i was there that night i missed the dive. It was cold and the girl I was with wanted to leave? when I finally saw the video I saw the dive and was like how did I miss that. and I was there for so long but never saw the Black Dress. Must have been late too

I am a year late this was filmed in late 1995 early . I was there. The first part was shot i believe in RAGE they set something up. I remember it had just been announced thatshe was the halftime superbowl performer.

I had the pleasure of seeing Miss Ross in SF last night. Let me tell you what - 4 horn / wind players, 2 guitars, 1 person on keyboards, 2 people on percussion, and finally, 3 back-up singers. NO special effects. She didn't need anything else. She sang "Don't Explain" you could hear a pin drop. Her voice is absolutely perfect. Anyone who reads this - go see Diana live. I have seen here in the 80's, the 90's and 2000's. She is at her absolute prime now. She has lived the lyrics she sings ;-)

@shauninfl28 What views? I've been a fan of Ms. Gaynor's since the very beginning and I've never heard anything negative from her regarding the Gay community...Have I missed something? It would be an absolute shame for her to make the same mistake Ms. Summer's made years back...she found out quickly who her fan base primarily consisted of and learned to not bite the hands that feed her.

Just got off the phone with God ILoveMashBros and God says hello. She says that she really likes you, but she adores Diana Ross. That's why she made her with so much charisma, which as a Christian, you know is what the bible means when it says, "Touched By God." Oh and another thing: God says that she didn't write the bible, men did. She wishes that they had not gone with the first draft.
I think this was a great video for a couple of reasons. I love the fact that she was out there with her gay fans, (and boy does this woman have gay fans), second, because she genuinely seems to be having a blast. RuPaul looks almost too incredible. Love Diana since 1967 when my Uncle came back frm overseas with a steamer truck full of Motown records. I play holes in them but my favorite was and still is Diana. I hoped she liked younger men, because I wanted to marry her so badly back then.

I love being an American, but one thing that really bugs me is everyone's preoccupation with sexual orientation. Everyone here is talking "queer" this and "gay" that. So frikkin what? The first word that popped into my head, if I had to pigeonhole it, is BURLESQUE. Maybe I'm just a huge Diana fan, or brought up not picking the gays out of the crowd. it's not for gays only - but it is a song we identify with because of the struggle against opression that continues to this day. maybe they think it's "only" for gays because they identify so strongly with it. But it is for anyone who has suffered unfairly at the hands of another, whether that "other" is a person or a government.

Yep , Santa Monica Boulevard . A hit for Diana in the UK mainstream singles chart and from the Take Me Higher album which is just superb.Look at her dive into the crowd !!! Who else would do that her age ? What a woman .I've always despised that song, and my heart sank when I knew it was on the album , but she gets away with it .She funked it up .
