  • Do not buy the falcon shocks from teraflex for your f150. they have been squeaking like crazy and falcon seems to think that it's the dust boots on my truck. it is not that I can assure you because the other side would do it as well if that's the case.
    Shops cannot seem to figure it out without replacing the strut so I think that's what we are going to have to do.

    So Falcon tells you to remove the dust boot, you don't follow instructions and then claim Falcon has poor customer service? Look, I'm not a fan of Falcon either but part of customer service is process of elimination. If your thirsty, drink water, don't complain your thirty and refuse a glass of water. 😂

    The falcons are amazing. I had the squeak about a year after install, you have to grease the bushing on the bottom mount. There is a zerk fitting to make it simple. I have had mine for 4 years and after greasing it once with good quality grease it has never made a noise agian.

    Hello, was wondering if you still had the shocks on your F150. I have a 2016 FX4 that I am looking to upgrade the suspension on and I have been seeing a lot of positive reviews on this setup. Besides the noted issues that you had on your particular truck and kit what are you thoughts overall and personal customer service aside. Thanks for the info would love to see an updated video on the truck!

    2:01 those shocks are rebuildable..... just saying.... buy them to have good shocks. if they're screwed up then send them in for a rebuild under warranty. if they find owner negligence then that's on you. if they find that the shocks aren't up to par in QC then they don't charge you. just pop them off and send them in. it doesnt strike you odd that the place for the most dust collected section (the front) are the ones you're complaining about? also it sounds more like a bushing or that you sprayed a degreaser and not a greaser. WD-40 is a degreaser which most people think fixes squeaks. so spraying a wd-40 type product or degreaser onto your shocks that need grease just make it worse. also the chassis steel bar that everything's hooked to is rotating the most and rubbing right against that silver bolt at the top left. either that or at the top of the middle of the frame, the silver bolt is causing trouble. i'd say ball joints, mounting brackets, degreaser used, or the steel bar with rust around it's mount and the brand new bolt put on the other side right in front of everything may be the issue.. usually the shock and spring should be moving more than the mounting of what they're mounted against... that's what they're there for..

    How do you guarantee it’s not the dust covers until you test the theory. I’d imagine they know what they are talking about when it come to their own product. If it doesn’t fix it, it sounds like Teraflex is willing to work with you if you would just try removing the dust covers. Why so obstinate?

    I had mine for 6 months. Handling improved quite a bit, but the ride is much stiffer. I ended up removing the front struts and I went back to stock to regain comfort. I kept the rear shocks as it improved towing on setting 3. Falcon struts are now collecting dust, I will be posting them FB market place. Let me if your interested in buying them.

      Well, I wouldn’t say that at all! They’re the worst riding shocks I’ve ever owned. No matter the tire size my brand new f150 rode like a 3/4 ton and the rear tires kept hitting the adjustable knobs. To make things worse, they emailed me telling me that I needed to drop my psi well below Ford and BFG’s recommended psi making it not only worse for mpg’s, bad tire wear but unsafe as well. Great design but crappy engineering

    Update: I’ve got a new 2023 f150 and just found out that falcon sold my off-road shop older falcon shocks designed for the previous heavier models which is the reason for my new f150 riding like an f250. The Shop is is perplexed as to why Falcon would have older models intended for older heavier trucks sold for new lighter f150’s. Snake oil! Having them returned and going with Ford Performance shocks made specifically for the new lighter 21-23 models.

    I have the same Falcon Sport/Tow Haul system you have. Mine squeaked just like yours but right after install. From what I remember reading when I first had them installed about 2 years ago... The most spot on cause seems to be the plastic "dust cover" on the shock itself. From what others have said it's rubbing against either the springs or other parts of the shock system/strut. And from what I could tell it was only the driver side only. Anyways, I live in South Florida and I did a drive up to New Jersey for Thanksgiving. When I started to hit 30-40F weather the squeek was noticeably louder. It squeaked the whole entire time I was up there. However after I drove back home it dawned on me that at a certain point I never noticed the squeaking anymore. So I'm not an engineer or anything like that or whatever but I think the metal expanded with the cold temperatures and made the plastic parts rub more so that when it went back to "warmer temperature" in Florida the metal contracted. So I am curious if it's still squeaks ( in summer let's say) after you went through a full winter of driving around. I had a dealership install it. So I don't know if it's worth it to try to have it installed without those plastic dust covers to see if that was the actual issue. And I don't know if it's something you 100% definitely need... And then therefore it can't be removed. But this was my experience I don't know if it's going to help you or others. ✌️♥️😀🖖☮️🇺🇸

