1:00 that old man was like the only black person in this movie who wasn't a racist. He was tryna do the right thing and prove a point to the other black people. You can tell that he was a truly righteous black man who was fair with everybody. Now if we had more righteous black people like him in this world who aren't racist and always targeting people who aren't black then maybe this would be a better society and we'd move forward and reduce racism. It's too bad we don't have more people like him. But one thing about this movie it don't matter what race/ethnicity you are the cops were wrong for killing Raheem Gary was told by the other cops to stop and he just kept choking him to death that cop definitely deserves to lose his job and rot in prison for murder. I feel the same way about what the cops did to George Floyd. Not everything is about racism white vs black. It's about good vs evil.
The cops should of been suied for killing radio Raheem they didn't have to kill him RIP Ossie Davis,Robin Harris, Bill Nunn and Danny Aiello 🙏🏿 I love Do the right thing I grew up on this movie it's classic as well as my favorite movie 😊
Aww I'm glad they didn't trash the Korean store him and his wife were cool they didn't bother no one they weren't prejudice but i feel Robin Harris on one hand but on the other hand I'm glad they left the Korean family alone 😊
Mookie so easily betrayed the guy who considered him family He could have at least threw the trash can into some other nearby store if he felt so strongly obligated to get justice for Radio Raheem's death instead of the pizza parlor.
I always was on the fence about that. It seems Mookie was in the right considering the very person who got him killed from calling the police, but everything else you mentioned is valid as well. It drove a wedge between them even though Raheem wouldn't have died had the police had not been called on him.
That was NOT "easily". His best friend was just murdered in front of his eyes, indirectly by Sal. And all that Sal had to say was "you do what you gotta do"
Am i the only one who feels buggin out is largely responsible for most of the carnage at the end due to him antagonizing most of the neighborhood all day?
@@lexkanyima2195 the plot of the movie has nothing to do with the point being made where consistently throughout the movie not a single person does the “right thing”
Craziest part is Mookie was the main 1 in Sal’s corner, working @ the pizza place & being diplomatic, all just to end up being the 1 who flips the switch of destruction 💯💯💯

35 years...ain't a damn thing changed...
Blue Lives Matter. However, and like in all groups (police or other), overstepping idiots don’t.
With that said, RIP to George Floyd.
They predicted George Floyds death with a Hollywood movie 30 years early
@deanfarr3249 there's no comparison.
@@deanfarr3249you say this as if the case of George Floyd hasn’t happened repeatedly throughout American history
Yes it has.
R.I.P. Bill Nunn
Robin Harris &
Ossie Davis
RIP Ruby Dee, Danny Aiello and Paul Benjamin as well.
who cares this movie sucks and is racist
And frank Vincent!
and Rick Aiello
Do the Right Thing is an absolute masterpiece 💯.
They really didn't have to kill him.
Fr why were they still choking him
That's not police work, that's excessive force
And he didn't need to kill sal which is what he was clearly trying to do but guess that was ok
@ajdavide2910 nobody was right in this situation, nobody did do the right thing but neither did the cops, that was something called EXCESSIVE FORCE
Bruh he was literally resisting arrest.
Happy 35th anniversary, _Do the Right Thing._
Thank you Spike Lee, for giving us this absolute fucking cinematic masterpiece!!! ✊️✊️✊️✊️✊️✊️

He claimed to consider Mookie family just a couple minutes before brandishing a bat at Raheem for playing music and shouting racial slurs

I just watched an episode of Jeopardy and a clue revealed that Sinatra was angry that his picture caught fire in the pizzeria.

He was definitely guilty of instigating a lot of the time but Radio Raheem shouldn't have been murdered
But it was not his fault

All this shit could’ve been avoided if jon carlo esposito’s character just shut the hell about a damn picture 🙄
