  • option.org/programs/resources... -- The Option Institute's HAPPINESS HITS Video Series.
Many of us are making resolutions in the New Year to stop smoking, drink less, eat healthier...curb our "bad" habits.
In this video, Barry (Bears) Neil Kaufman, best selling author of Happiness Is A Choice and Son-Rise: The Miracle Continues and the Co-Founder of The Option Institute, The Son-Rise Program®, and the Autism Treatment Center of America™, suggests that the fundamental difference between discipline and addiction is a judgment. If you habitually work out, you're disciplined. If you habitually smoke cigarettes, you're addicted. You look at both activities through a filter based on your own personal beliefs, therefore putting your stamp of approval on one activity and not the other. Bears further explains how each moment offers you the opportunity to choose and how easily you can make profound changes in your habits by simply identifying the beliefs that fuel your so-called "habitual" behaviors.
The Inner Strength Program, exclusively available at The Option Institute, will help you become indestructible from the inside out - take charge of your own experience, put yourself in the driver's seat and learn concrete techniques for overcoming fear, building self-esteem, and making choices that lead to an empowered and happy life.
"I came to this program frightened and insecure about who I was in the world. I'm leaving centered and strong in my ability to move powerfully and loving with inner strength."

What an interesting point of view you presented! There's no a powerful force as empowerment, being a creator, and I totally agree, it comes to a choice, like AA, one day at a time, one moment counts. Every present moment, that is to live in the now. Very good, thanks!

Wow, what a choice to limit and to put-down.
How do you know it is impossible to comprehend an experience without experiencing it? Everyone and their behavior-choices are self-motivated, based on ones beliefs as to how best to deal with whatever they perceive is going on. What we choose to see, interpretively, is exactly how each chooses. bw

Dear Bears, I love you and I love Option, but this piece on addictions does not resonate with my experience. I believe food addiction - any addiction, for that matter - is physical, as well as cognitive. I also think that unless you have the experience of being addicted-that is, of being obsessed and driven by a substance-it is impossible to comprehend that experience. I guess you could say this belief works for me! Hope you and Samahria are staying warm!! Love you very much, Susan
