There was a time, you may remember it, when the world slowed down. Life became strange but simple, home was everything, and, without the competition of engines and machinery, birdsong rang out clear and true.
But then, that year or two passed, to be talked of no more, and life sped up again - now at ten times the speed that it was before. “We cannot go back to the way we were” people said, and they were right, we didn’t. Instead the world became faster, more complicated, and a little scarier.
I do not however believe the lessons have been lost, just forgotten in the uncertainty of how to fit them into a new reality. So, with that, I humbly present to you this guide, a reminder really, of how to live more simply.

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderfully helpful reminders! Clutter not only bogs down our space, but our minds, for sure! And spending time in nature is such good medicine. :)

Beautiful video and great advice!! For myself, the most critical aspect of 'simple living' is a positive, questioning and focused mindset. An example of that would be....when deciding to purchase any item, I ask myself: 'Do I need or want this item? How will this item streamline/simplify my life? Is there a membership required? Is this a consumable or non-consumable item?' Also on the subject of stuff you already have: 'If you haven't used it in a year it needs to go. And, everything has a place....so when you use an item, clean up after yourself.' Those are just a few tools I use to live simply.

The problem I have is letting go of sentimental items. Things that belonged to loved ones who are no longer here.. people and pets. Its like a part of them is still with me as long as I have the item.

I can really relate to that. I don't think we need to let go of all our sentimental items, but letting go of some of them allows more space for the most important ones :)
