  • Round/PVC ports are simple enough to add, but what about slot ports? In this video I show how to add a slot port to a ported speaker enclosure design!

5:08 but if that corner takes away from the volume of the chamber that would mean your port has to be a little longer to keep the tuning frequency the same right?

Im building my first slot ported box. Normally i use round ports. I have all my dimensions etc but im curious, i see many that are flared and then a lot that isnt flared. Wouldnt it be best to flare a slot port or would that be more driver/box design dependent ?

what does it mean to have a linear subwoofer box?

Basically no harsh peaks, the frequency response graph is flat, aka a straight line, hence "line"ar

is it not that both corners of the port chamber to have parallel angles. there by you not reducing port width. So u should have 45° angles on both inner the outer wall of the port tunnel. Its like having a 2" ball rolling in a 2" tunnel that has a 90° corner with the taper of 45° on 1 surface. that ball will get stuck on the bend.

Why decimeters, mate? Just to make things easy, why not continue using centimetres. I am well aware that 1dm=10cm. It much more accurate, anyway. Use the KISS principal 🤔
