This was a good song in 1978 ... it's still a bloody brilliant one in 2020 and the original lyrics forming "the speech" are still relevant which is perhaps depressing
The way he changed the "Freedom from the reds and the blacks and the criminals..." speech was brilliant and so in tune with today. Brilliant. Utterly brilliant. Cheers, Tom.
Same, very modern. I was cautious when I decided to watch performances of this track in the 21st century as his old speech has the right idea but executed wrongly. The changed speech is spot on
Brilliant! The new speech/rant is very appropriate, the band is on fire, and TR is in fine voice for a 68 year old fuddy-duddy. Oh, and the guitarist does a nice tribute to the late, great, lamented Danny Kustow, much appreciated. Who are the band members, they deserve to be credited!
I, last this weekend had the wonderful chance to hear Tom and his fabulous band in the West Holts crew bar. Maybe there 50 or 60 of us. Utterly brilliant. I believe in evolution. There's power in the darkness for sure. And there's power in light. Rock on Tommy.
Google is your friend! Tom Robinson bass, keyboards. Andy Treacey drums. Adam Phillips electric guitar, vocals. Jim Simmons organ, piano, vocals. Lee Forsyth Griffiths acoustic guitar, vocals.
How about tom robinson for the radio 2 breakfast show, people are sick to death of so called adults, age 50 plus, of a child like over excitement , or boastful in your face homosexuality ,,its in TV and radio, and even though tom Robinson dabbled in homosexuality,he never imposed, acted boasted threatend,to a point of childish excitement,to sicken the listener,as in some bloke called ryland on Saturday afternoon, its an appalling show,,he as no knowledge of music etc, just a face to fit the PC propaganda media, and that's how our BBC and TV is being smothered corrupted poisoned, with PC brainwash, and manufactured conveyor belt people who have absolutely no talent,, Tom Robinson as temporarily taken over wonderful johnny walkers place while convalescing and tom Robinson is absolutely wonderful ,
40 plus years on. This is so significant. What a band, lucky to see them twice ,40 plus years ago❤

i'm glad he's not still saying the slurs though
Bloody awesome. I grew up on this shite. My son love it.
Absolutely on point, now as then.
And I'll fight alongside him.
Who's with me?
Still kicking ass, TR.

Now it's 2020 and the rant could be even hotter!

Pure brilliance you can’t hold a good song down simple.
2022, April. Still good 🤩 even better
Thus is what we need no power in the darkness fight for our rights 🙏🙏😂😘 love you Tom and boys
Glad to see he still has his voice. He's sure put it through the wringer...
Legends 🎼🎤🎸✊ So looking forward to the London gig at the end of the month. Sound track of our generation.
Epic!
Tom is an amazing bass player!
fabulous and so spot on!
I bought this album in 1980 in Poland. It cost me 50% of my monthly income.
Did you use the stencile?
@@NR23derek I have lost the stencile, but I still have the vinyl record - unfortunately played to death.
I thought the ruling Communists in Poland would banned the record in 1980
I found it in the bargain bin - reduced to like one dollar.
It was a super right on record to buy.
Fucking EPIC
More COWBELL please?
TR, way cool. Also dig the keyboard player. Actually they're all good. Who are they?

I don't agree with all the politics but musically this is amazing!!!
TR was all about the politics!
that is one way to avoid saying it
Sorry?
@@NR23derek the word of all evil
@@happinson Nope, sorry, that doesn't make sense either.
@@NR23derek cope old man. he was too scared to say it because it's not the 70s/80s anymore.
@@happinson Say what? If you're going to make a point about something, you do have to say what it is. I have no idea what you're talking about.
