Hi everyone! Thank you for watching my first sit down talk video about moving to the PH. Please feel free to ask some questions and post them below. 👇 I will answer all of them on my next video. thank you SO much! 🩷🙌
Just wanna share that freelancing industry is booming here in the Philippines. We can still earn in dollars but spending in peso. I agree that shopping and commuting are now more convenient because of these online platforms and we can spend our time and money more efficiently. I've never been in the US but I've been working with some US companies, and I understand their struggles. More companies are outsourcing workers here because it's more cost efficient for them.
Hi! Id like to learn about these opportunities in freelancing where one can earn USD in the Philippines. Also thank you Ms Vanessa Lucas for your insights on this video
Hi there I watched this video of yours before moving to the Philippines since I wanted to move as well. Pero ngayon na nandito na ako I realized na hindi na pala para sa akin ang pinas. I was in the US for 20 years prior to moving back. Funny how life works.
Well, still good that you tried it eventually figured what lifestyle you need. Tbh, I thought that I will be investing properties here in the PH but turns out that it's not worth it.
@@iamVanessaLucas thanks. For me yung air quality ang pinaka-naninibago talaga ako. Kahit nasa bgc na ako I still feel hindi ganoong kalinis yung hangin. Also ako lang ba ha pero feeling ko hindi gaanong kamura tumira dito sa atin 😅😅 Actually parang mas mahal ng items lalo na mga manufactured goods compared sa US 😅 I wouldn’t buy condos here if I were you talagang lugi ka long term siguro not unless nasa bgc ka ot bibili ka ng lupa. Goodluck!
@@xyzaex totally agree, I stopped running outside because of the smog and kung ano anong pollutants sa hangin. Yeah, i would rather buy properties sa Thailand, Bali or Japan since we are flexible on that naman. The way they price the properties here in the PH doesn't make sense at all kasi and like you said the goods din. Sadly, bgc is a bubble. buti sana madaming "bgc" sa pinas. lol 😂 we'll see.
@@iamVanessaLucas I agree although I love bgc I think I will eventually get tired of the place and even you would have to get things done outside bgc so really can’t just forever stay inside the bgc bubble. Another thing na naninibago talaga ako is sa ugali ng mga tao I often times feel like an outsider when dealing with locals may Mga mannerisms at ugali yung mga tao na hindi ko na maintindihan or find downright odd. I think I have been Americanized at this point. Wala na din akong kaibigan dito so parang I feel like I am starting my life over. Another thing is kids. I think it is still better to raise my child in America. Good luck sa journey nyo magasawa. I trully enjoyed your videos! Please keep posting! Would love to see how it turns out for you guys in the long run! God bless!
You're absolutely correct, particularly if you lived in CA where woke & liberalism reigns resulting "America in decline". A wise decision for the author to get out & find another place to live but foremost, IMHO we need to consider the exposure of the 1st world where it has the distinct edge..
After watching this video, I want to come home to the Philippines. Thank you Vanessa. Btw, can I ask you about your rental property in the USA. Do you have a real estate agent handling it for you for a 10% fee?
I love this detail, were also looking to move to the Philippines in November as well, as we are going to be wanting a freer and more aligned life. What is your suggestion for someone who wants to move there? What is a good idea to do for the first month as we have a german shepherd with us.
I suggest to book an Airbnb for a month so that you have enough time to explore the areas you possibly want to live, to look for a long term place to rent or buy, to open bank accounts and etc..
Mas madami pang nakaka pag international travel kahit dito lang sa pinas nagwowork compared sa mga ibang Filipino na nasa US...di nga yearly makapag bakasyon ung karamihang pinoy na nasa US dahil sa sobrang laki magagastos nila....Basta madami kang sources of income mas maeenjoy mo talaga ang life sa pinas.
Did you choose to live at Serendra? We are planning to visit this year and maybe rent or buy. What area in BGC can you suggest that is close to everything? Is the St Mark condo a good location? Thanks and appreciate very much watching your video, very informative.
Bonifacio High street is a good location if you want to buy or rent a condo. Serendra is good with good rental price. If you want affordable price then go for Avida Properties also walking distance to bgc high street.
That's a big moved .. from US life style to Filipino . your salary comparison is night and day. 1 month salary is the US is 1 year to worked in the Philippines. When you retire in the US Social security alone can make your life easier, in the Philippines not much. If you have kids more for them compare to Filipino upbringing. My 2 cents.
That's the disadvantage of going back to Pinas for good, particularly if without substantial savings to start all over again & a good source of income to maintain a US lifestyle. Moreso, the privilege of being in the 1st world is sacrifice, particularly with offspring's world class exposure & competition.
Totally. That's why I don't recommend to people wanting to move to the Ph or any other countries for good without financial security and a back up plan. I grew up in Ph and I know how sweet & tough to live in the country.
Hi Vanessa! I am now a subscriber. Loved this episode. I just wanted to know what you think in living in BGC compared to the Venice part. not sure if thats near BGC but I like it too! Those are the 2 places I am considering. Thank you! Do you have email too? Also are there companies hiring there where you can be paid in dollars?
Hi, any condos within BGC area are good for rent in my opinion. It really depends on you if you like the surrounding areas of the condo you chose. There are condos that have a quieter surrounding and some have foot traffic and noise. Regarding companies that pay in dollars - i am not 100% sure about this.
Congratulations... appreciate for the insights and tips... Philippines is getting its own good name to offer to the world that there's a place to live in safe, sound and secured.. Kudos 🧧🎁

Yes, it is very expensive to live in the US, especially in the big cities.

Hi, yes we have. 👍 kailangan po kasi talaga. And you need someone na matagal mo nang kilala and trusted for a long time..
great vlog although i am wonedering why not invest in rent to own. Agree on all points, highly recommending bgc. Kudos maam, keep it up.
Thank u for the comment! I am not fully knowledgeable yet on rent to own properties here in MNL. Any advice?
