- Once upon a time... when there were hardly any compact digital cameras around, a few of us witnessed an electronic dance music event that would turn out to be one of the biggest and greatest outdoor festivals in the world.

the last true year that Trance, Hard Trance, and early Hardstyle dominated the electronic music scene imo. The Epitome of sound. ID&T completely rocked the shit out of any genre, and event it touched. Also, RIP Sensation Black.. Please come back someday. Alot of people miss you..
New genres have other things to offer.

True respect for tomorrowland .I cried so much after watching this video.there are not more than 300 people on the mainstage.and the people of tomorrowland have worked so hard forthe mainstage .no proper camera's nothing still they worked so hard.now in 2013 where we see the whole ground is jampacked but in 2005 it was all empty no lights were there too. but now seriously its one of the biggest outdoor music festival . I respect you tomorrowland ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Tomorrowland started small in 2005, today it is massive
It's so awesome seeing it in the same place, with that (comparatively) tiny main stage in the same spot, and then the main stage from this year, where there are so many people, the venue is almost too small.
Ik was er bij, nog steeds krijg ik er goosebumps van. The true clubbers from in belgium made allready then the uplifting atmosphere it became famous for all around the world. Thank you for bringing back those memories. And thank everyone that was there. You were and still are the real heroes from then.

2005 - 2023
Those first years were the best years. You could actually walk and it was not so over commercialized. Real scene people. I spinned my records there a few years. I actually did a spontaneous btb with Guetta. I hate what it has become. A show monster for the non music scène people.
You’re right. I’m from Romania and Untold Festival which first edition was in 2015 and after 4-5 years you could already see the decoration, theme things, line-ups, organisation fading away, minimalize the budget and interest more and more for profit, not for the vibe, story. This year at Untold was overcrowd, even if it had a very large number of people in the first years. Now is just a overpriced, dry and not so special festival

What a great video man! It's incredible how music and technology has changed the whole experience. Taking into consideration that they started in 2005 ...(and UMF did before) it shows the great work and effort put to make Tomorrowland the best electronic music festival on earth.
it's the same or used to be organization that created Thunderdome, Mysterland, Trance energy, Innercity, Sensation (white & black), etc more than 10 years earlier. but it got sold to an American stock company.

There are airplanes with a Tomorrow Land banners on their fuselage.
the predecessor of TomorrowLand was Mysteryland 1994, a 3 day festival on reclaimed land from the sea in the west of the Netherlands, today it has a "special" purpose build landscape.
The Mysteryland '96 Eindhoven was held on a Airport and it was great.
Another very best was Love parade in Berlin within excess over 1 million people. some other long runners: Mayday, Nature One.
@@AnalogDude_ but festivals Like tomorrowland and the other mentioned have the Problem to got to commercial imo. There are better, more unknown Festivals (Like Fusion), which have another concept and therefore a great vibe you cant find at these well known festivals.

First time I met Armin was few years before TML 2005. He was a starting DJ at the Melkweg in Amsterdam.

Happy 20th anniversary Tomorrowland....It's unfortunate this type of culture no longer exists anymore as it used to in the 1990s and 2000s.

Present in 2005! Back in those days when you did not have a ticket you could just pay the security guy and he would let you enter the festival. Great times, EDM did not even exist back then.
