Good morning. Great info my husband collected coins he has some Morgan Dollar Eisenhower and many other old coins. I am decently going to look. Thank you so much.
This is the best information on the Peace Dollar I’ve watched. The Morgan Dollar is beautiful and interesting; however, I’m working on getting more Peace Dollars because they are beautiful and seem to emit an unusual energy that I don’t feel when I hold the Morgans. Strange? Maybe-but I’m fine with that. I love both the Peace and Morgan dollars. Thanks for sharing this interesting historical background info.
Interesting ... I feel the history and aura of imagination of the Morgans as in the nostalgia of a cowboy walking into a Saloon paying for a bottle of whiskey, a room and a bath. Maybe a lady to draw a nice hot bath for him *;* Ohhhh the stories they could tell of Bank robbers, on & on!
I just found a 1922 S with a DDO and the best thing is that almost the entire front is doubled. The letter, numbers, neck and nose, hair and crown are all doubled.
I have been collecting peace dollars for a few years now, and have almost a complete set. Just need the 1934-S and a 3 errors( 34 filled D, The Double Die, and one other error) to complete the set. The 1922 HRs, @ $200,000, are out of my price range. One reason I heard that the broken sword wasn’t chosen was that it was a sign of defeat and surrender. When a soldier surrendered, his sword was broken. We hadn’t given up and we didn’t want to gloat by having the eagle holding a busted German sword, so the rock was chosen.
I've been 🍒 picking, coin roll hunting, 🐷 bank shaking, and metal detecting looking for error coins, rare coins, and varieties. That's all been fun, but I haven't found two worth keeping. I was about to throw in the towel till I watched this video. Learning about the history of the Peace Dollar was itself a treasure find! Thanks for the info. Where do I enlist, I mean subscribe?

It is not that the coin was minted in New Orleans. In 1922 there were no dollars minted in that mint. You mentioned that it is "on" the eagle. Feel free to email photos of it to us at Service@saharacoins.net and we can take a closer look and see if we can help you figure out what is going on with it.

Thank you for the feedback! The markets are interesting on Peace dollars in particular, you are correct they can be purchased at quite the deal especially since the silver market has been kept suppressed for a while
The 21 and 28 are both considered key dates. You could sell them or hang onto them. If they are in great condition it may be worth looking into having them certified.
@@Saharacoins they are in very good condition we bought them from a woman who's husband had them for years an I would like to sell them but don't trust anyone that has told me that they wouldn't give me much for them but they wanted to trade
No, but there is a 21 and 22 satin finish which they say there is only 5-8 of them known, you can look at the current price guide for them at www.pcgs.com/prices/detail/peace-dollar/26/most-active
Really good video. Very informative especially for a new guy like me not knowing anything about this stuff. My only constructive criticism, the background music is very distracting. If it was a little quieter or possibly even something else it would have made your commentary that much better.

Yes, both were struck in 21. The crazy thing is that in 1921 it was actually a short run time for the Morgan but they minted 44,690,000 Morgans which was the most Morgan dollars minted in a year... The next closes was 1889 where they minted 21 million of them.

great stuff, the Peace Dollar my favorite coin at the moment
Out of all the us bullion, the peace dollar is my favorite.
mine too. you have a great taste in bullion.
Just so you know the peace dollars are not bullion coins they're 90% silver coins the bullion coins are .999 and .9999 pure
I just found a 1922 S with a DDO and the best thing is that almost the entire front is doubled. The letter, numbers, neck and nose, hair and crown are all doubled.
I found one it has no date on the front. It has a different saying on the back, says one Troy oz. Any ideas?
That would be a 1oz Silver Round, there are replicas made out of pure silver. It essentially is worth the silver value and follows the silver market.
