The “come on Harry we wanna say goodnight to you” is actually a voicemail from his goddaughter and he put that voicemail in front of the song and he said he fell in love with it so he kept it.
I think it’s about harry and his fathers reaction ship because “harry what are you doing in the floor what pills are you on” about what his sad says to him and it says “2 kids” referring to harry and Gemma!
Ok so they said that is was Freddie but I’m sorry to hurt anyone but in an interview on April 1st he said that the kid at the beginning we his god daughter she called him every night to say goodnight but he didn’t answer one night and then she said in a voicemail “harry we wanna say good night to you” and he saved it and he said he was playing around in the studio and played it at the beginning and he said he fell in love with it so it stuck
I thought it was about how he is closeted. Also that part where he is like talking about the 2 kids, moving to America etc sounds like Olivia. But he is numb not happy or sad. And he also said I don't want to think about how it was. Like in "don't remind me". I think the kid at the beginning is like everyone around him. We can also see that him and the girl in blue are being captured and then women appear over them and they are torn apart and were once colour was there is now a black and white background. Also at the end where he is finally breathing and smiling and wearing less clothing that is what being free means. I once saw a post where a gay man said he used to wear so many layers and hoodies after the coming out he stopped that reminded me off that (I don't think he was referring to that person tho. I think he was just referencing the feeling of freedom). Another thing I noticed was the way both always miss each other. Both trying to catch up with the other but not being able to be that perfect couple walking side by side.
