      Yeah (29:20) I've seen several male leads from the 1930s be condescending and even verbally abusive, and yet the writers and directors clearly expected the audience to identify with them on some level.
      And of course she falls for him in the end 🙄.
      Maybe this is why Myrna Loy and William Powell seemed like such a breath of fresh air in the Thin Man movies.

    Ginger Rogers is definitely the best thing about this film, but she can't overcome the awful dialogue and often wooden acting of the others.
    And the lead male character is tiresome, for example in the scene at 29:20
