    Thanks for the info. What about the original handlebar streamers you referenced? Were they patented? I’m asking to help refine what is considered useful as I’m not sure I can see any utility. Thanks.

    • @johnferrellesq.
      @johnferrellesq.  7 месяцев назад +1

      I don't know if handlebar streamers have ever been patented. But of course they are useful. Handlebar streamers are colorful and bring joy and smiles and make a bike a lot more fun to ride. 😊 Also, they arguably draw attention to the bike and make it more visible in traffic. I think they are patentable if new and nonobvious, but there may also be some grumpy, no-fun judges that might not agree with me. Hope this helps. Warmest wishes, -john

    Sir thank you for your explanation. My name is Louie Abad from the Philippines. I have discover that the thing who always used of the people who have vehicle is disposable. Now if I re transform it and the parts of item is replaceable and I go to the manufacturer and talk to them that this item we can create a new transformation. That if this sold to the market it is user friendly and economically users will not trash it easily. How can I protect my idea. This thing I created is very simple idea but no one ever manufacturer come up this idea. I know people badly needed this idea, because people can save this thing that so expensive when you bought brand new. If one company create new transformation I am 100% the other competitors will be manufacture the same transformation. then how can i protect my idea and to have income. I need help sir, the name of my new innovation is LSCB.
    I mean sir how can I protect my idea if I transform this thing from disposable to be a replaceable when the system is down. I also mean that I incourage the company that instead this we create this. Then if this thing created how can I compensate. Or this idea can not claim entelectual rights. Hope you help me to understand what should I do. Thank you sir.

    I've been an inventor, designer, manufacturer, and marketer of hundreds of professional technical tools for more than 50-years and have never applied for a patent on a single one! In the 80's I read an article from a fellow inventor stating the following: patents provide zero protection, they provide only one thing, the precedent to sue an infringer in a court of law. If you do not have the sizeable money to pay an attorney to bring this lawsuit to court, attorneys will rarely if ever, take a patent infringement case on contingency, unless it provides multiple millions of dollars for the attorney. In addition, if you do not bring suit against every infringer on your patent, you will lose the ability to bring suit after only one year! This is why I've never applied for a patent, I simply marketed my products with a money back guarantee of utility, and at a reasonable price for the marketplace. David Riddle

      Hi David, thank you for your message. I agree that the 80s were a dark period for inventors. Things have dramatically changed in recent years with the growth in online sales and the willingness of online platforms to support inventors and their patents.
