I like the book Clean Code a lot. The Pragmatic Programmer is also a good book. Some colleagues tell me I'm crazy for reading them in my own time, but I don't mind. Thanks for the video

thanks for sharing, I heard a lot of good things about The Pragmatic Programmer, it is on my reading list! ☺️ I love to hear that you also enjoy reading books about coding 🥳🥳 Tell your colleagues they are wrong ;)

Wow, two videos within days of each other. Great to see you posting more. Hey, you're a lefty! Never noticed that before I don't believe. Noise cancelling headphones are great. I flew over to Europe one time and a fellow passenger had a set and let me sample them. Unbelievable! I instantly bought myself a pair when I got back home. All the best.

I know this is a boring question, but since you work remotely and worldwide, how do you manage your taxes? I know countries have different policies about taxes (like you need to work at least 183 days per year in the same country).

Might be a good idea for a future video

Hi there! Not a boring question at all!😊The reason I haven't posted a video about this is because I don't feel qualified to give tax advice as I am no professional. But here is my answer in short form:
I am a resident of Switzerland so have to pay my taxes there. In order to work as a consultant for a company in the US (my current job) I had to set up my own company in Switzerland to be able to work as a freelancer. So every month I send the company in the US an invoice for the hours I worked for them. I have a tax advisor in Switzerland who helps me out if I have any questions and I recommend the same to anyone who is interested in doing something similar.
Yes, Switzerland is one of the countries that has a policy where you need to be inside the country for a certain number of days a year to be able to keep your residency. I always make sure that I am there for that time and travel the rest of the year. Hope that answers your question!

how many hours did you study per day to learn to code?

Hi there ☺️ I went to university for 3 years to get a bachelors degree in software engineering. I had programming lectures multiple times a week where we always had to finish assignments until the next week and they were graded, we also had to present our results in front of the whole class. I am not 100% sure anymore how many hours I spent just on these programming assignments per week but I assume it was somewhere between 5-10 hours, in my first year even longer because I had no prior experience. (This was on top of in-person lectures and also only the time I spent for this specific programming class, we also had a lot of other lectures like networking, cyber security, project management etc.) I hope this answers your question ☺️
