    Excellant job, you might want to put a wall bracket on the back of it, as if you pull out more than two shelves, the cabinet could tip over, and spill the precious product.

    Yes, more , definitely. Shop projects are great, non-shop projects are just as great. Keep them coming. It makes my whole day better every time I see you posted a new video. I am just a hobby woodworker from the U.S. I probably have more tools then the average person, but no where near as many as the professional. Your channel is the perfect balance for me. Thank you, I not only enjoy your channel, but I appreciate it. Cheers!

    You can even make this with standard pine stock from the big box store, using a hand saw. Have them cut the large panel to size for the sides an top bottom.

    Really good video - many thanks. If you were to continue to refine your design, you could increase the router/chamfer on the bottle slats at one end to ensure that the bottle is not level but tips slightly one way. That would allow you to store bottles with corks slightly downwards to keep the cork moist. This is not really an issue for screw-top bottles I accept!

    I am planning to do so.ething similar soon, nice job.
    When I do endgrain screws like you are doing in this project I try to srew them at an angle, or if not possible do dowels perpendicular to the grain to havesome cross grain for the screws to grab on.

  • @RossRawlins
    @RossRawlins 3 года назад +4

    Your shelves should be at an angle. The wine should always be in contact with the cork. Just an FYI

    • @spinfiredubai
      @spinfiredubai 3 года назад

      Exactly what I was about to comment, you should never have the cork exposed to air. The wine will go off. Also you should use the playing card trick to space your drawer fronts, will give you a more uniform spacing. I love this project by the way, would love to see this made from old oak wine barrels...

    • @asktheraccoon

    • @alexreith4877
      @alexreith4877 3 года назад +10

      But if the bottles are unopened then the amount of air in the bottle is small enough that the cork is fully in contact with the wine when the bottle is horizontal. I can't imagine storing a half empty bottle.

    Just a question... I see you connect all the large boards (top bottom and two sides) to the skeleton using two screws and glue, where the grain direction is perpendicular between the two. Can't it be a problem in terms of wood extension and contraction?

    Hey mate that's amazing video and wine rack.
    I am looking y building something similar but with a Dept of 80cm. This will allow me to keep two rows of bottles.
    Now the question comes to what type of runners do I use? Do I use two sets of what you have done or build a long 80cm rack but will that hold the accumulated weight of 16 bottles?

    • @WoodshopJunkies
      @WoodshopJunkies  Год назад
