you for calling this out and not just brushing past it.
It’s crazy how there was no holo half way into the video could be wrong but might be weighed before
huge W on calling out the lowlifes, especially as a guy with that much reach. doing the community a big service here!
love you calling people out here! really trying to help people!
Dont know nothing about pokemon...but started collecting cards this year because of my brother...and its pretty addictive jus opening the packs...i love it.
These videos are the best for first time collectors and experienced, I learn so much more after watching them
The art on those old cards is so cool
I've recently got into pokemon, but it's incredibly nerve wracking to do anything. Despite me wanting to try some of the older sets/packs, I can't bring myself to risk anything. I'm drawn to just sticking with current market/retail sets.
Its just as bad at walmart where i live. They allow returns on pokemon cards got 8 packs in the cardboard sleeves all of them return to walmart and had been resealed and all the hits gone. Pretty sad when people gotta rip others off. So beware of walmart hanger packs of pokemon.
Recently bought cards for the first time since I was a kid (build and battle box) and I've been feverishly researching the hobby to get back into it... Gotta say, I will never buy sealed or mystery boxes with loose packs from online sellers because of this weighing nonsense. I'll buy bulk to play with and discount sealed products at local big box or card shops
Blisters are horrible. I've opened enough packs to be certain that the order you should buy in is:
Booster Box
Booster Bundle
ETB
UPC/Special Collection
Blisters
If you're getting blisters then you're starting off with bad luck. One thing to pay attention to, order the cards are in, If you see white at the seal, flat crimps it has been opened. Another really bad thing to look out for is half opened booster boxes. People will open 18 blisters of something and stick it in a box and call it half a Booster, but because they are all blister, you have a horrible chance of anything good.
Not really an issue for 95% of Pokémon card buyers as we don't spend this money on packs. We're happy with booster boxes and single packs from local shops.
Hate when sellers scam people, the Pokémon community is awesome and such a shame people take advantage of what makes people happy
I really do appreciate Rev calling people out. Just let people enjoy the hobby!
A lot of these aren't exactly scams. but the seller getting a sale over you via technicality. Anytime you buy anything mystery pack related, it's 9/10 not gonna be anything great.
tbh with all these scammers it's not worth to even try buying vintage or older packs anymore. The price-risk balance is BAD.
I’m just venturing into collecting Pokémon cards and found this video very helpful.
For future videos, I recommend throwing up a picture preview of the sellers that you buy from. Really good and informational video for what to look out for.
Thank You for your community service Rev! I am happy to watch your videos to help generate more money to keep doing random Vintage Pack QC Seller checks on the regular! If all the sellers know you are out there putting everyones integrity to the test, people might think twice before listing that Re-Sealed pack! Thank You! Keep these up! Its like a self correcting problem with your notariaty and status!
For real, there should be a system to get scammers known while you shop. Like the one that find codes for you but instead look into past report or whatever.
CatalyticVictory probably steals catalytic converters irl too.
It's sad how many scammers want to earn money from the honesty of others :(
Fortunately, people like you show to have limited trust in resellers. Good job! :)
Appreciate you calling out these scammers
I actually just started selling Pokémon tcg cards, it sucks that i get questioned about ETB and Booster Boxes and usually i only get my cards from Pokémon center, GameStop and BestBuy. After seeing this video it is understandable and frustrating, actually disgusting from these sellers. I just started even making money from selling cards because of the reality of buyers not trusting sellers, I had to eat a lot of profit or go even to get my reviews up on my account to have trusted buyers and people who will repeatedly buy from me. Hope TCG Sellers see this video and realize how they are jeopardizing the community because of bad morals.
This is why if I'm buying from a random seller it's only early Japanese Pokémon packs, you're guaranteed a holo.
I'm new to this hobby, and I really appreciate the fact that you're teaching how to spot scams. Thank you!
My advice would be to NEVER buy sealed product, especially older sealed product, from a seller that isn't a reputable specialist game/card shop or big box retailer. Same rule applies for high-value singles. There's too many scammers and speculators in the hobby spoiling it for the rest of us.
Just started collecting again, love watching your videos. Love the information you give, definitely helps while looking for bosters and packs
everytime i watch this content, it takes me back to the local mall i frequented as a high school kid, seeing packs of these at the local comic shop, Heinsight is a bummer ! i regret not buying packs religiously. nowadays people are more exposed to opportunities. thanks for the show brother
with hgss onward you'll notice packs falling apart on opening a lot more.
but even then, my "keen eye" from the ancient times could immediately tell the unleashed pack was saaaaaaaafuuuu
Lmao the sellers you called out punching air right now
I guarantee 85% of sellers weigh boosters before sending. Also I believe you should call out EVERY SCAM SELLER! F them. They are ruin the online market in general. Not calling them out means they just keep doing it
The sad truth is even though 2 of the 6 were obvious reseals, the other 4 were probably clearly weighed and the runts out of the original boxes they came in. As many have said in the comments, it's probably wise to stick clear of loose packs, unless you physically see the person you're buying from open the original booster box and hand you one randomly from it. Which probably never happens. F scammers! There's a special place in the afterlife for them.
Last dude just got the most legit advertising for free haha thanks for the video rev this was a huge one
Wow what you just said was extremely kind hearted real “….why don’t you give everyone a refund not just me” it’s nice to see humble people and still keeping it real!
It’s so bothersome that something i enjoyed so much as a child and now as an adult, is filled with people trying to ruin the fun for a quick buck
This is why I never got back into Pokemon cards. I wish the Pokemon company would just sell near unlimited packs off their website rather than work through retailers that are easy prey for scalpers and scammers.
Appreciate your back opening vids
