@@BHanif1996He isn't doing fine on the court though. He's had a negative BPM every year, a negative Net Rating, negative on/off numbers etc. I watched a lot of the Magic last year to root for the guy, and now he's on KD's team, which I watch all of KD's games, so I've seen lots of Bol's play.
His defense is actually rather disappointing. His height and shot blocking are his main defensive skills. But his inability to stay grounded and not bite for fakes and his lack of lateral movement really hurt his defense.

by all reports Bol Bol has a bad attitude, poor work ethic, sense of entitlement and doesn't work for his spot outside of games. His potential has kept him in the league, but he hasn't done what coaches expect to get onto the court. He is inefficient and lacks motor when on the court, even in limited minutes and is a reluctant screener. He has the measurements and potential to be a great defender but constantly misses rotations and goes to sleep on the defensive end. He does not move well off ball. He creates great highlights, but if you actually watch games, not just highlights and know basketball you see that he lacks all the intangibles that make a good NBA player.

To not see the comparison shows that all you watch is highlights too . Wemby just taller with a better motor , coach , and team that uses him .
Name one team Bol Bol played on when he was needed , or was a top 3 scoring option !
Wemby is the 2nd scoring option on this spurs team , and really they go to him often as the 1st option he just can’t get good position in the post , and that’s against guards btw . So Devin Vassell opens the floor up for him .
If the roles were flipped and Bol Bol played for the spurs the numbers wouldn’t be quiet the same as far as rebounds and shit but offensively they’d be similar . The spurs always had a team oriented system so Bol would either get minutes and score within the system or just not play at all like he been doin but they are the same player no matter how you look at it . Wemby is just with a coach who is arguably top 10 all time and understands how to use him .

      @RemyKingKen Год назад +3

@@lilsmokeyy_93 you literally said the biggest difference tho! The reason why they’re so fundamentally different players despite similar skill sets and talent. Bol bol has no motor. I hear too many fans saying he never had the chance to prove themselves REALLY never played a sport. He gets his chance everyday being on the roster. He gets his chance by being the guy who sees the teams best players daily. He gets to be the guy who the coaches call when they need bodies in garbage time. Also the magic gave him more than enough chances, he started like half their games, they didn’t make him the first option because of all 30 teams there’s more than 4 better players to have as a scoring option. You think teams and coaches are intentionally holding him back because they’re scared? No he’s not impactful enough to warrant having a different player in the game in place of them

The fact that Bol Bol can’t get on the floor even when Nurkic is in foul trouble should tell you something. Wembanyama will soon be the biggest star in the NBA. Everything surrounding Wembanyama’s career has been carefully choreographed up to this point. We all know the NBA lottery is fixed. The NBA gave San Antonio the #1 pick, because they knew the Spurs would give him the best chance to develop into the star player the NBA desperately wants. It’s all about international money. Professional basketball is a great product, but the NBA sucks. It’s all about money, and only a few teams in the league will ever win a title, because that’s the way the NBA wants it.

      The NBA lottery isnt fixed
The Spurs suck, if they were going to rig him to go somewhere he would go to a big market or like OKC.
Wembanyama has been playing pretty terrible outside one game as well, I think he's vastly overrated when people are saying he's the best prospect since Lebron

@@oliverjames9138 The NBA lottery is most certainly fixed. I remember going to a Cleveland Cavaliers game the year before LeBron James came to Cleveland. Everyone was talking about how they were going to get LeBron, and the season wasn’t even half over. At that point in time only 2 other NBA teams with the worst record had won the lottery. Cleveland soon became the 3rd, because they would have folded had they not gotten LeBron. The building was virtually empty the season before LeBron came. I went back to Cleveland the next year during LeBron’s rookie season, and the building was sold out. The dancers looked like Lakers Girls instead of the community college dropouts they had the year before. That lottery win completely turned the franchise around. Even Gilbert Arenas has said the lottery is fixed on his basketball podcast.

If bol bol was the player y'all believe he is the nuggets wouldn't have dropped, Orlando magic wouldn't have dropped him and All the Nba teams wouldn't have passed on getting him in free agency. If an NBA team saw a young player with talent don't you think they would put in effort to get him? Instead rn he's filling out the sun's bench. Highlights are deceiving.

I've seen a few comments saying this dumb shit about people needing to watch the games. It's not just here, it's everywhere. So to those who think that:
I will admit, I am guilty of mostly watching highlights and skimming boxscores, but it's unfair to say that I should have to watch a full 2+ hour broadcast to see 1 guy play like ass for about 5 minutes before I can say anything about him.
That said, I have common sense. If he's playing garbage time, averaging insignificant minutes (reflected on his stats and boxscores), I will come to the conclusion he doesn't perform well enough on a consistent basis to play more. From that I would gather he has a roster spot because he has potential (if he isn't a veteran with the team or league, acting as a sort of mentor on a rebuilding team).
Highlights are exactly as they're called in my eyes: they highlight a player's or team's best moments. Using those in conjunction with boxscores and stats should give sufficient information.
Just to be clear, I'm not defending Shaq, who really should be paying more attention to this stuff since it's part of his job, or anyone who agreed with him. I'm defending their use of time. Those people probably only have a loose grasp on the state of the NBA, and have other things they need and want to do. It's easier to accept the opinion of a great former NBA player than it is to look for yourself and come to a more accurate conclusion. It's those kinds of casual 'fans', that don't *actually* care, that are who you are addressing by saying this. That is to say, they won't be reading your comment.
So I won't be watching any games to tell you my thoughts: Wemby is very different from Bol Bol, but I can see how Shaq would come to his conclusion, based on highlights.
    Tl;dr:
All this whining about not watching games is unreasonable.
Not everyone has time to watch the games.
Highlights and stats combined provide sufficient info.
Most people don't care enough anyway.

After the clip you showed (just after your cut) He said his heigth is the same, and he has some handle. But the main différence is the concistency and the bricks. Shaq isn't some random dude...
How i see it, with a better coach and trainner that instead of putting him down try to elevate him and put some confidence in him he would be better. Maybe not Wemby good, but off the bench good.