    • @Sean_Hannon
      @Sean_Hannon  Год назад

      It is 100% the plastic on it but it’s also my spring. Both of them are super super squeaky and the shop that installed. It was a buddy of mine and let’s just say he won’t honor anything and he’s no longer a bunny lol. They’ve been a pain in the ass to deal with, but taking off the plastic will not be the only fix it definitely needs some sort of new spring and it could be something to do with the factory Springs on an aftermarket strut

    Spray some silicon lubricant on the shock shaft and shock gasket where it meets the shock body and wipe it clean with a towel. The dust colleced over time will make it squeek. Had the same issue on my JKU, every few months they need to be cleaned in order to prvent squeaking.

    I've had my Falcon's on my Tacoma since the Lockdown...and that squeek started to happen recently...I just never gave it much thought because I live here in SoCal and beat the hell out of these things daily and on the weekends and the shocks perform so damn good! I figured it was worth the small annoyance...of the squeek. But now that you mention it, I am going to try and hit them with some grease on those zerk fittings they come with to see if that calms them down...I wouldn't say the company is shit tho... Plus, it's just a little squeak (reminds me of the military vehicles I used to ride in and drive they made lots of weirder noises...)bit harsh don't you think?

    These are quite possible the roughest riding shocks I’ve EVER owned and I’ve owned more trucks then you can count with all your fingers and toes. They just emailed me telling me that the reason my truck up front rides so stiff (like a 3/4 ton) is because I need to drop the PSI far lower than the manufactures recommended PSI and on stock (OEM) size tires. I responded with that being BS and you cannot recommend operating your product along with another manufacturers product outside the specs of another. Again, great design with the rear adjustable knob but horrible riding and I went from a 275/65/20 to a 295/60/20 back to current stock 275/60/20 size and still zero change, rides like a 3/4 ton. The truck had 275/65/20 before Falcon installation and rode great but just wanted that extra 2” clearance.

    Do not by Falcons because you hear a noise ? is that what you are saying ? even though you left the dust boots on which you were not supposed to. Is it possible you built up sand in there because of your " dust boots" and prematurely tore up your isolator ? did you put the isolator in ? are falcons installed with del ron bushings ? < which are incredibly tough and incredibly noisy ? would have it not been easier to take the shock out tear it down and look ? nobody has a crystal ball YOU made mistakes on your install so take it back out and figure out the problem. if it is metal on metal you should see a shiny or wear spot. if it is a manufacturing defect then call falcon and see if they stand behind there product. Just saying instead of slamming the product figure out the problem. and go from there. Bouncing it up and down and complaining wont find the problem.

  • @jonluchessi1643
    @jonluchessi1643 7 месяцев назад

    Unfortunately you ran the shocks for one and a half years before this happened, when something like this happens I know it’s frustrating but it’s a step by step process chasing down the exact problem, this could’ve happened even in stock form? If the vehicle was stock you would just take it to Ford if it’s under warranty and they would resolve the problem, the problem is it’s been modified so of course the blame is going to the TeraFlex shocks but it may not be the shocks it could be something very simple so everything basically needs to be checked out and I recommend lubing what you can lube and clean all the joints you’re going to be chasing something kind of like on a jeep when you get death wobble on a jeep, You basically start replacing everything upfront because sometimes it’s hard to determine exactly what it is, I would assume it’s very hard for TeraFlex to help you resolve a problem over the telephone and if they instruct you to take the boot off then take the boot off and inspect it, you modified it so you have to do all the steps that’s my recommendation I hope you get this resolved, also it looks like you used a non-penetrating type oil gets something that will saturate and flow into all the nooks and crannies.
