    The male robins always show up in early spring and then it snows...a lot. They eat suet and mealworms on my tray feeder. Last year a pair of blue birds arrived early and ate at my feeder. Never had bluebirds here before. Felt good helping them survive.

    When the snow covers the ground the birds do need help. We have a creek nearby so they can get water. Getting out to the bird feeder is more difficult but winter boots and coats are near the back door. The birds clean out the feeders every day so we have to get out there early for bird breakfast to be served.

    I feed my backyard birds because of habitat destruction makes it harder for them to find the food they need to survive. First and only reason. Everything else is gravy. ❤ Birds

    I’m in the northeast and I have a couple of mockingbirds that keep appearing but I don’t know what they eat other then the one Winterberry berries that I have. What would you suggest? Thanks!

      The mockingbirds in my area eat fruits, nuts , mealworms and suet. They pretty much guard those feeders in my yard

      I have had the most luck with peanut butter and cornmeal mixture with raisins and dried mealorms added. Here is a video link ruclips.net/video/Ygvuxuh6rng/видео.html

      Besides eating winterberries, I’ve seen our resident mockingbird eating berries from American Holly the other day and regularly at the suet feeder.

    If I put peanut butter on the bread is that ok

    • @MarksBackyardBirds
      @MarksBackyardBirds  Месяц назад

      It is better to mix the peanut but with something to give it a more crumbly texture like corn meal or fin sunflower chips.

    I only use hot pepper suet now because the seeds were attracting rats. They try to nest under my vehicle hoods and in my pump house. Any suggestions?
