      @@tytythefly I have been on subs for 13 years and for many years used them as a bridge for when I didn't have any dope. I am down to .5mg once a day from 24mg a day at my highest dose. Thanks again. Your vids are very relatable.

    I lost my brother to issues related to his opiate addiction just before Christmas 2020. Your ability to reflect on what that is like for the family is so accurate. The questions it leaves us with can be crippling. The what if’s are never ending because it’s just so senseless, and you are left trying to piece together how you could have saved them. I came across your videos because I am currently wanting to undergo the process of quitting Suboxone. I am so grateful that I had it as a resource in my recovery but it’s become an issue that causes more negatives than positives in my life and I know I don’t need it anymore and haven’t for a long time. I am so ready to move on. You are a great inspiration!

      This means a lot! Thank you! I couldn’t imagine putting my family through my death. I was at the same place you are… subs just weren’t doing it for me anymore. The whole ordeal I was so sick of, the doctor, the always thinking about it come dose time, the constant need to have it to make myself feel ‘normal’, the numbness of all my emotions, less drive in life over all, just everything! It was a burden. I know you can do it. Don’t be afraid to check into a detox/rehab if your financials allow it. It’s not a sign of weakness to do that. Those two things Made it possible for me to quit, gave me about 45 days of ‘checking out’ from the world. No responsibility, no chores, no tasks to do, all I had to do was goto those damn groups, learn about sobriety and ride out the feeling of discomfort, surrounded by others who we’re struggling. That was a huge help. Here I am 6 months later and I’ve already started a business of my own and enjoying life more than I ever have. It’s a blessing, it’s a fucking miracle! I was the worst of addicits, I couldn’t go a day without altering my mind. I pray for you Persephone! All my best and if you need help reach out

      Thankyou, I feel you on all of that!
      Especially the emotional numbness. I still have not processed losing my brother. Him and I began using together in our early 20’s and I got on subs and was able to stay sober and start a family and he continued down the path of active addiction and it took his life. Not being able to sit and feel that loss has been the worst experience. The subs just don’t allow me to feel it, they block all of it and I need to feel that grief. I hate being numb to it along with everything else. I also used to be really creative and artistic and I have lost all of my motivation for that and the other things that used to make me intensely happy. I just can’t stand the dullness anymore and my two small children are starting to notice when I have to dose and I can’t talk for 20 minutes every morning, and I hate that.
      I am going to take my time, I know it will probably be at least a year of tapering but I am okay with that as long as I am making progress. It’s going to be hard to jump off being a mom and having responsibilities but my husband will help as much as he can and I think my kids are the ultimate motivators. Plus, they can help keep me busy.
      I’m really enjoying your content and I look forward to more videos from you. I am happy your mom is okay, what a warrior! And what a testimony to your sobriety that you were able to sit in that fear and discomfort and not fall off track. That’s amazing.

    My mom was my best friend, no underlying conditions, and then out of nowhere she died from Covid a couple years ago. I was super close with her. That was what got me to figure out a way out of Suboxone/Gabapentin. I could have only wished I’d been sober when it happened. But that’s exactly what changed me spiritually and got me to fix my life. I’m 29, I didn’t have much time with her, but she was my everything, so I absolutely no how you feel.
    I hate that this happened to you man, I know how hard this is, it’s the worst thing I ever went through. I know it’s been a year since this happened, but I know it never really gets easier, just easier to stomach as you go. I hope you’re doing alright these days, though, I feel for you.

    It's encouraging to see you go above 160 days and still staying off that shit while loosing your mom. Not easy but good job pushing through it. I'm 95 days off the subs myself. Been an opiod addict for 12 years. 4 years on oxys, 4 years on methadone then switch to suboxone for 4 years. I didn't sleep for shit my first 40 days but started to get better after that. You're right if you made it this far it would be totally selfish to use. Besides life a lot easier without it anyways, even facing life on life's terms. Anyways hope you upload another video soon on your update

    I have 25 days off sub. How long until the depression and energy levels got better for you?

    • @tytythefly
      @tytythefly  3 года назад +2

      Ah man, I think I'm still dealing with the depression, but therapy, staying active (gym, walking, getting outside), surrounding myself with positive people, doing things I enjoy, and stuff like making these videos and helping others boosts my mood and makes me kind of get out of myself. The energy level increase started to go up around day 60 when I could finally get a decent night sleep. Going to the gym REALLY helped my energy come back quicker. I still don't think I'm 100% though. There's still a lingering 'un-motivated' type feeling on some days. Some days I just am exhausted, some days I have really good energy. After 6 years of subs they fucked my brain and body up pretty bad. I would highly suggest getting blood work done and checking your testosterone levels. Subs WRECK your test levels. When testosterone is low in males it causes depression, anxiety, and low energy levels. Once I got on TRT my energy levels and depression improved tremendously. Get blood work, go to an endocrinologist or TRT clinic and get on Testosterone so you can feel like a man again. If you don't do that, it will probably take a good 6 months to a year before youre back to a baseline testosterone level. Let me know if you need help with this. All the best bro

      @@tytythefly thanks man. I was on it for 8 years. I’m going to the gym daily, drinking water and taking hella supplements. I have an appointment with a new doctor this week to get some testing done and get some testosterone. Thank you for the advice. Some light at the end of the tunnel.

    I am so so sorry to hear about your mom Tyler, almost the same incident happened to my mother-in-law two years ago, she went in for a small “day surgery and we all get the call to come in because she wasn’t going to make it. needless to say, we were completely shattered . But I would like to try to remind you, give yourself a little credit, you wanted to be off that stuff because you chose to be off of it, try to keep that at the front of your mind. and believe in your higher power, because I believe it made it possible for you to be there for your mother clean and sober when she passed. I’m so so sorry, but I can tell you she is more than happy that you were the way you were when she passed🥲 you and Brendan Novak are the ones that are helping me right now. I’ve been doing my taper for 2 1/2 weeks now and I’ve come down 8 mg.I know that this is the easy part of my taper, I’m gonna start going a little slower but I got more out of one of your videos about your a experience than I get from any doctor.I’d like to think you’ve given a lot more people Hope than you realize. You certainly give me hope bro.🥲❤️💪🏻🙏TY
