The Underboss Also doesn’t help that Zombies in D&D don’t create spawn....better to go with wights. Or wraiths. Or be really, really mean and convert the 3rd party Pathfinder “Dread Bodak” template, for that wonderful combination of a Gaze attack that auto drops everyone who fails their fort save within 30ft to -1 hp (save at least once a round, maybe twice if the Bodak focuses you), a standard action Death wail that no-save kills everyone who is at -1hp or lower, and a Create Spawn ability that turns everyone killed in that way into more Dread Bodaks under the control of the original.

    Blink dog,

    Satyr:
Your favourite class is the bard and you jumped a whole through your roof when they made Satyr a playable race.
    Green hag:
You like classic fairy tales and love folklore.
    Night hag:
You like the older grimmer versions of fairy tales and are surprised this is indeed a fiend and not a fey.
    Sprite:
You constantly remind everyone how "yes sprites do like thier slillyness but they are also great warriors" and then you ramble about them for 30 min straight
    Red cap
You liked this creature because it looks like a gnome but liked it even more when you learned it needs to put blood on his cap survive.
    Pixie,
You are either that strange luna lovegood kid that constantly said weird things and probably owns several (sometimes very graphic) pixie statuettes or you just like to fuck with your party.
    Yeth hound,
I mean.... what is wrong with you.
    Dryad,
You get mad when people confuse them with nymphs and you probably love Greek mythology.
    Eladrin
You like to collect minis but you are also a perfectionist and thus have spent way to much money on them
    Boggle
    They just look... funny.
    Korreds:
You like funky music and weed. You would kill for a korreds dreadlocks
    Meenlock:
EEEEEDGGGEEEEE. But besides that you love lore. Especially dark and deep lore
    Quickling
You don't take d&d to seriously. You like to exploit the system and make stupid (overpowerd) combos.

Plants types do have one monster that I say needs to be respected. The "Shambling Mound" is a creature I shapechanged into one day and killed the BBEG ancient black shadow dragon with in single combat. I was a necromancer wizard in 5e and took control of 2 will-o-wisp as my pets and kept them in my demiplane unless i needed them. When we fought the BBEG the, he through everyone into demiplanes to face a challenge before he would. I called him a coward and requested a duel. He accepted. I summoned my wisp pets and shapechanged to shambling mound and had my wisp attack only me. The BBEG couldnt do more damage then points my wisp healed me with.

Monstrosities really appeal to a different demographic than the rest of the critters in the game. A lot of the stuff in the game has a very sword-and-sorcery feel to it, but a lot of monstrosities have an almost Monster Hunter sort of vibe, in terms of being a massive, dangerous beast. I very much like that. Same with aberrations, in a way - they give a game an eldritch horror feel.
