    EDIT: for my Q equations, I include a constant of 10*Pi. This is actually the square root of 1000, so is 31.6, not 31.4 as I assumed. Once again, I did the derivation myself. Would've made the equation work with both grams and milimetres, so wikipedia got that one right. But yeah, the answer is virtually the same, and with speakers greater uncertainties lie elsewhere, so should be fine to use.

    Beautifully explained, this will be my 'go to video' to understand these parameters! I look forward to being less of a moron.

    The only downside is the user depending on the manufacturers specs to be accurate and spot on but that's not always the case. I always enjoy your great content

      Measuring specs yourself coming soon. Long and painful btw. Already recorded, just gotta edit it. I actually made it before this one, but wanted to put this video out so people could get a better idea of what's being measured.

    Welp, this is getting shared on our Facebook page! We get questions about this stuff all the time and now you've just made it easy! Thank you so so much!
    BTW! Just upgraded my LFE in my theater. It's now at twelve 18s. Absolutely absurd!

      12 18s, holy crap, I'm keen to get my first 18 lmao. That's some serious surface area. Still planning an 18 for the new car, just waiting for funds. Need a pc upgrade first though.

      @@Dakoustics Yeah, it's absolutely NO JOKE! I'm not sure if you're Facebook (or which social media you have) but if you are, check out @thebudgetaudiophile. I'll also probably post my system to the Budget Audiophile subreddit as well.
      As far as getting an 18 in the car, do you know which brand you're going to go with? Depending on what your goal is, I have some crazy ideas that I think would go OVER THE TOP if you really wanted to!

    Thank you so much! It's hard to find videos/websites that can break down these parameters as well as you do, nor do they explain how they impact how the driver behaves (affecting how it sounds). I would love to see more videos detailing how an enclosure affects the behaviour of a driver and it's output; for not only subwoofers, but for woofers and full range drivers. Not to mention, what factors to consider when designing an enclosure to get the best out of the system. Also there is not alot of information behind cabin gain, and how it affects sound. I would love to know more behind this. Once again, thanks alot for this video, it's really helpful for enthusiast like me.

      Yeah, from research it appears there's more misinformation than real information. I even found two websites, one copied off the other, not sure which way round, and yeah, was way off. Described vas as 100L with the cone pushing, idk something wierd along those lines.

    This video is very useful. Especially, for beginners, who want to get a brief explanation of what the parameters means. Thanks for demonstrating using the real speakers. Is it really possible to measure the TS parameters using Multimeter and how (i think you mentioned this in the end of video)?

    Awesome video, thanks for the information. Some constructive criticism; You sound a little bit monotone, it would be cool if you had a little bit more enthusiasm pressed in to it. Not hating of course, I pressed like in the end :)

      also moving the microphone closer to you and not cranking up the gain so much would help to reduce that background noise drastically :) (or at least try using a noise gate or a denoising function or both)

    • @Dakoustics
      @Dakoustics  3 года назад

      @@paulhamacher773 Yeah, I should get a better mic. And camera for that matter, but since the bulk of my views are on vids that don't even use a camera, trying to work more of my face into it so I can justify.

    Nice video! Let me ask some question. How do you know how much XMax is in a driver under TS parameters measurement, let’s say with ARTA software. Of course that you cannot take the driver apart in order to have a look on the voice coil and measure it.! Is there any method you can point out? Or maybe same estimation? How does this value affect the TS parameters result I the measurement? Thank you!
