This just my daily driver nothing special AKA work truck.
The distortion is from the mic on the camera not liking bass. The sound coming from the sub is smooth and crystal clear without distortion

I want that enclosure
Running one of the zvx 8 on a sundown sax 1000d,box is 1.5 minus the sub and port gets it close to 1.25 as recommend.Tune to 36 hertz.The battery runs at 14.2,14.3 and gets no lower then 13.5.Head unit all amps gain set with smd,so everything has a clean sound.Bought one last year and it was great,so after playing a couple months I decided to buy another and look for a bigger amp.Before I could look for a bigger amp the sub snapped. Oki know these are built on a assembly line so no problem. Called Skar up they said to send it in ($50) on my end for shipping no problem. I installed my second zvx 8 that I had sitting here made sure to go back over everything with smd gain match. So I still had bass while I was waiting on the first one. I actually turn my gain down like the last one to make sure I broke it in right after the 24 hours of break in reset the gains back to where the smd gain setting said and with in a day the surround ripped. So then I was sitting there with no subs. When I got the first one back Skar considers the refurbished,sub was three months old, so they tell me my two year warranty just went to one year I can see that if I was a eleven months into it not three months. This was like September last year,the refurbished made it longer then the new ones but now last week that first one is now cracking on the surround close to the cone. So now I have to yank it out put my second one in. Maybe I'll get that second box built one day when these subs quit breaking

How many cubes MAX do 4 of these need? I just bought 4 of them in a box and to my calculations the box is 5.5 cubes tuned to 30hz when you multiply LxWxH divided by 1728
1.25 cubes per sub. your box is 5.5 cubes have you deducted .12 cubes for displacement of each sub that puts you at 5.02 also take in account the area the port uses

i did the box on a cnc but could easily be done with router and the right bits. Steve Meade did a layered box on a cnc but there is another guy that did a small one with just a router they are pretty easy to make but do waste a large amount of material mine took like just over a sheet and a half to make. i did the design in free cad software fusion 360 made it easy to figure out the enclosure volume. ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=layered+speaker+box

Just going by the amp specs. But I do know I have gotten it hot enough you can get a metallic taste in your mouth. The sub nearing on its 3rd year finally blew the surround. So now there is a 12 in the same style box in the truck now. Next year might try 2 12's

Don't really have a good answer. I went with Skar purely for a budget build to keep cost down.

I think it could rock it pretty descent. Playing this sub at lower levels still hits hard

@@leeford1045 next time i am in the shop i will still see if i have the cad drawing with the dimentions. I did this with a cnc but could be easily be done with a router or jig saw

Does a speaker like this out perform dual comp r kickers? I’m debating on what to buy for my etc cab truck. My suv has two kicker comp r’s
My first install in this truck was 2 kicker comps. The one 8 inch skar had about as much output alone. This is no sundown but it definitely beats the Kickers
Lmao you should have went with 2 Kicker L7 8''s in a probox they would outperform those comps hell 1 of them would setup right be sure to get the 4ohm not the 2 ohms
